Why Do You Think Kids Shows Are Turning To Crap

Why are kids shows such crap nowadays?

Dude nothing will be like the old days. Cartoons(and shows) go with the time. Sluty 12 year olds are apparently "in" right now. As for cartoons the editors and writers change and come up with dry boring ideas that appeal to little kids who nowadays dont even watch the tv. It is just backround noise for there iphones and ipads and junk. Sorry but the best i could offer you is on teen nick i think at midnight you could watch 90's show on the weekends i think.

Is "crap" a bad word for a kids' show?

this is owned by the Children's Television Workshop, it does not entirely understand what its doing.

the question being is crap a bad word for a kids show, no, why, because its something the CTW wants to teach the children, its coming out of a puppets mouth, its coming out of the mouth of a muppet, it is not coming out of a humans mouth.

but the muppet IP is the next part of that, that was subsequently absorbed by The Walt Disney Company, Jim Henson Productions who created the puppets no longer exists, i can only imagine a muppet using crap on a CTW owned kids program is against Disney's own values, and i can imagine forthcoming lawsuits

Do you think Indian cartoon shows are lowering the IQs of our children?

Yes.Popeye used to eat Spinach and gain strenght; his gf was named Olive Oyl and the loser guy was called Bluto who ate junk. Courage the Cowardly dog always used to be a scared-dog but he always stuck my Murial by using his mystical computer and his love for his owner. Swat Cats (‘nough said Am I right?). Doctor mixes all good things in the world and makes three beautifully perfect girls who still manage to run into problems and instead of crying it out they figured things out. The older version of Teen Titans… etc etcWe either used to learn something via subconscious association (the Popeye thing) or we learned literal lessons like don’t panic and cry; first think, then fix it then enjoy or protect those you love no matter how hard it seems… or just amazing animated technology that made a child’s eye go wide in wonder…Cartoons nowadays are the worst - graphics suck, the story sucks and the message is always ‘the hero will win, the fat loser or the dark loser will lose’. I’ve seen young kids throw tantrums in sweet shops because the shop’s ladoo doesn’t look like the one Chota Bheem inhales (yup that’s what it looks like - no chewing just gulp). Also, my parents never let me watch TV for more than an hour - no exceptions. Parents these days just leave their children in front of the TV - even in trains and buses, kids watch these mindless cartoons on youtube. So I believe it’s a combination of Longer TV time + substandard plot that’s lowering IQ.

Why have networks given up on educational shows for kids?

Despite what this link says, there are educational networks such as:Baby first. This one will teach your child many things such as colorsNat geo wild. This one will teach you about many animalsHistory. This channel will teach you about many different events that happened throughout our timelineThis will teach you about many discoveries on earthAnd there are a ton more for you to find out so dont believe everything the internet tells you cause you can never tell what is right and what is wrong

How do you warn your children of pedophiles without scaring the crap out of them?

Teach them the concept of 'Good Touch Bad Touch'!This is a concept children easily learn. My parents had spoken to us about it when we were really young. Has been stuck to my mind ever since. Another important aspect is gaining the child's trust so that he/she can confide in you easily.OK- These are areas we might not like others touching.Hope you find this helpful! :)Quora thinks this answer is too short. Is it just me, or has the Simpsons turned crap?

I am the biggest Simpson family. So no one is sadder to agree with you than I. Every week, Homer does something insensitive, Marge gets pissed at Homer, Homer thinks Marge will leave him, Homer makes some grand gesture to win her back, Marge loves Homer again. How many times do we need to keep seeing that? I think the writers have spent all their efforts on this new movie (jumping the shark?) and none on the same hackneyed story lines. We are not alone in our beliefs my friend.

Do you think Walt Disney is rolling over in his grave right now?

sometimes I just can't believe the crap I see on that channel. Miley Cyrus and all those other little pop tart wannabes.

Do you think Walt Disney would be disappointed in what his name has turned into? I see all those shows and I compare them to what "Disney" is known for...classic movies like Bambi and Snow White..and compared to the trash that's on that show it really makes me sad.

Do you let your kids watch those shows? How old are they? Are there any kids shows (don't have to be Disney) that you completely ban in your house?

Are Disney/Nickelodeon shows getting stupider, or am I just getting older?

Sturgeon's lawTheodore Sturgeon's famous quote, when asked if "it is true that 90% of sci-fi is crap":"90% of everything is crap"That's how it goes with everything, movies, music, and kids cartoons. The only difference is that the cream of the crop stands the test of time. The reason why 70s music still plays on the radio is that those songs were so good, they survive. The crap died out, and isn't played anymore.Sure everyone remembers the good old days of CatDog and Hey Arnold, but nobody remembers all the mediocrity of "A Pup named Scooby Doo" or "Yo Yogi." As you grow up, you'll notice more and more of the crappy media that surrounds you 24/7, and you'll probably only hear about the good stuff a year or so after it's out. There is good stuff out there that's being created right now, you just have to do a little more searching to find it before everyone knows about it and can tell you.For some cool cartoons that's coming out now, I suggest:Star vs. The forces of Evil: (Uses Disney's wonderful in-house flash style to tell a continuing story. Themes of appearance vs intention are strong. Well, developed characters, and interesting settings.)Rick and Morty: (Skips right past the technobabble usually associated with sci-fi stories, to directly explore the philosophical questions inherent in the technologies that seem right around the corner in real life.)Steven Universe: (Heavy characterization, and an expanding lore, that drops hints well in advance for curious viewers. Delves into the endless complexity of interpersonal relationships by literally FUSING characters together.)Keep looking. I assure you, there are good cartoons out there.

Agree or Disagree: Today's kids shows and cartoon SUCK compared to the old school ones from the 80's and 90's?

I watched about half those shows on that list growing up and yes I agree, kids shows these days are just terrible. I have a younger cousin and I could barely sit through one of the shows she was watching one day. it made me feel dumber by the minute. When my brother and I were kids we wanted to be on that PBS show Zoom and countless other shows like that so we would pretend we were or make up our own show. If a show makes kids imagine something or create something then its a good show.

Would children's TV shows from over 50 years ago be of interest to children today?

Only if the parents didn’t go out f their way to “Monday morning quarterback” every action and reaction, and just let them be fun and entertainment. It’s when the parents add their own well-meaning narrative , fears, warnings, and anxiety, that children begin to view the world as the ( twisted ) parents do.“No you can’t watch ‘Tom & Jerry’ it’s far to Violent!”“No, you cannot watch ‘The Roadrunner’ …you might want to try ordering things from ‘Acme’ with mommy’s credit card and do those violent things to your friends!”“No, you can’t watch ‘Yosemite Sam’ ..that maniac has GUNS!” “Guns are Evil!”“No, you can’t watch ‘LASSIE’.. Dogs are filthy beasts, they drool, carry diseases, and mess up the house!”“What’s that…’Dragnet/Highway Patrol’? Turn that crap off this instant …Cops are crooked and they will frame you or shoot you in the street!”“OMG are you watching ‘SKY KING”? “That is about the Lamest show ever!”
