Why Do Cons Call Me A

Why can Liberals be called "libs," but you can't call conservatives "cons?"?

I asked a question and to save characters abbreviated conservatives to "cons." A conservative went postal, accusing me of saying all conservatives are criminals. and saying I can't discuss the issues, but can only call people names.

I use Libs for liberals, Reps for Republicans, Dems for Democrats, and cons for conservatives. No one has ever taken offense before, nor was their any reason to as I never meant any insult.

What would be the cons of calling a potential employer after an interview?

I was a fortune 500 hiring manager for a DoD contracting company. In the interview I would give my business card. I was very clear towards the end of the interview when *I* would be getting in contact with them. I was pretty fast as I did not like dragging things out. My interviewees would hear generally within a week.Now. Although a phone call would not necessarily make me change my mind about a candidate in the negative, it also did not show that they were a better pick. I actually prefer to be emailed, as it is not an interruption of my day like a phone call. Some managers might take offense at a phone call vs. an email.*DO* - Send a follow-up email ASAP, thanking them for the interview. Reiterate your qualifications and what *YOU* bring to the table, and how you can be a value add. Include your contact information. If you have not heard from them in say, 2 weeks a follow-up email would suffice.

What are the pros and cons of telling my 14 year old step son to call me mom if he wants?

My step-kids all call me by my name. My one stepson has kids. They call me grandfather. They do not know that I am step yet (they are under 5). Around school and stuff like that everyone knew that I was step. I was not going to try anything to confuse anyone with their real dad. I also did not want to cause friction with their real dad. If we were at the mall and someone referred to me as their dad I did not correct because it was not important in that situation.I am their stepdad and they call me by my name. Their mom was my kids stepmom and they called her by her name. All the kids new their original dad and mom.

Pros and cons of Dell Inspiron 1525?

I am going to get a laptop and I'm thinking of getting the Dell Inspiron 1525. I'm really just gonna use it to write papers and stuff for school, surf the internet and listen to music. What's the right amount of hard drive space and memory for my needs? I'm basically computer retarded when it comes to tech nonsense so keep it simple.

O also if you own this laptop could you give me some feedback or if you own a different laptop and really like it that would also be helpful.

Why do cons say such bizarre things like, "Kim Jong-un is a liberal"?

Actually by today's standard JFK would be a Conservative !

Don't know why anyone would say Jong-Un is a liberal though.

I suppose the same reason that liberals call Hitler a Conservative.

And Conservatives call him a liberal.

In fact, Hitler was both depending on the issue.

He jokingly called me a "hoe"?

I think I might need to find a more mature boyfriend. Mine is 22 y/o and I called him a punk today so he called me a b**ch. I was like wtf and he was like what am I supposed to say back to punk? Then he said okay, hoe. How disrespectful is that!? Eh what do you think?

Why do libs and cons throw the word "fascism" around so loosely and incorrectly?

Some members of both political tendencies today claim the U.S. is "fascist."

Where's the mass, extra-state movement, whose members then get incorporated into the existing state?

And part of the definition of fascism is "physical annihilation of political opponents." So for a lib or a con to claim the U.S. is fascist is the same as announcing "I don't exist."

Today's loose usage reminds me of the whiny, fake-leftists of the 70s, who claimed we were under fascism every time a cop hit a protester.

To claim the U.S. is "fascist" is to whitewash the libs and the cons. Both lib and con officials order their cops to bang heads, spy on us, and bomb people. Pretending that their "business as usual" is somehow fascist means you are ignoring the actual fascists, and also that you are fostering illusions in the libs and cons ,and their fake "democracy."

Do you think the cons that personal text messages do more harm with taking some of the personal, human, element of meeting face to face (i.e. breakups over text) than they benefit? Obviously not professionally but personal text messages.

I love sarcasm, but it can get me in trouble tbrough text. In person, it is obvious there is no love lost or much of anything to read into. Communication is about so much more than words or even speech. Texting raises the possibility to have a miscommunication. As a rule, i don't text emotionally charged communication and if anyone attempts to therapize, vent, or discuss by text, i write “call me”. If they continued to text, I would write “call me”.The phone isn't full faculty communication either, but at least you can hear tone of voice. If someone I had a meaningful relationship with, broke it off via text, I'd be concerned for them. It is a sub-human thing to do in most cases, degrading to both parties, and lacks a sane cultural vision that honors and values human relationships.
