Why Are We Almost Always At War When The President Is A Democrat

Why do Democrats always suck at foreign policy?

"You cannot go to a 7-11 or Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian Accent."
-Senator Joe Biden

Mahatma Gandhi "ran a gas station down in Saint Louis."
-Senator Hillary Clinton

Maybe they are racists... LOL

Why do republicans call democrats communists when democrats jfk lbj truman started the cold war?

The Cold War started immediately following WWII; it wouldn't have mattered which president was in Washington, it would have been the same even if FDR had survived. Stalin was a strong, treacherous leader. Think "Hitler with a better brain."

If anybody perpetuated the arms race of the Cold War it was the Republican Ronald Reagan, who put our country into greater debt building up an arsenal of weapons. He finally reached a point where he was proposing a shield in outer space against weapons. Most of us thought Reagan himself had to be from outer space to come up with a hare-brained plan like that.

His famous speech where he ordered Gorbachev to "tear down this wall" did nothing but anger the Russians and it was two more years before they dismantled the Berlin Wall. Perhaps if he'd kept his mouth shut, it would have been sooner. His speech writers pleaded in vain to leave the speech as they had originally written it, but stubborn Reagan, always so pleased with himself, added those words.
Reagan didn't end the Cold War, it continued on long after him.

Why do Republicans always go to war when elected?

I have friends who are Libertarian and will only vote Republican. But I don't get why when we are almost always at war with a Republican. They usually cut everything but Defense spending is always through the roof. I'm not talking about soldier pay, I mean Defense spending in general is always bloated.

When you hear the word "Republican" and the word "Democrat," what comes to mind?

When you hear the word "Republican" and the word "Democrat," what immediately comes to mind?

Anything at all.

For me:

Republican: Bible belt, Southern states, Bush, Reagan, guns, hunting, Lincoln, abolitionists, traditionalists, conservatives, rural, county music, farms, cowboys

Democrat: cities, New York, teachers, recycling, welfare, minorities, homosexuals, lesbians, transsexuals, hippies, Clinton, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, women

Why do movies always depict Republicans as evil or uncaring?

I think because if you analyse it … all art, all movies and all stories tend to embody essentially liberal ideas. Stories tend to have common archetypal themes and they will often follow patterns which are more closely allied to liberal notions. For example, it makes a better story to have David beat Goliath, than it is to have Goliath beat David. It makes a better story for Robin Hood to defeat the Sheriff of Nottingham, robbing the rich and giving to the poor than have the Sheriff triumph. And it’s way more fun to watch Jack Sparrow, run rings around the Royal Navy, than see the British quash the pirates, and restore order to the high seas.Whichever story you pick, from Star Wars to the Harry Potter, we relate to the plucky individual defeating the larger and stronger forces of authority and tradition. In most stories we would naturally map the hero to being young, poor, rebellious, progressive. While the antagonist is often is powerful, authoritarian, traditional and conservative. So it’s not just movies that are biased. The archetypal story is liberal. Even the New Testament follows this same pattern. So when the story requires a political antagonist, the writer naturally will construct a force which serves the story. In Harry Potter it is the very traditional Ministry of Magic, and in Star Wars it is the Galactic Empire. In a real-world story, in the US, the Republicans would fit the story better. In the UK it would be Conservatives, or perhaps the aristocracy. And There is perhaps a second reason. And that’s because the people who are screenwriters who come up with these stories are themselves more likely to be from the left. There’s a reason for this. To be a successful writer, you have to have the ability to invest deeply in characters. The writer will naturally shape-shift and see the world from the perspective of every character. Writers have a gift to hop into the shoes of any human being and see the world from their perspective. When people have that gift, it inevitably colours their political opinion. People who can see the humanity in the homeless, and minorities and disenfranchised, are inevitably more leftward leaning, and do no have a lot of love for authoritarian policies, or trickle-down economics.Of course, there have been right-wing screenwriters, and there are some right wing novels and screenplays. But on balance, they tend not to be as popilar.
