Why Are All The Computers Soooooooooo Expensive Even The Low Quality Ones

Is it good to add a little bit of cottage cheese to my pregnant dogs diet?

Well, not exactly during pregnancy and nursing. Here's why.

Every calorie that goes in her must be perfect for puppies, no fillers, no preservatives, etc. Always remember you are feeding puppies here. You must be careful though with feeding mom as you don't want the puppies to be gigantic as that will cause delivery problems. Since you are growing puppies now by feeding mom - give her just what puppies need and nothing more. You will know all is ok if her belly is continually growing (not ballooning) but mom is a bit on the light side (just a wee bit ribby).

What I always did with my dogs was to start mom on the best possible PUPPY kibble about 6 weeks before breeding and continue the puppy kibble until she weans the pups then slowly turn her back to adult kibble. I've always had good results with eukanuba and science diet so just stuck with them and not experimented with other feeds I've heard RC is a fine quality food too. You are doing the correct thing by having her on puppy food. Feed her exactly what you will be feeding the pups when they are ready. Remember you are growing pups even before they are born and the best possible puppy kibble is complete nutrition for them. Mom's health will be wonderful on puppy kibble too but waaaaaaaaaay too rich for her when she is not pregnant or nursing.

NO-FAT cottage cheese and hard boiled eggs are excellent calcium and protein for dogs but I found that had a tendency to cause digestive problems for either mom or pups or both (all the dog stomachs are more sensitive at that time I think) So during pregnancy and nursing, I would stick to just excellent perfect puppy kibble. By the way, all my pups continued on puppy kibble until 1 year old too. Their growing bodies need that perfect feed for a whole year! Be sure the pups new owners don't neglect that very important need ok?

Good luck.
