Why Do The Braves Always Choke In October

Always October?

Since the postseason began, each MLB team has been sporting "Always October" on their jackets and hoodies. So what exactly does "Always October" mean? I cannot justify anything that seems to make sense and I can't find a source that explains the slogan's origin.

What is the greatest "choke" in sports history?

The Falcons blowing a 25-point lead in Super Bowl 51:For those reading this answer who don’t know much about American Sports, the Superbowl is our equivalent to the World Cup, as it’s the most watched event in the US every year.In that match up was the New England Patriots, a team that no one outside of Boston and their bandwagon fans wanted to win another championship, as they have been on top of the League since the turn of the Millennium,The team they were facing was the Atlanta Falcons, a team that had never won a championship before and were always down on their luck. They had built a dominant offense to make it to the Superbowl, and had most of the country rooting for them. For three quarters of the game, the Falcons were dominant as they built up a 25 point lead near the end of the Third Quarter. Hopes were high for Atlanta, as most people watching the game, including myself, thought the Patriots time was up.That was the fatal mistake. In the final quarter of the game, the Falcons offense grew complacent, just as New England was starting to come back, tearing apart the exhausted Atlanta Defense. The final quarter ended in a 28–28 tie, leading into overtime, where whoever scores the first points, wins the game, and the championship. The Patriots got the ball back, and scored those final points needed to win the game, and to the disappointment of many, including myself, their fifth championship. After blowing a 25 point lead in 15 in game minutes, the Falcons would be mocked and scorned by the rest of the league by choking in front of the whole country in the most important game.

I keep choking on liquids everyday. What doctor should I see?

Of the various potential causes for dysphagia for liquids or aspiration (both of which cause the symptoms described) the Otolaryngologist (ENT) among the specialists is the most likely to find the cause, and perhaps help you to resolve it. If you have ALS, he will recognize it and have you see a neurologist and speech therapist. Most causes deep in the esophagus would likely cause dysphagia for solids +/- liquids. The other answers here do not seem to make the distinction between problems with solids and liquids.e.g vocal cord problems would more likely cause liquid problems with aspiration and cough. Esophageal strictures, more likely problems with solids long before liquids.

Which World Series you think is the best of each decade?

1905-Christy Mathewson Pitches 3 complete game shutouts as NY Giants beat Phila. A's. 1912- Red Sox win finale in Boston on a dropped flyball vs. NY Giants in 9th inning of game 7. 1924- Washington Senators beat NY Giants in 9th inning of Game7 on a bad hop single. Yanks' Bevens loses no hitter and game 4 on a 2 out pinch double by Dodgers' Lavagetto. Bklyn. wins game 6 on circus catch by Al Gionfriddo at the old lf bullpen gate in Stadium. Yanks still win Game 7 methodically. 1956-Larsen's Perfect game 5 rallies Yankees back from 2-0 series deficit to 3-2 lead in Series. Yankees win Game 7 9-0 at last Series game ever at Ebbets Field. 1960- Mazeroski walkoff homer sinks Yankees in Game 7 at Forbes Field 10-9. Most exciting game I've ever seen. Yanks outscore Pirates 55-27and stilll lose. Stengel fired soon after. 1975- Incredible Cincinnati win over Boston. What caused the 2001 Mariners to choke in the Playoffs?

What do you think was some of the big differences that that Seattle Mariners did in the Regular season in 2001 that they failed to do in the post season against the Yankees. Was it starting pitching, careless errors, bad middle relieve pitching, closer break down, Ichiro played bad, Edgar, Olerud, Boone etc what and who was the most instrumental aspect to the Mariners meltdown in the post season of the 2001 season do you think

Why do some Phillies fans get upset with Jose Reyes' celebrations? Do they know what they're in for with K-Rod?

That's not even taking into consideration that it took a 6-2 comeback in the 9th inning and a 7-0 comeback from the 5th. The Mets bullpen sucked so bad that even the Pirates overcome a 4-1 lead after the 7th inning on a one day Monday game during the summer. That was after the Pirates loss nearly every game on a terrible road trip, after they traded Bay, Nady and Marte and the Mets were actually kind of hot at that point.

For that team to have been in nice position to win 13 games in head to head match up, following losing 15 out of 18 the previous year, that's just sad.
Who even knows if the Phillies will be competitive next season? Look at the Cards from '06 to '07. Without an 88-0 bullpen which will inevitable go down, a closer who's had arm problems, depending on a 46 year old on a multi-year contract as your 3 starter, no right-handed bat outside of Werth, including a 50 game missing steroid using Romero and possibly Utley for some time, you guy's might go down real hard.

Who is most likely to win the 2017 World Series?

In my opinion, the Indians are the clear answer.Going into the 2016 season, Michael Brantley, the Indians’ centerfielder, was projeced to be the AL MVP. 11 Games into the season, however, Brantley suffered a season-ending injury. Also, star pitcher Carlos Carrasco injured his pitching arm in early september. Despite this, the Indians won 94 games and were inches from a World Series title. They will go into 2017 stronger than ever, with arguably the most talented team in the MLB, with (most likely) Yan Gomes catching, Edwin Encarnacion at first, Jason kipnis at second, José Ramirez at third, Francisco Lindor at shortstop, Michael Brantley, Lonnie Chisenhall, and likely a Brandon Guyer/Tyler Naquin platoon in the outfield, and Carlos santana as the DH (possibly playing first base as well). Their starting rotaion will be capped by studs Corey Kluber, Carlos Carrasco, Trevor Bauer, and Danny Salazar, with a stacked bullpen containing Andrew Miller and Cody Allen. The Indians are the team to beat going into 2017.The Cubs will not be nearly as strong, but will still be a 94+ win powerhouse. Even tbough they lost Chapman, they will still have a star closer in all-star Wade Davis. They will have Jon Lester and Kyle Hendricks coming off of career years, with Arrieta, Lacky, and Mike Montgomery. If Bryant continues his dominance and Rizzo’s bat stays similar, the Cubs eill be just fine. The one thing the Cubs are missing in 2017 is a leadoff hitter. Candidates for the job include Ben Zobrist, Addison Russell, and Kyle Shwarber. The Cubs 2017 season hinges on consistent starting pitching, as they showed in 2016 with an amazing year on the mound, along with the 184 million dollar man Jason Heyward. If he looks like the Jason Heyward we saw in 2015 in St. Louis, the Cubs will be a 100 win force again in 2017.My predictions for the top 4 teams:1)Indians2)Cubs3)Dodgers4)Nationals
