Why Do I Get So Angry When People Drink

Why do people get mad when you stop drinking?

They do? Would you like to change seats with me? People around me get mad when I start drinking…I assume you are around people who like to binge drink. When you stop drinking you are demonstrating control. The people around you can start feeling insecure because your discipline is putting their confidence in themselves to question. The natural defence is to antagonize you and get you back drinking. There are two things you can do. You can simply ignore them and stand by your values. This can, however, antagonize the rest further.ORYou can buy a coke or lemonade and claim you are drinking vodka coke or a gin and tonic. Most people will be too drunk to even ask.

Why do I get angry when I'm drunk?

Alcohol shuts off the executive function of your brain, the function that allows you to foresee consequences of actions and to choose rational behavior.Alcohol leaves you at the mercy of your feelings and emotions and yours, in the amygdala, are anger and fear. You are ignoring fear and anger evidently rules. Not everyone has the same reaction to alcohol that you do and, since you are aware of its affect on you, please either drink less or find some other way of … (is this relaxing?) chilling out.AA is a good option here.As things stand, you are on track to a very bad result as a consequence of drinking AND then becoming angry. There are others who’d have no problem engaging you in a fight and that almost never ends well.

Why do I get so angry when I'm drunk?

It never used to happen, but now when I drink I just get really abusive and angry over absolutely nothing. And when I'm sober I'm the complete opposite, really relaxed and even deep down nothing really makes me that angry. I was trying to work out if it had something to do with the type of alcohol I was drinking? (Beers seemed to make things worse?). I really want to sort this out because it is changing a lot of people's opinions of me, but I don't want to just give up drinking all together...

Why do I get so angry when I drink around my wife but when I'm alone I'm completely fine?

You drink around your wife because you want to feel better instead of angry. I can assure you that this is a form of escapism on your part and it could lead to alcoholism which will ruin your life like it did mine. You should be able to discuss things without becoming angry. You need a course on assertiveness. Your whole life will improve. Drinking your way through problems is a cop out. You don't want to face the problem so you drink and make the situation worse.Alternatively you secretly want to drink and create the fight to provide you with an excuse to drink.I went to America to detox and get sober. Best thing I ever did was join AA. First class organisation. If you have a problem with drink…go to Alcoholics Anonymous. No one sorts the problem out better than the Americans.

Why do I get sad and angry when I drink alcohol?

There are two main reasons for this.Alcohol intoxication causes greater stimuli response due to heightened attentional focus. An intoxicated person will pick up on the salient cues.Alcohol intoxication impairs executive cognitive functions in prefrontal cortex which is responsible for emotional regulation, inhibitions and judgement.Inability to regulate emotions will cause different effect on different people.[1]It can make many people really aggressive and angry and can make some people really sad. Intoxication also affects motor cortex and that is why walking on a straight line is not easy for an intoxicated person.Due to impaired prefrontal cortex and effect on executive function, people show poor judgement while intoxicated. It is best to avoid it if you show any symptoms of losing control.References:The Effects of Alcohol, Emotion Regulation, and Emotional Arousal on the Dating Aggression Intentions of Men and WomenContent: The Intoxicating Effects of Alcohol Depend on the Brain Region AffectedFootnotes[1] Image on duke.edu

Why do people drink so much alcohol in ireland ?

Go back under your bridge , i'm irish born and bred and i don't even drink alcohol, i gave it up a few years ago.

Why pick on ireland ? why not pick on u.k? they have 24 hour pubs and clubs every single day of the week serving alcohol non stop to anyone over 18 who can stand up and order it no matter what time it is .

Have you been to Germany ? you should see how they drink .

And have you been to Texas in the united states ? you should see them neck back alcohol and how proudly they promote the stuff .
And theres quite a few other places in the states that have a fairly heavy drinking culture too.
Oh and at least we don't eat junk food on a regular basis like the americans do , seems americans cannot live with a mcdonalds or KFC , hence why america has such an appalling obesity rate .

Nothing wrong with the occasional drink as long as its in moderation , many of my friends drink but they dont get langers every night of the week .

Seems to me you are just hanging onto the old worn out stereotype of ireland and irish people in a desperate sad attempt to get an angry response from us .
You really should find something else to do with your time.

Why do people drink alcohol when they're depressed or sad?

escape

How do I stop getting upset when people around me drink?

Just clearly tell your colleagues that you don't like smoking or drinking and tell them not to force you again. If they are your true friends then they will surely understand your point of view and if they not then try to make a strictly professional relationship with them, as it is always said that friends who do not accept you as what you are, are not your friends !!!!
