Why Did You Just Do That

Why do some people react with, "You didn't just say that!", when I obviously did and they heard me?

It's an expression that really means, "what you said is so far outside the realm of what I have been taught is 'acceptable,' that I can't really believe you said it out loud."People who simply thought exactly what you just said, but didn't have the nerve to say it out loud, will be snorting their beverage of choice out their nose.  It means the same thing.

I have just assumed your gender. What do you do?

Depends on how you do it.I was in a meeting once with this guy who was very into social justice and virtue signaling. Made me look practically conservative. I did not get good vibes from him. Anyway, he was trying to make a point about sexism, and so he asks me:“I assume you identify as a woman?”Ooh, was I boiling mad. Excuse me, bitch, do I not look like a woman to you? Why do you have to assume, you should just know. Are you insinuating that I should say “Nah, I’m a man in a dress.” Saying “I assume you identify as X” to most people will get either confusion or anger that you couldn’t figure their gender out.If you’re going to assume someone’s gender, just do it. Just address the person as whatever you think. Don’t ask because the majority of cis people and frankly I would think most passing trans people will be offended. Most trans people on Quora have answered saying they don’t mind correcting people who make innocent mistakes. So, if someone assumes my gender implicitly, I’m happy, since I am a girl and look like one. If someone tells me that they’re assuming my gender and frames it as a question, I get mad and most likely tell the person so.

If your friend says you just violated the first rule of Dating 101, what did you just do wrong?

Why did the college I applied to move my starting date up?

Like I applied to start attending college in the Fall term of this year, but in my acceptance letter (which I got via email, not regular mail yet) they moved it Summer of this year?

I really don't want that and I don't know why they would just do that without my permission.

Is there anyway I can get my starting date moved back to Fall?

Please help I can't find any information on this online
