Why Do Ameriicans Complain So Much

Why do many Americans complain so much about their own country?

Because America is not that great.American public schools in many areas vary dramatically in quality, not exclusively due to the fact that many states stole funding from public schools and steered it towards private schools upon desegregation. American private schools are extremely expensive. All American Universities charge ridiculously to fellow Americans just because they’re from a a different state (whereas in Canada you pay the same no matter which province you study in).American Medicare and Medicaid is decent in some states but totally sucks in southern states like Louisiana (my uncle did his medical residency there and he told me about how disorganized it has gotten). You have to pay tolls to use a lot of highways (another almost non-existent thing in Canada)If you’re black or hispanic, the system of housing, government resources, public schools, etc everything is rigged against you. (Also applies to a good extent if you’re a poor rural white person)States like Alabama are so poor that they’re using lotteries to raise enough money to meet their budgets, all while their leadership regularly lowers taxes unreasonably and provides excessive tax benefits to the very wealthy.Oh, and also because they have freedom to say whatever they want (out of the 200 countries in the world, at least 180 of them also have this freedom but w.e. I’ll give this one to the US) so they’re very open about their problems.

Why do Americans complain about Gas prices ?

I think we in the UK are among the highest, paying nearly $10/gallon.
I'd love to be in America filling up my tank there... Especially as a I drive a big Dodge truck. Even the price of LPGas here is getting high, now around $5+/gallon.

PI - most other countries don't use diesel, it's just a lot more common than in the states. and the price of diesel is about 20c more per litre than petrol. You guys don't use much diesel as you've always had reasonable gas prices compared to Europe...

Why do Americans complain too much?

I live in the USA but have found the easier things are, the more I complain when things are hard. Compared to the rest of the world, the USA has it easy. Maybe having it so easy.....leads to more complaining when things don't go our way here.

Also....I think many Americans are self absorbed and do not think about others either in the USA or in other countries (although many of those who do so on a political level, seem to think they are experts because they read a few newspaper articles.....though they have never set foot in the countries they support or condemn)

Why do so many Americans complain about education in the US when others cannot even receive an education in other nations?

Your question is a particular case of a general category of questions:Why do so many citizens of X complain about Y in X when others cannot even receive Y in other nations? The answer has nothing to do with Y, it could be education or just anything else. It does not depend on X being USA either. So to give a short answer in simple words: people are seldom satisfied with what they have, especially when it relates to services provided by the government. It tends to happen no matter how rich or poor the country is.Now for the long answer: people in most countries are unaware of what is the situation of education in other countries. If they come to think about it or they go after more information, they may realize that the situation in their country is not as bad as they think it is. Yet, it won't necessarily provide much solace anyway, since most people compare what they have with what they think they should have, not with what with others have. With this in mind, we can rephrase the question: why so many Americans think that the education in America should be better than it currently is?For starters, this might imply that many people believe that the excellence of the education system is the cornerstone for the prosperity of the country, and it's great that so many people think like that! In fact, most American citizens have access to very good education. It's obviously not perfect (it will never be), and we can safely assume that people believe it would be better if significant money was not spent on other lower priority goals, such as warfare.

Why do Americans complain so much about poverty when they don't even know what it is?

True poverty is extreme in third world countries and most Americans have no idea what it is like because they are not exposed to it. I think we do live in a country of cry babies. Even poor people in the projects can get designer clothes and shoes. We also are surrounded by ungrateful people who feel deserving of everything. That is shameless what that kid did, asking you for money to buy sneakers!!! I think if most were exposed to what other peoples daily lives are they would not be so wrapped in their own selfish, unnecessary needs. In a way it is kind of unfair to blame these people for their "way of life" they grew up in a country that more than accepted their selfish behavior, yet they are than crucified for it later. Some of the biggest whiners and most undeserving Americans are the ones in Hollywood, politics and any kind of entertainment. They make loads of unnecessary money whine how Americans are arrogant and ungrateful and need to help the global community. You don't see them giving up their overindulgent lifestyle that could help millions though.

While I certainly agree with you on a lot of points I think the comparison is a little unfair. What is poverty in the USA is different than other countries. I only say this because I did grow up in a low income family as a child and while I can say that I may not have experienced what a child in third world experienced it was no picnic. There were times when I went hungry for several days, not to mention l lived in a welfare community. I experienced not only molestation, sexual, physical and emotinal abuse that often went unnoticed or not acknowledged by others because I was a "welfare kid." There is a stigma when you grow up in a place like that and people DO ignore you and people do starve and lack proper medical care. They are also the people who are too ashamed or embarrased to talk about their life. To this day my parents never bring it up and my mom lies about it because they have come out of it and don't want to admit they were poor. I do get upset when I see these people spending money they don't have on things they don't need.

