Why Did Weed Make Me Feel Sick

After a smoke weed, I feel sick like I have the flu or cold, why?

I've been smoking weed for a few years and never had a problem with it. I usually smoke bud, but recently I got this new trim thats covered with THC. After smoking it, my nose gets really stuffy, I start sneezing all the time, my head gets tight and I get dizzy rushes when I stand up and I also feel very weak. I can't tell if it's coming from the weed, type of weed, or maybe I really am sick, I don't know. Has anyone ever expirenced this, what should I do?

[please only answers from people who know a thing or two about weed. and i really could care less if you don't agree with my lifestyle, guess what, it's my life!]

I feel sick until I smoke weed...?

I'm a 17 year old girl. So it being summer, I've smoked weed pretty much every day. I've noticed that recently I go through waves where I feel like I'm going to puke if I eat and I have this constant nervousness feeling in my stomach. I have no idea why. This will cause me to not eat a lot. However, when I smoke weed (which is usually at night) I feel completely fine and start to get an appetite. Besides this, I usually feel sh itty. Why?

Why did i get sick from smoking weed?

I haven't smoked weed in 8 months, and just yesterday i decided that it was time to try it again right before toy story 3 in 3d. i took one hit and didn't really feel anything, but after the second hit i just coughed so much and instantly felt like total ****. so i walked out from where me and my friends were smoking and just sat feeling all dizzy and **** and wanting to puke. the car ride ride to the movies was better, but i still felt like ****. When we got to the movies i was dizzy, falling down, thinking i was going to barf, and i couldn't see **** and all around me was just bright light. i couldnt even see peoples faces and/or determine who they were. oh and plus i was sweating a **** load. then after that i went into the movie bathroom where i waited around 25 mins before i could get up and go to the movies.
I used to be able to smoke so much more, and not feel anything like this.
my friends felt fine.
What was wrong with me?

Can smoking weed make you sick?

Yes, if you consume too much of it, one of the side-effects is nausea and vomiting. I guess in that way it's similar to having too much to drink. Although alcohol is far more toxic to the human body than THC or CBD (two of the many cannabinoids found in the Cannabis plant). If you want to avoid getting sick, I suggest you only try a small amount (if you're old enough and it's legal where you are of course ;)) and make sure you don't consume it on an empty stomach as it will cause your blood sugar levels to drop and this might contribute to the nausea. Always have a chocolate bar or some fruit handy to give your blood sugar levels a boost, if you suddenly feel a bit queasy.Kind regards,Jeremy

Smoking weed makes me sick?

Actually, smoking pot has made me barf in the past too. Couple possibilities:

1) it was laced with something. Was it harsh and did it make you cough a lot? Did you see it before it was rolled? If there were any crystally looking things, that could be something MORE than just pot.

2) You say you smoked half a blunt. A blunt is big, it's not just a joint. And for your first time, half a blunt could REALLY mess you up.

3) It's your first time! Gotta take it easy at first.

4) For some people, especially those on antidepressants, marijuana can interact with medications and cause things like nausea, vomiting, etc.

Chillax, you're alright. Not so abnormal!

Why do I puke and feel nauseous after smoking weed?

You’re not alone… There is an uncommon syndrome that is very well-documented called cannabis hyperemesis syndrome (CHS). I’ve personally met with two folks that have had it. There are dozens of papers published about it that can be referenced via Google Scholar. The exact mechanism underlying nausea and vomiting associated with cannabis use that is experienced by a fraction of users is not understood, but appears to be very real. Here is an excerpt from the abstract from a 2016 review published in The Journal of Medical Toxicology, “Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome: Diagnosis, Pathophysiology, and Treatment—a Systematic Review.”Fourteen diagnostic characteristics were identified, and the frequency of major characteristics was as follows: history of regular cannabis for any duration of time (100%), cyclic nausea and vomiting (100%), resolution of symptoms after stopping cannabis (96.8%), compulsive hot baths with symptom relief (92.3%), male predominance (72.9%), abdominal pain (85.1%), and at least weekly cannabis use (97.4%). The pathophysiology of CHS remains unclear with a dearth of research dedicated to investigating its underlying mechanism. Supportive care with intravenous fluids, dopamine antagonists, topical capsaicin cream, and avoidance of narcotic medications has shown some benefit in the acute setting. Cannabis cessation appears to be the best treatment. CHS is a cyclic vomiting syndrome, preceded by daily to weekly cannabis use, usually accompanied by symptom improvement with hot bathing, and resolution with cessation of cannabis. The pathophysiology underlying CHS is unclear. Cannabis cessation appears to be the best treatment. You may not have CHS, but you should speak with a physician about your experience.
