Why Do I Lose At Everything I Set My Mind To

Why do I always lose things?

"Noooooooo, nooooo please don't say irresponsibile!" - why not - you obviously are - and it's 'irresponsible'.

Can you REALLY do anything you set your mind to?

if you really set your mind to it and never give up then yea =)

I've lost direction in life. I've lost everything: my family, my friends, my job and my self-belief. I'm so lost, how can I find my way again? Is it possible for a person to start again? If it is, where do I start?

Take it one thing at a time and be very practical. One thing at a time means: Don't overthink things. When there is one thing to do, do it. Don't think too much about other things or what will happen after. Life need not be complicated: One thing always follows another. Take a step. Then take the next step.Be very practical means: Do things. Get into real, physical action as much as possible. This will get you out of thinking loops. Manual work is very good - someone else suggested picking up litter until you find something better; that is a very good proposal. Find someone or something to help with. (Picking up litter helps everybody.) If you meet someone that needs help, help him. When the job is done, ask for advice on what to do next, if you don't know the next step yourself. (You have already asked here on Quora. That's cool, in fact that is the start that you have asked about. You are on the way. Keep going.) Keep yourself and your things in order: Maintain personal hygiene and keep your place tidy. You may want to decide on a daily routine and stick to it. Living in community can help with this. Seek people out that you like and learn from them. How do they live their lives? Where do they take their strength from?Meditation and prayer can help with getting in touch with fundamentals of life and in re-finding direction. Try them. Allow somebody to teach you if you don't know how. This may sound strange: Try to enjoy this time. In the middle of the pain that you are experiencing now, you may also find that you are fundamentally free.I trust that you can make it back. All the best to you.

Does losing everything really set you free?

Non-attachment doesn’t mean being cold as a stone. Emotions don’t cease to exist as you learn to let go. You just relate to them differently because you understand their ephemeral nature. And that, thank goodness, means there’s a lot less to get riled up about. They may have moments when impatience or frustration arises, too. They’re ultra human, and not indifferent in the least. But, they don’t entangle themselves in these emotional states by firing up aversion for the “negative” or wanting to extend the “positive.” They allow emotions to rise and dissolve. They don’t feed emotions, fuel drama, or express distress by engaging in knock-on negative behaviors. They have perspective. So yes it does. The True Meaning of Non-Attachment and How It Sets You Free

Why do I always lose things and what can I do to keep from losing things?

Everyone loses things once in a while. However, if it’s constant, there is a cause. One of the most common is ADD/ADHD. Others include short-term memory issues and eyesight problems. I am familiar with the ADD version.Instead of mindfully setting down your keys when you walk in, you just walk in. Your hand lays your keys down while your mind is doing other things. You don’t have a chance to plan ahead or place things sensibly. Similarly, when you leave, you don’t think about all the things you need to pick up.My kids remember things because they’re on ADD meds. I don’t. I remember things because I use a myriad of little tricks. I also forget stuff sometimes, but the tricks help.Sometimes, I make lists. When I bring extra stuff to work, I literally make a list like so:keyscoffee cuplaptopmousepurseMy list includes the obvious stuff that I’m going to forget. I’ve also been known, upon finishing my coffee, to drop the coffee cup into my purse so I won’t forget it. Another little trick is to create a habit to always, always check for my phone. Getting groceries. Phone? Going to work. Phone? Walking across the room. Phone? There are gadgets for sale that track keys, phones, etc. I have seriously considered getting one, but the good ones are kind of pricey. They will even ring your bluetooth-enabled phone if you walk away without your tracked item. The more solutions you have, the better you will do.

Why do brides lose their mind while planning the wedding?

A wedding is one day that a lot of women have been looking forward to for a very long time and they want it to be perfect. You get one shot and can spend a LOT of money on an event that lasts a few hours so of course that would stress anyone out. There are also a lot of emotions that go with planning something as special as a wedding as well as family factors that sometimes hinder a sane mind set during the planning process.

I've lost everything. How do I start over? I’m tired of the constant cycle of failure I see myself in.

In the year 2011, just like you, I had lost everything. And by everything - I mean EVERYTHING.But unlike you - I didn’t have the strength to get back up and fight again. So I thought suicide was the only optionAnd I chronicled this journey of mine on videoWhich after many years - I uploaded on YouTube(I have posted the video link in the end)Today, however, I have not only come back to where I wasI am in a much better place. So how did I do it?Here are few pieces of advice I can suggest. You must be mentally strong and be determined to fight onKeep in mind HOPE is NOT a strategy - Be practical, realistic, and responsible. The real world operates differently.Make a list of all the reasons you failed and promise yourself never to repeat those mistakes againAsk anyone and everyone you know for helpTake whatever people give you - big or smallRemember all those people who helped you and never forget all those who deserted you - especially when you needed them. The ones who stuck to you in bad times - keep them forever. The rest - get rid of themGrab every opportunity to survive and succeedSurround yourself with powerful thoughts, emotions and feelings - (social media only look at inspirational, motivational and powerful stuff)Have a clear vision of where you want to go nextMake sure you take one step at a time - Just one step. And that is all that matters - and until you reach there - do not think of the next oneCelebrate every small victory but be very attentive about the failuresEvery penny counts - save every bit of itEnsure every action, every thought and every decision you take hence forth - contributes to your clear visionDo not get into vices or bad habits - Drinking alcohol, being depressed or hanging around with negative people who only give you sympathy is not a solutionKeep a journal or video or pictures (or all) of these moments. Because one day when you achieve success - all these moments will not only inspire you - it will change someone else’s life too. From a guy who was penniless on the streets of India in 2011.Loy Machedo