Why do americans complain so much about america?

Like, seriously? You guys have the best quality of life EVER. You guys make tons of money. Eletronics, cars, food, almost everything is cheap in America. If you work as a waitress or as a bartender you can rent yur home, you can pay your bills, you can live a good life. I don't know why you guys americans complain so much about the next president or anything. You guys will still be the world potency. Do you want to switch with me? Do you want to work as a MF to get paid $1 an hour? Do you want to pay $2000 for a PS4 or a iPhone 7? Do you want to get robbed every single time you take a walk at night? So, please, stop complaining about your country. Please. Look at the life you guys have and then talk to me. Bye

Why do Americans complain so much about Mexicans?

I live in Sweden, (a Scandinavian country, Northern Europe) and we have an immigration problem, as does our neighbour Denmark, but not nearly as bad as ours.

We get huge influxes of Somalian, North African, and Middle eastern refugees into our country. They speak arab, degrade their women, rape swedish women, leech off welfare (which we have the world's most generous welfare system), demand Halal food, are pushing for Shariah law and courts, and commit many violent crimes as well as HUGE riots and car burnings we've had in the past. Our government goes as far as building mosques for them!

And so I come to U.S., and I notice you Americans complaining about "Mexican immigrants", me, personally, I would love to have Mexicans in Sweden! They are western, Christian, speak a latin based language, are hard working, and respect women. Some of our immigrants don't even know how to take showers or open a bag of potato chips (like the Somalians)!!! We get the worst of the worst.

I don't know why you dislike Mexicans so much. Maybe you Americans should come to Europe and open your eyes to what a REAL immigrant invasion is.

Why do so many Americans complain about money but yet they're horrible at managing their finances?

Many reasons:Poor financial education - Most people have little idea about finance. For example, most people don’t know how they are using the 401k program in their company.Poor emotional relationship with money - For such a money-driven society (after all, we are capitalists), we are emotionally stunted when it comes to money. Which is why most marriages that fail, fail over money. Parents and kids have a very difficult time talking about money. Money is a landmine. Many companies benefit from financial illiteracy - Check cashing, tax prep and credit card companies benefit materially from people whose grasp of finance is poor. Car dealerships as well.Get-it-now syndrome - I see software engineers in Silicon Valley with all the latest gadgets and toys and no money in the bank.

Why are Americans always complaining about jobs?

As a recent college grad I'll give my opinion, I think most of the problem comes from the young age of college grads. Most college students are only 21 or 22 years old when they graduate, most likely they have been supported by their parents up to that point and have not had to take on many responsibilities other than school and maybe a part time retail job. Almost every 21 year old that I've ever known is slightly irresponsible and not always career driven, they want to have fun and experience their new adult life (myself included).I didn't go to college right after high school, not only because I didn't know what I wanted to do at 18 years old for the rest of my life, but also because I come from a big family and my parents couldn't afford it. I married young then got divorced a few years later, because of this and because of a job layoff I was 25 when I enrolled for college. I think I had a better appreciation for education at that age compared to when I was 18. I knew how competitive jobs were so I took steps to try to stay ahead of my competition. I couldn't believe how many students never applied for internships.I honestly think parents and high schools need to stop pressuring kids to go to college right after high school. Let them figure out what they want to do first. How is a 17 or 18 year old supposed to know what they want to do for the rest of their life when they haven't even experienced life yet? This is probably why most college grads don't end up working in a field they majored in. The focus should be more on going to college when they are ready, not when society says they should be ready. I think a lot more college grads would find themselves successful if they would have waited a little bit longer.

Why do Cuban-Americans complain so much about Fidel Castro?

Yeah, we all know he is a dictator. Yes, I know it's a communist country. Yes, most of the country is living in the 50's with very basic neccessities for life. Yes, it's a hard life. There are still worse places to live, or die. They don't have genocide, famine, civil war, terrorists, etc. Honestly, if you really think about it, Cubans wouldn't be allowed to come here and stay IF it wasn't for Casto. So, without Castro, their wonderful lives here would NOT be possible. If their president was not communist, they would be in the same boat as the Haitians, where they are sent back when they come here. So, Castro is a good thing for those who make it here to the USA? I wonder if the US government said that every cuban would have to go back to Cuba when Castro is gone, if they would be such complainers?
