Amercrombie and Fitch knows that the demand for their clothing is thru the roof and there are tons of people who will pay a lot of money to get their stuff. Plus, for a lot of people $50 for a polo and $70 for jeans isnt all that expensive. Their stuff is targeted at upper middle class teens and young adults who think that they're clothing is cool. It's actually very simple to understand.

I don't think it's really worth it. Why is it so expensive? I'm guessing that some people love the smell so much that they will pay anything for it. But personally, I wouldn't want a boyfriend who smells like a walking Abercrombie and Fitch.
Hollister does the same with their's, SoCal, but you have to admit it smells GREAT! XD

Why is Abercrombie & Fitch more expensive than Hollister?

Abercrombie and Hollister are both owned by Abercrombie. However, Hollister is for a different market than Abercrombie. HoCo's main target audiences are for teenagers 13-18ish. Of course, older and younger people still shop there, because at work I get mom's come in and buy clothes for themselves! Anyway, because of the younger target audience, the price is lower.
Abercrombie's target audience is more for the college age kids (which is why around campus I see everyone in A&F). They normally would have a larger amount of available money, than kids in middle and high school, therefore, the prices are more expensive.
If you know of Ruehl No. 925, it's another A&F lifestyle brand. Their target audience is for people 25-early 30's. The prices for these clothes are even more expensive than A&F because the people in this age bracket would most likely be holding down a steady job and could pay for the clothes.

abercrombie and ***** are for people who have no sense of style. why would you wana dress like everyone else? why would you wana look like you have no personality? i dont think its epensive at all. i think its kinda cheap.

Do you think Abercrombie and Fitch is not inclusive?

As far as sizes go, they do not have any sizes for anyone who is above a 10 in other brands. They are very selective and discriminatory towards who they want wearing their clothes.In my experience, they are also not inclusive because, I once had a job interview with them, and I wore clothing from their store to the interview, but my jeans were women's Abercrombie jeans which I later learned that they did not hire me because of that. I think brands like Hollister and American Eagle and Old Navy are much more inclusive in all aspects.

It is the company image that has given each of these companies a bad name and that is translating to negative impact on how people view their brand, which includes how people rate their clothing. They need a severe top level management shakeup and complete re-branding if they are going to save their companies. The idea that a size 10-12 is "Fat" and the maximum size is outlandish. In addition to the commons the others have made below about the slogans, the crass and objectionable nature of their businesses and the cliques that are encouraged by the products that these companies create. It degrades the very young target market that they aim at, and we wonder why the younger generations have so many problems with their own self images.
