Why Are People So Furious With Breeding Animals

Why do so many people view dog breeding as bad even though there are people doing it responsibly?

I know that there are responsible breeders, but unfortunately they are outnumbered these days. There are too many backyard breeders, puppy mills and those who keep experimenting with cross breeding to create designer dogs ( the profit motive tends to outweigh thought and caution). There is one of those experimenters that I have read the riot act to a couple of times here on Quora. It is important for people to research breeders if they are looking for a purebred puppy. There is one breeder in my area who is fantastic and is on the AKC Breeder Registry. There is another who is terrible, her sister is in a neighboring city and is equally as bad. I have helped clients report her to the AKC and they removed both her and her sister from their registry. She was breeding too often and too close in the line so puppies were being born with health issues. This kind of breeder I happily work to put out of business. The other breeder, who is wonderful, I refer clients to when they are looking for another puppy. I love responsible breeders, my parents were responsible breeders when I was young. When our stud dog got old they stopped breeding altogether. I have clients who are responsible breeders and I handle their dogs in the show ring. I even went to a breeder to get the puppy that I trained to be my husband’s service dog. It is difficult to find a dog with both the right size and temperament to do mobility assistance in the shelters. That said, I recommend that people look for breed rescues in their area when they don’t have the time or patience to raise a puppy. Breeders have their place, but cross breeders make the shelter problem worse and they give the responsible breeders a bad name.

Why do people think animals are disposable items??????

people get pets not thinking about the responsibility some people even think the pets will care for themselves. Not many people actually read about the pets or ask pet advice on pet care. alot of people think that pets dont have feelings. Its sad. Some people buy pets for there kids then there child looses interest and before you know it the pet is sitting in a pound not having a clue what it did to deserve that. and then theres the people who just keep them outdoors chained up because they think thats what they are suppose to do. there are many reasons why and yes it is inexeptable.

People need to truly understand that pets take alot of work...training. expensive vet visits, lots of toys and attension its an ongoing job. domestic animals werent born in the wild so they dont know how to live in the wild you cant just throw them away. they require love and care just like anyone does or they become bitter weak nervous or sick. and the sad thing about this whole matter is alot of people just dont care they dont think its important they dont think it matters and thats disgusting.

a sad website for a good example which i volunteer for is

also to report a chained up dog or abused animal go to the website above you could save an innocent life. Thank you and Goodluck!!!

Why do people kill animals and eat them? Are They really so insensitive?

The idea to live on prey is a natural instinct in nature and we humans are no exception. During those early days of the civilization we humans lived by hunting animals. However, as we evolved we learnt to eat and live on other food sources such as wheat, rice, lentils etc. but on places where early irrigation was not possible hunting and living on it continued.I believe eating animals is not completely wrong but the way we have started killing animals for food and made it as a business is wrong because, we not only killing the less fortunate for necessity but for making money.During my growing days in India in the 80’s and 90’s we hardly ate meat unless it was a big occasion and there used to be hand counted butchers available in a city and only available on Sundays.Today, we dont care about the animal. We just feed them steroids and food such that they grow big early and keep them in places where hardly they can live freely and this is all so that we can make more money out of our little investment on them. This is why we call them as “live stocks” and that hurts.I believe the insensitivity is in making it a business out of killing animals to make more and more profits.

Which animal is more dangerous: a lion or tiger?

Both of these beasts are incredibly formidable and dangerous and are similar in many aspects. However if you compare their behavior or nature, a considerable difference can be observed. By dangerous, I suppose you mean danger projected towards humans.Lions (wild) tend to be rather calm and collected, males don't usually bother much about anything and prefer to relax throughout most of the day unless there's opposition (other males) Hyenas or bull elephants nearby. They usually tolerate people. Take Dave Salmoni's experiment with wild lions as an example, where he closes in distance with a wild lion pride. Lons often fake charge people, as an intimidating gesture and usually ignore humans. There have been VERY FEW cases of maneating lions over the past few years. But the Tiger is a whole different story.Tigers are almost always the aggressors in human-tiger confrontations. Tigers have extreme prey drive, even more so than some other big cats and try to get their jaws around ANYTHING that moves and is within their capacity. Even when raised in captivity, this aggression and desire to seek and destroy things is instinctive. A little research about these majestic animals will tell you that Tigers, alongside homosapiens are among the few creatures that kill for sport. Take Soviet Russia's infamous stalking tiger incident for reference. Tigers are hyperaggressive carnivores, are highly opportunistic and are well established man eaters. They don't tolerate humans very well and are easily irritable. They hold the record for most number of humans ever killed by any animal. (Campavat tigress and several other notorious man eaters) Tigers are significantly more dangerous towards humans compared to lions. However, both can slaughter a mere homo sapien in a fraction of seconds. But Tiger takes the cake here due to its superior agility, short tempered aggressive low tolerance attitude towards humans, somewhat of a preference of humans as prey and the ability to climb trees, and of course pure untamed ferocity.

