What's the overall tension between Black Americans and Latino Americans?
It all depends on where you live. If you live in California where there is tension between Black People and Latinos then of course you’re gonna think this is America as a whole.If you live in Chicago black people hispanics and Latinos get along just fine. I believe it all depends on how good the two communities know each other.In Chicago and New York most Hispanics and Latinos you see have been there for years and many of them come from 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation immigrants. So they have been around black people during the time of black power, brown power, yellow power, red power movements. And have historically faught for each other’s causes. East Coast Hispanics and Latinos are also more familiar with the foundation of America,and why things are the way they are, because they have had the lessons from their grandparents and great grandparents .In California, you have some Hispanics and Latinos that are or whose parents come from the civil rights era. Then you have the 1st generation immigrants who come to America with this guilded age view of America and their only insight to the black community is through Hollywood, media, without knowing the history behind it. They will sometimes feel intimidated by black people, have had negative experience with black people, give in to the negative propaganda of black people and think that black People are dangerous and poor.Then you have black people mad at Hispanics in California because they feel like they are taking over their neighborhoods, and due to high immigration they are being forced to learn Spanish to get a better job when they feel like they shouldn’t have to. So there is hatred on both sides. But surprisingly, you do get the most interracial relationships between Latinos and black People in California.Of course I am just using California because it is a big representation of West coast vs East Coast. East Coast has a lot more history in my opinion, so I don’t see that bigotry on that side of States as much as the West side.
Growing up in Los Angeles around gangs?
How is it growing up in Los Angeles with all of the gangs around? (I know that if you're raised around that then it's different from someone else looking in.) Do the gang members really make you choose a side to be on? Is it the same for guys & girls?
Why does the American media depict almost every black person as "ghetto"?
@TJ Punk: I'm not saying the media is always showing black people as poor, and literally living in ghettos. I should have phrased my words better. Just some of the things they say.. and what not.. its like black people have to have certain catch phrases and what not, and talk in a particular manner. There's a lot of successful black people in America though, it's just that black people are like 10% of all Americans, so the ones who are successful don't get much limelight as its not a large percentage of Americans, anyways. Also I acknowledge that IRL whites generally have more money than blacks. But did you know that african immigrants are the "model minority"? google it. even more so than asians. @ eric idle: I don't understand why people feel the need to group other people like that, though. Why is it so hard to just view each person as an individual, instead of having ideas about them when you don't even know them
Is it legal to kill a coyote and hang it on a fence near a public road?
I just moved to a rural desert location and was completely in shock over what we saw. We were driving down a county access road and on the left were several dead coyotes hanging from the fence line. Obviously the farmers killed them and hung them on display. When I asked some of the locals, I was told they do it to ward off other coyotes (YEAH RIGHT!) and they said it is okay to hang them and not to bother reporting it because nothing will be done about it and all I will do is make the locals mad. Well what about the horror my family endures driving down the access road which is the only road we all use to get to the highway? My children sit in the car with their faces covered until we reach the highway. How can killing a coyote and hanging it on a fence for everyone to see legal?? I would love some SERIOUS input on this. How can I attract a gangsta boy?
Well, you see, I have this friend that is a gangsta (not drunk or the violence type) and he likes hip hop and that. I think I am invisible to him or something. I want to be more visible to him, because I sorta have a crush on him. How can I attract a gangsta hottie? I have round face, medium hair, normal body, but I am not girly or tomboy. Let me guess, to be a gangsta girl, I have to act tomboy? I'm gonna suck. I don't know what tomboys like and all, I just want to have a relationship with him!!!
