Why do i look so ugly in pictures?
There are tons of things that can affect the way you look in a photo, optical properties of the camera's lens, a lack of light, the wrong color balance set in the camera, Mars not being aligned with Venus, that time of the month, holding a camera 18 inches from your face and expecting the flash not to make you look like Casper the friendly ghost, but what may be most obvious is perhaps you just aren't very photogenic. I know....call me kooky. Being photogenic has little to do with the way you look, by the way. It has more to do with how you carry and feel about yourself. And the way you feel contributes to how your personality comes through your body language, and how you carry yourself. So if you're a girl who doesn't feel she is attractive to begin with, there won't be an abundance of confidence present when you are the subject of a photograph. Being photogenic is being able to transmit your personality through your photograph. And as the cliche saying goes, beauty comes from within. I don't know why you are 13 and feel you're not pretty, perhaps your parents, family, or friends don't say it enough, maybe they don't care, or maybe they don't even know you feel this way, but there's no reason why you should. So if you want to considered "attractive", you have to act the part. It seems to me that you just have a self-esteem problem. A camera can distort reality if misused, but doesn't make you look ugly. If that is what you see, it doesn't matter how you are photographed, you still feel the same. Work on you, and perhaps you'll be more photogenic.
Why do I look so ugly and fat in pictures?
I feel like I have to take literally about 60 pictures to find a few I like of myself. Pictures really make me look like a different person! They make me look huge, weird and just overall ugly. Please don't be like, "well you're picture is pretty so you're lying-" It's one of the few, remember. I know there is nothing I can do, (even my friends agreed that I don't look how I look in pictures btw,) but why is this? Am I just not a photogenic person? I tend to get really upset and down by this because I feel like the only girl that doesn't love taking pictures..

But when I look in the mirror (every mirror I look into, btw) I look decent. I don't even look like myself in pictures. >.< People tell me I'm pretty, ands when I look in the mirror, I believe them. But when I take a picture of myself, I look like a monster and think how anyone could possibly think I look good. I probably have 5 good pictures of me, and the rest I look like a beast. The mirror has to be telling the truth though, right? I mean, a mirror is an exact reflection of you. The mirror sees whats standing in front of it. Even though everything is backwards in a mirror, my looks still must be the same, right? xD

why is it that: I look good in: Mirrors Webcams Pics/videos i make of myself and Look really extremely ugly in: Pics/Videos taken my others And those walmart family pics LOL and passport pictures ugh i hate it though cause it brings my self esteem down when i look at those pics but then i see my self in my self taken pics and videos and web and i feel pretty i am so confused? people tell me im pretty. :S in those other pics i feel i look fat, dark, and just ugly
Look ugly in pictures?
1) focus your eyes just slightly above the camera lens, move your face forward a bit, and tip down your chin. 2) put your tongue behind your teeth and smile which will relax your face. 3) keep your arms by your side, but not glued there. to look natural they should be away from your body a little. 4) test drive clothing against a white wall with an indirect natural light source- it will show whether blue really is your best color. 5) as a rule, avoid patterns 6) photos exaggerate everything, so go easy on the makeup- just a little mascara and lip gloss if you're under 30 7) practice the classic model pose: turn your body three quarters of the way toward the camera with one foot in front of the other and one shoulder closer to the photographer. when you face forward your body tends to look wider. 8) for standing photos, belly in, butt tight, shoulders back, spin straight. 9) study photogenic people and photos in which you look best- look at your best angle. you were probably laughing or having a good time. capturing someone when they are relaxed or most animated usually makes for the best results. 10) to feel at ease, try closing your eyes, then opening them slowly just before the photo is taken.
Why do I look ugly in pictures but not in the mirror?
In a mirror you see the reverse(reflected image) of your outward appearance.This is what YOU see every day.In a photo you see an unreversed image of yourself, or what others always see.To you, everything is exactly backwards when you look at a photo, It is not what your brain expects to see. You feel a sense of something being wrong, yet your brain cannot quite grasp it.This may lead to your feelings that you are not as cute in a photo as in real time.I assure you, you are as beautiful as you believe.Also, your photographer may just suck.
Why do I look ugly in the mirror but good in pictures?
I doubt you look ugly but anyways.The main reason people prefer to see themselves through a selfie lens rather then in the mirror is because of way mirrors reflect thingsMirrors reverse everything in horizontal direction. Stand in front of a mirror and lift your right hand. It looks as if your reflection is lifting their left hand. You see.Mirrors don't actually show you. They show your exact reverse.
How come i look ugly in pictures??

Why do I look ugly in pictures but in the mirror I look decent?
Every time I try to take a picture of myself or someone takes a pic of me I look awful. Of course, my friends always say I look good ( I think there just being nice). But the thing is in the mirror I look pretty good. I kind of feel depressed about it and I wanted to know if what I look like in the mirror is more accurate then my camera. Or vice versa. In pictures my face always looks fat and huge. Any advice?:( ~Rachel