Why are there so many people against eating dog meat, but few against eating pork, beef, and chicken?

Because it's the culture here. I don't agree with it but that's just how it is. Like if you go to India or Hindu countries, they keep pet cows. Like how in Islam you can't have a dog. In some parts of Asia and some indigenous people they eat dog and cat. Some people even eat cat in parts of Europe! Madventures has a video of them traveling and trying exotic meats (including cat). I just never listen to those cat lovers who shout “It's cruel!!” at every chance they get without realizing they wouldn't feel the same way if it were a chicken (and these are the same kind of people making sick jokes at people with pet pigs and chickens, about how they're going to “eat” their pets). These kind of people are just stupid. You're either for meat consumption or against it. I'm not agitated by meat consumers as long as they 1. eat from a humane source or 2. Lets other people eat what they want. I respect someone who is not a hypocrite regardless if they're vegan or meat-eaters.Edit: Not to meantion people freak out and downvote videos showing preperation of cat meat or feeding of a baby kitten to crocodiles, and the same people shout “IT'S NATURE!!!” when it's a video of a cat chewing on a dead baby bird (one that's probably almost extinct due to cats over hunting them). TastedLikeChicken is a youtuber who's very good at pointing these things out to cat lovers, but they'd rather block their ears instead of listening to the facts. Shame.

Do Animals belong in zoos?

I am doing a persuasive speech on why we shouldn't keep animals in the zoos because they are being deprived of their own habitat. What is your opinion on this and what is your input!

WHy would anyone buy from a dog breeder?

To me, a pet is a pet, health and temperament guarantees don't mean much to me because in the end you are still getting a pet, and you are doing damage to the dog population by buying a pet dog (or cat aswel) from a breeder simply so you can have proof your dog is healthy and stable, but in the end when you meet a good shelter dog (and a majority are) and take it home you KNOW that it's not going to hurt you and the health risks are worth it.

And when adopting you can ask the people who care for the dog how stable the dog is and what type of temperament it has, and even better you can foster dogs until you find the perfect one and help shelters in the process!

As for working dogs you won't really find them in shelters, there are some like LGDs that will guard your stock, but definitely not as effectively as a well bred one would, but I don't believe in full on LGDs because they are often severely neglected, but that is a whole other topic. But if you want a herding dog, bird dog, tracking dog, etc etc, you are not going to find that in a shelter. Breed doesn't make a dog, and IMO when breeding REAL working dogs you should focus on drive, there are breeders that breed 100% mutts that do a job tons better than a purebred, because they can forget standards and colors and other traits and they can focus on a dog 100% built for a job!

But yeah, I adopted a purebred German Shepherd, but to me he is worth as much as any pet out there, except for the fact that he is MY dog, therefore he is awesomer =P

Why are lions always so angry?

This is a wrong statement. Lions are not angry. They are calm and roam in the jungle and remote areas. They come out in the open, and get angry at transgressors. They hate tigers who are idol worshippers. Lions in the day have sense of purpose and roam quietly alone. They do mix with their siblings. In the day, they eat flesh of humans too. Source: Australian Photographer for Webshots. In the day, they sleep under the sun mostly, they are Allah’s!In the night, they don't sleep and watch NHL players and their actions in the day and get angry at them. They get angry because they lack manners and behave exactly like other wild animals. Alteast animals rest and contemplate, think and ponder.
