How can the garage door kill a cat?

Especially older garage doors, they don't actually have a thing that stops them when the hit something, they they keep going down. Most garage doors weight about 400 lbs... thats easily enough to kill a cat. people have been killed too :( Put an apple under the garage door and close it. Scary

When we bought our home, the first thing I had my husband do was lower the sensors in the garage, they were two feet off the ground meaning someone could easily be under it and not set it off.

Sorry for your loss. Don't blame yourself, accidents happen and it could have happened to anyone in your family.

Should I keep my cat in the garage this winter?

My family has a outside cat, and we are planning on keeping him in the garage this winter. But many website say that keeping a cat in the garage is very dangerous since there are chemicals and cars in there. They are also websites that say you shouldn't let you cat outside at all, but we let our cat out all the time! It lives outside! We have a woods in our backyard, and we use mole killer at least twice a year. Does mole killer hurt a cat? My mom does not want to let the cat in the house, but all these websites that say a the outside is dangerous to a cat, and the garage is dangerous to a cat are scaring me! What should I do?

Can a Mole chew through wood?

Lately there has been some sort of animal in our garage chewing through our insulin and wood, I am just curious, can a mole chew through wood and/or insulin?
I've noticed a dead baby mole that died in our window well unfortunately, and the mother roaming around the house a couple of weeks ago.

Also, do you think chipmunks can? We've had 6-8 chipmunks around our house for YEARS, so I don't think nor do I hope it's them.

Can chickens help keep moles out of the yard and garden?

If you manage the chicken right they are wonderful garden helpers.I have built cages two foot wide and eight foot long with open bottoms and place these cages in the middles in the garden. The chickens scratch up the soil and eat insects not to mention the "fertilizer' they leave. after a day or so I move the cages to a different location and start the process all over. There are very few weeds left to pull and both the chickens and I profit by this. A word of warning, these cages are awkward to move and it's a two person job.I have hd no success eradicating moles from my garden however.

HELP!! I found a baby mole!! WHAT DO I DO?

How cute. Since he has fur he's probably a little older..I'd probably let him go or give him to the local natural wildlife agency if it doesn't seem like he's able to run off. I hope there aren't cats around..

My cat wants to chew on my mole do you think there is a reason?

you might have it checked by your doctor cause i have heard of dogs that are able to smell skin cancer moles and lesions before they are noticable to the person

How do I get rid of moles in my house, and how can I prevent them from coming back?

There are six types of moles living in the north American. And the most common moles in the lawn and garden is the Eastern mole( Scaleepus acquaticus). It is not necessary to manage mole, because they do not eat plants. However, the tunnel made by them could be a problem as they push up mounds of earth and will harm the root systems of growing plants.Moles are small, destructive burrowing creatures about five to eight inches long. They have small eyes and ears, which are concealed by fur and large spade-like front feet that serve them well for digging. The Eastern Mole is a big eater and can consume 70-80% of its own body weight in insects every day!TrappingThis is the most effective and reliable method. Traps should be placed in early spring when tunnels are first noticed, or after the first fall rains. Determine which tunnels are active before setting traps.Eliminate GrubsAt your garden, moles usually feed on soil dwelling insects, such as, Japanese beetle grubs. The “Spikes of Death” Lawn Aerator Sandals, Milky Spore and/or beneficial nematodes can be used to eliminate these pests and will generally decrease tunneling or feeding activity. However, if your soil is healthy, moles may still feed on earthworms after the grubs are gone.RepellentNatural castor oil repellents is working fine to keep burrowing animals from lawns, gardens and other planting areas.Ultrasonic DevicesThe Sonic Mole Chaser doesn’t play music. Instead, every 30 seconds, the sonic pulses penetrate the soil, emitting a penetrating sound to irritate the moles , who is virtually blind and extremely sensitive to sound and vibrations. Using solar mole repellent will encourages moles to leave the property, and it is working conterminously to discourage return visits.Want to learn more about this, please visit www.landefensor.com.

Why do earthworms commit suicide?

They crawl out of the dirt to be able to breathe.  Their tunnels get full of water when it rains, but they have to breathe.  In heavy rain, staying on the dirt is hard, too, so they just crawl.  They have no idea that cement doesn't hold as much water as dirt does, but if they come across some, they'll notice they can breathe on it.  If the rain stops suddenly while they're on the cement (which a worm wasn't built to crawl on in the first place), they may not know which direction to go in to find dirt.  They don't have good eyesight.

Why don't dogs eat mice?

Sometimes they do.We live on a farm and mice are a fact of life. Dog is intensely interested in mice, but had never shown any desire to munch one. One day there was a mouse in a bucket in the garage. How the mouse got into the bucket, I don't know, but he couldn't get out. I was going to pitch said mouse out into the field, when I thought I'd give Dog a look see. I put the bucket down and Dog looked in. Dog's tail goes back and forth, he starts dancing around, this is way interesting for Dog. He keeps poking his head in and then looking at me, tail going like a whirlwind. 'Ohh, what's this?!?!' About the fourth time he looks at me, I see there's a little tail sticking out of his mouth. I say, "Ahh!" the wife says, "Ahh!" Dog gets a confused look, swallows, and then has a look that says, 'Oops, I didn't mean to do that. Don't be angry."Well Dog was no worse the for the experience. That said, I have to be on guard against Dog eating dead moles and dead mice he finds while we are out walking around. These have often been poisoned and it would be not good for Dog to eat them."I didn't mean to eat the mouse"
