What can i wear during karate class to help with sesamoiditis?

The problem with these injuries are that all your training is just making the problem persist. I would suggest that you have time off active sports to aide recovery. If the problem is an ongoing issue upon your return then you need to learn to manage the problem. such as ice, anti inflammatory medication, steroid injections or even surgery.

The problem with taping and wearing a sleeve is that you are not actually fixing the problem and second is that anything you put on your feet are not going to give you traction on the mats.Unless you are going to tape it and then be allowed by your sensei to wear martial arts shoes then i would suggest taking time off to rest the injury.

Why do so many martial arts styles train barefoot?

There are two major reasons for this:

1) Many martial arts have roots in cultures where it is customary to remove shoes when entering a room, and removing shoes while practicing is an extension of that custom.

2) Many arts are more dangerous with shoes, since shoes are harder than feet, and the safety issue outweighs the practicality issue.

As for why they are done barefoot as opposed to wearing socks, the simple answer there is because you get better traction in bare feet than you do wearing socks.

Women taking off their shoes in public?

They're just relaxing their feet. Every woman I've dated did this, some more than others.
It's mostly because of discomfort, rarely it's intentional!
Sometimes, the way they play with their shoes is a bit of a turn-on....

Do you have to take off your shoes for martial arts?

Trust me, no one will even be looking at your feet in the dojo. you will be too busy training to even give it any further thought. You know what's funny, when I was a kid about 8, I was so nervous about wearing no t shirt under my gi. Then I just quit caring because it did not matter anyway.

Can I wear shoes or socks in a Muay Thai class?

Ask the gym, a simple phone call will do.Some gyms allow footwear only if it is used solely indoors (for gym purpose), others ban footwear from the mats and some dont mind either way. However, socks should be ok, they are worn by people who don't want to catch or spread foot infections for example, or simply to keep feet warm; socks can be slippy so bear that in mind when performing kicks, jumps etc.

How to get rid of my sweaty stinky feet/shoes?

Okay I totaly know what your going through ! I have the same thing with my cleats for softball ! Hahahaha . I use a generic like foot powder deoderizer that you can buy in walmart , you just shake it in your shoes and it soaks up the sweat , then on the days i dont do that i put crumpled up newspaper in them . Dont ask why that works , but my uncle told me to try it & I did , & IT WORKED ! As far as the feet go , i'd try like using boys soap on your feet , and then using like a anti persperiant deoderant on the bottom of them. It sounds wierd , but just try new things until you find something that works (:

Can you wear socks when training in a martial arts class?

Just wondering. I don't really like my feet and just feel more comfortable when I have socks on. When I lose a little weight I am going to start taking some sort of martial arts class (haven't decided which yet) and just wondered. I'm going to do it even if you can't wear socks, but I just got curious.

Could I win a fight if I know karate?

There's a lot of moving parts to winning a fight (no pun intended).I believe that if you're a dedicated person, train hard, stay in shape and learn how to effectively handle yourself, you could most likely win a fight. However, I will tell you what I've told countless others, EVERYONE loses in a fight; especially if there's a weapon involved. What I mean by that is that you need to learn now and fully understand that you're going to get hurt in some way. It could be anything from a few bumps and scraps to repeatedly being punched in the face or even stabbed.Saturday morning King Fu movies are not reality and neither are today's action movies.Bad guys don't dance about awaiting their turn to fight you after you've finished off their buddy. You're going to get rushed by several attackers at once from different angles, they're going to to kicking and punching at the same time and pray you stay on your feet and it doesn't become a ground fight. If you do train in karate, make sure your school teaches realistic, modern application techniques and that you routinely practice how to handle several attackers at once.Further, make sure you routinely practice in your street clothes, at night, in the hot sun, on wet grass, ice and pavement so you can learn to adapt and win should you ever have to fight. Finally, my best advice is to routinely pray that you'll never have to find out whether or not you CAN win a fight using Karate.
