Why Do My Pictures Go Blurry On Facebook

Why is my facebook profile picture blurry only on the profile box?

I don't know why either, and it has been very frustrating, but I found a solution that worked, although it's a little tedious:

1. Instead of directly uploading via the "Edit/Change Profile Picture" route, upload the photo on on a different album, old or new.

2. Tag yourself in it.

3. Go to the album, RIGHT CLICK on the desired picture and click "Open in New Window" or "Open in New Tab". This is important, because Step 4 doesn't work on "hovering windows" the kind that pops up when you just left click a photo.

4. On the new tab or window, scroll down to the bottom of the photo and click "Make this my profile picture."

5. Facebook will allow you to crop it, and no matter how high-res it is, or low res (as long as it's not less than 180px in width, I guess), it will come out clear on your profile picture box.

*SIGH* I just wish it weren't so complicated though! If you come up with a better solution, let me know!

Why do my Facebook pictures come out pixelated/blurry?

I just created a Facebook for one of my businesses and now I am trying to upload pictures to make it look more professional. Unfortunately, when I upload photos to it, they come out pixelated/blurry (And I'm using this to help advertise my products). I never used to have this problem until recently. How do I go about enhancing the quality on there? I know it's not the actual image. The actual image is smooth and clear (Png file. Don't know if that has anything to do with it).

How do I make sure my designs don't look blurry on Facebook?

While Facebook will always apply compression to your uploaded photos, there are some ways to limit the effect. Here are some of the key tips if you decide to upload to Facebook directly:Upload pictures that are at least 2048 pixels wide: According to Facebook’s guidelines, 2048px is the ideal width for high resolution images. Your images will still be compressed, but if they’re uploaded at a higher resolution to begin with, the effect may not be as noticeable. This is best used for photographs.Create “High Quality” albums when uploading: Facebook has a high quality option, but it’s buried. To enable it, create a new photo album. While you’re creating the album, check the box that says “High Quality.” Now, any photos that are uploaded to this album will be stored in larger, less compress file sizes.Crop cover photos to 851px by 315px: Also per Facebook’s own recommendations, cover photos should ideally be 851px by 315px. Anything smaller than this and your cover photo will look stretched and pixelated. You can’t eliminate Facebook’s compression entirely, but if you’re taking the time to upload your own photos, you may as well make the best of them. For more Tips, Tricks and Tools please visit our websiteHome - clicknsnap.org

When I share Instagram pictures on Facebook (straight from the Instagram app) why do they sometimes appear there (on Facebook) in low resolution?

Instagram only uploads low-res images to its own service, so sharing from IG to FB will naturally result in a low-res image being uploaded to FB. For this reason, I always upload first to IG, then create a separate upload of my original, uncropped, image to Flickr. The Web service, http://IFTTT.com/ will then take over for me and automatically uploads the high-res version of my image to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and 500px.Rich »∵«http://twitter.com/RichTatum
