Why Didnt My Joint Work

Why are my finger joints so stiff in the morning? This isn't some sort of early-onset arthritis, is it?

First off, see a doctor.I imagine that by now you have. But, if not, please do. Regardless, I'll include this answer for anyone else with similar symptoms. You are on the young side for arthritis but that does not preclude it. Weight lifting, gripping a weight bar tightly and repetitively, could predispose to this. As could other sorts of so-called Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI). RSI goes by various names including Repetitive Trauma and Cumulative Stress and Trauma as well as Overuse Syndrome. Trigger finger, that was mentioned in another answer, is not typically as diffuse as you seem to describe your symotomsFor the sake of completeness, even though you are young, I will include the answer I gave to a related question Why are my hands stiff and painful in the morning?Morning Stiffness, which this sounds like, is typically associated with arthritis.Which arthritis? Usually Rheumatoid (RA) or Ostearthritis (OA) , though others as well.  And conditions such as Lupus and Fibromyalgia. In Rheumatoid arthritis, the stiffness typically lasts longer than in Osteoarthritis. Could be at least a half hour.In Osteoarthritis, generally the symptoms last less than a half hourThere may be exceptions in duration for inflammatory variants (i.e Osteoarthritis can have inflammation to greater or lesser degrees)RA and OA can co-existWhile Carpal Tunnel Syndrome gets much press and is important to know about, and while it may co-exist with arthritis, morning stiffness is not a typical symptom.See your doctor/ a doctor as soon as you can to confirm the diagnosis. This is usually straightforward based on a thorough history and physical supplemented as needed with x-ray and blood tests such as CRP (C reactive protein) and ESR (sedimentation rate).REFERENCES:Morning stiffness and its influence onA reevaluation of the symptom of morni

Joint Bank accounts or NO?

I work in a nursing home. I was talking to a resident today who has been married for over 50 years. She told me her & her husband never had joint checking or joint bank accounts. Didn't even use the same bank. They both had very good jobs. He paid for the house hold stuff (mortgage, utilities.) She paid for the groceries & kids stuff. She didn't even know how much he made an hour.

So my question is.... Do you & your fiance, husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend have joint accounts? If not how do you handle your money now that your committed?

What is the best joint support supplement for a 23 year old?

Hello fellow fitness enthusiasts,

I am only 23, but I've always had bad joints, and I permanently messed up my elbows when I was 17. Because of this I'm very careful when working out.

But recently I've started cutting some fat and for some reason my joints are hurting more than normal.

I only take whey protein and a vitamin supplement at the moment. Should I start taking a joint support supplement? I don't know what are the proper brands or items. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I owe the Navy (DFAS) money from being over paid, took my joint refund last year?

Your husband may be able to file as in injured spouse, but it depends on a bunch of factors. You can go to the IRS tax trail and answer a series of questions that will let you know what form he would need to file. The web address is: http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=141236,00.html. You may also want to talk to a CPA and see of he may be able to just file as Head of Household and claim you as a dependent since you don't have any actual income.

How to heat a joint with no lighter?

I have no lighter or matches and the toaster thing didn't work.
I was thinking that maybe putting some paper to an electric stove and putting it up to the joint might work?

Will liquid nails adhere to joint compound?

My basement walls are concrete and I wanted a way to make them look like drywall. someone suggested that I put joint compound on them, which I did and it didn't work well so I want to cover it.

Can I hang wall panels on this using liquid nails or will the liquid nails not hold the panel, do I have to remove the joint compound?

Is it preferable for a married couple to have a joint account or separate bank accounts?

Married couples should do whatever works best for them - it depends entirely on the couple. We started out with joint accounts. It wasn't a good option for us. Perhaps it was because we'd both been on our own for many years before we married (I was 29, he was 35 when we wed) and weren't used to consulting someone else with regard to our spending. We ended up with more arguments about money than either one of us wanted. So, we began banking separately and divided bills so that each were responsible for certain items. This worked great and the arguing stopped. We operated this way for years. Funnily enough, in the last year, we've slowly moved back to having joint accounts. It just sort of happened without either one of us really being too intentional about it. It's not a problem at all now. Maybe after nearly a decade of marriage, we're finally learning how to communicate better or maybe we trust each other more, who knows?  At any rate, my advice to any couple is to experiment and do what works best for you both.  It's also a good idea to be open to things changing and evolving over time. There is no one right way to do anything and what works now may change further down the road. As with so many things in marriage, when it comes to money it's important to stay open, communicate honestly, and just be kind to each other.  If you're both willing to do that, you'll figure it out.
