Why Do Women Still Wear Make Up In The 21st Century

Do men like women who wear makeup?

Do men like women who wear makeup? For the most part, yes, we do. Or rather, we like it when women wear makeup. Whether or not we like who you are as a person has little to do with makeup. However, I’ve been told, then observed, that most guys don’t know we like it when women wear makeup. When a guy says we like it when girls don’t wear makeup, most of us are probably picturing this. Now, as far as I can tell, this girl has a little makeup around her eyes and lipstick. There’s probably more going on, but I’m not skilled enough to tell you what.Guys are so used to this low-key makeup, many of us think this is what no makeup looks like. We’re so accustomed to eyeliner and such that we don’t consciously realize its there. When many guys think of a girl with heavy makeup, there’s a good chance that something like this is the mental image he has. Now, if you’re into this look, she looks pretty good. Its a lot of makeup, but still well done. You also have a more classical look that’s become popular, with smokey eyes and oxblood lipstick. I’m a big fan of this look for a night out. I especially like a heavy smokey eye if the gal has very light colored eyes. The contrast is intoxicating. You can go super-dramatic too, and still look striking.Seriously, hot damn!Of course, you can go completely off the rails too.But when a guy says he likes girls who don’ wear makeup, chances are that he’s probably not picturing this.Guys are very visual. Straight guys like pretty women, adjusting pretty for local cultural norms. I presume gay men like pretty men, for manly values of pretty. Maybe rugged. I’m not honestly sure. The point is, yes, most guys, knowingly or unknowingly, like it when women wear makeup.Of course, the only reason I know all of this is that I write, and writing requires research. And when I started writing a character who is a fashionista (learned that word too), holy crap were my eyes opened. Because as much as most guys like women with makeup, we also generally know very little about it.-For more, read Murphy's Beauty Blog (aka I want to meet Gal Gadot!)

Leo women aren't manly!?

Not talking about masculine and feminine signs. I am posting this because someone said Leo women were manly. First, zodiac signs do not define what you are like, Sandra Bullock is a feminine Leo. Michelle Rodriguez is Cancer (usually known for their gentleness and softness) but she kicks assez and is rather tomboyish. It's 21st century, women aren't supposed to be feminine and men aren't obligated to be masculine. It's a choice. There are women who seek sex and are players and there are also guys who seek for a family and love from the fairytales. Stop stereotyping and gendering!

Why do most men find black women unattractive unless they have what we deem as stereotypical white features?

Well, first you have to take into account the dominant group.

If you take a look at Black-White relations, the power has always went to the Whites and the Blacks were either oppressed, enslaved, or devalued. There has always been this belief that if you want to be valuable and admired, you have to be white.

It's an awful, awful result of white oppressiveness.

Now take into account that aesthetics results from cultural acceptance. Isolated African tribes LOATHE the appearance of the white person. It's hideous. They look like their insides were turned out. Ghostly. Dead. So unappealing.

But they're isolated so they've never had to accept white power. They don't experience many white people -- and their culture does not have to accept them as the source of freedom.

But urban third and first world countries that the English and French once ruled all dominated the culture. It was difficult for anyone darker than white to be recognized as a person.

Now although racist superiority is not taught like it once was, our parents and their parents all experienced some of these teachings. Even if they did not pass down these teachings, we learn these lessons from interactions.

White men still, overall, have the power AND they are trying to keep it this way. Minority groups are usually under-represented in positions of power. Lessons do not have to be verbally taught in order for them to be accepted.

Everyone likes to believe they are valuable and everyone wants at least the opportunity for power: the most oppressed group-- black men-- realize on some level that the light women are associated with money and power and light children are associated with opportunity.

White men control the media and they definitely encourage this nonsense.

Would it be easier to tell my parents about my wearing makeup and women's clothing before bluntly coming out?

Which would lead to less awkwardness? Telling my parents I like men or telling them that I like wearing women's clothing? My theory is that if I just tell them I wear women's clothing and makeup it may lead them to believe that I'm also gay meaning I wouldn't have to say it to their faces. My family is really awkward when it comes to sex and we just don't talk about it. My mom found all of my lipstick and never said anything... I'm pretty sue my parents would be fine with it but since my mom's discovery they have really been trying to talk me into liking manlier things which was throwing me off a little. For example, telling me to buy cologne instead of perfume and if I buy a necklace my mom would go "That's DEFINITELY for girls". Only till my mom found my lipstick did she start saying things like that. Another problem I have is that out of both my mom and dad's brothers and sisters, I'm the only child. My being gay is kind of the stop in the family name which really puts a lot of pressure on me. I'm my dad's first and only son and I really don't want to discourage my parents. + my grandparents are incredibly christian and VERY old fashioned.
I've asked a lot of questions like these on Yahoo! Answers and never got a good answer that actually helped. Maybe I just want some sympathy...
Either way, your answer is VERY much appreciated and I apologize for any errors in grammar or punctuation, I'm a little antsy writing this question. :-)
