Why Are Americans So Un-american

Why are so many Americans anti-American?

Tough question. Most Americans are loyal Americans. They can vote, and we’re usually close to 50–50 in elections. So, it is not so much anti-American as opposed to the administration in office. The most anti-American things that I have seen are public figures with a voice or an internet voice who protest by saying, “Not my President. I’m moving to Canada.” Sorry, like it or not, he is your President and Canada doesn’t want you. Vote and fix things here. Minority of Americans. Also, Calexit. Again, if it is not according to the Constitution, it’s called sedition, and we fought a bloody Civil War to preserve the Union before. I don’t think it will be done legally. Sorry California, you’re stuck with the Fly Over States and the Deplorables. Most Americans live in Fly Over States and are Deplorables, BTW. Get used to it. One State, BTW.Finally, American’s who travel abroad, apologize for America, or pretend to be Canadians. Sorry Canada. You brought that on yourself during the Vietnam War by taking Draft Dodgers.I have lived in 5 nations and worked in 38 countries and territories over 100 times. It’s not hard to be a good American, and as an American you can have your own opinion.IMHO.

Why are americans so extrovert ?

From the start, Americans depended upon each other for survival. You'd better be willing to talk with someone before heading into the woods among the bears and the mountain lions. You need a buddy. (Today's metaphorical bears and mountain lions are all the criminals we think lurk around every corner--we still need a buddy.)

Also, I think Americans are less crowded than people of many other cultures. We really do enjoy large, open spaces, and often, we are able to retreat to a nice home that is separate from all others around it (houses on lawns, not flats or apartments rising above concrete). We don't feel crowded, we don't feel our privacy is impinged upon quite so much as other peoples feel. Therefore, we don't get as crabby with each other; we don't crave time alone so much (that may be changing, BTW--I feel bad for America!). We're more willing to talk with each other.

And we're first-class marketers. Corporate America learned a long time ago that a cheery greeting as people walk in the door of the store makes them buy more. The habit spreads.

Plus, we're the forerunners in the Communications Era. Cameras, voice recorders, telephones, etc., we're very, very used to those being part of our culture. All of it is about communicating. We do that extremely well!

Last, by now, we've been doing all of this for so long, it's actually become a cultural/social nicety to wave, greet people, thank people, wish them a nice day, etcetera. Not to do so is a no-no. It's un-American.

Why are Muslims so Anti American?

What the ****. Dude, not all Muslims feel that way, you know. My best friends is Muslim, and he loves everything about America, Hamburgers, Nike, Rap music, etc. The problems is that there are so may Muslim extremists, there are Christian, Jewish and Hindu extremists that hate America too! Don`t just exclude only the Muslim extremists. Anyway, the Muslim extremists and terrorists hate America for drilling in the middle east and imperlizing their countries. Also America`s liberal values like woman rights, sex before marriage and heavy drinking, are parallel to Islamic values.

Why is it anti-american to be critical of your government?

Hey J, I guess the respondents here don't represent America. The rest of America seems quick to label Obama as unpatriotic for just being associated with someone criticizing America. They also did the same thing to MLK, Malcolm X and Bill Maher. There was even a list of traitors posted on many websites (celebrities who didn't agree with the war) and the Dixie Chicks got royally roasted.

To answer your question, it is moronic. Americans are quick to pull out the "free speech" defense whenever it is convenient. However, notice how the tone changes rapidly usually when there is a racial or cultural undertone (or overtone). For instance, MLK and Malcolm X were criticizing white America for its treatment of blacks, and the Dixie Chicks were condemning a war against Iraq, a predominantly Muslim nation.

If there is no real cultural or racial factor in the issue you're criticizing the government on, such as the environment, health care, or the housing crisis, then somehow, that OK, that's not anti-American or unpatriotic. If there is a cultural or racial factor, better start wearing your flag pin and sporting your "God Bless America" bumper sticker!

Why is America so anti-Pakistan?

They go against just about every value and policy America holds and is effectively anti-America.Further, Pakistan happens to harbor a lot of terrorists which have an anti-Western mindset. Further, lets take a look at these PEW polls:While they don’t necessarily support ISIS, the overwhelming majority selection on “don’t know” for their opinion on ISIS is enough to cause concern, and with 84% supporting a law that goes against the fundamental rights granted by the Constitution, there’s no wonder that the U.S. has a rocky relation with Pakistan.

Is it American or UnAmerican to respect the President ?

He is the Head of State, and all thoughtful people will always respect the office which he holds.

That's why the "You lie!" shout at the State of the Union address was so widely criticized by people on the left and the right alike.

One reason that Obama is being subjected to so much criticism is that his predecessor turned out to be such a total incompetent. It was difficult for people not to point out the failings of Geo.W Bush, because there were so many of them and they were so huge. Before he left office, polls showed that only a tiny group of die-hard right-wingers had any faith left in him.

His administration did such a poor job domestically - they gave us the Great recession - and in foreign affairs - they left us with two costly wars - that people got used to calling a president any unkind name they could think of. He deserved all of those attacks. Obama is simply the new target, whether he deserves it or not.

The Internet has added to the problem. It allows any pointy-headed failure with access to a keyboard the opportunity to attack a man who is thousands of times smarter than they are.
