Why Does Fox News Get 6 Times More Viewers Than Msnbc

Why does Fox News enjoy better ratings than CNN and MSNBC?

Fox has better ratings because there is no other channel where a Republican can go for news and get through a half hour without throwing up their hands in disgust and amazement. When you have a single choice that is in better alignment with half the market, competing against an array of a half dozen or more channels (not to mention other media like web sites and print media), it's not hard to capture a big audience. The questioner almost certainly believes that conservative political philosophy is itself selfish and hate filled. I suspect they don't spend a lot of time watching Fox News, but that is my suspicion only. If they could work not from some particular single quote by a guest interviewee, but that a transcript of a news broadcast, and point out the selfish, manipulative and hate-filled parts, I would be glad to respond. No channel is telling lies. Working media professionals try to be objective. But they see the world through their own political philosophies. The editors and writers and owners of NBC, ABC, CNN, CBS, The Washington Post and the New York Times can all jump up and down and go red in the face and swear that they are not partisan. All I would ask is for anyone to make me believe that if you took all those people and made them into a voting precinct, they would have given the House of Representatives to the Republicans in 2010. If you believe that they would not have, as I believe they would not have, then they are not representative of the voters and just simply see the world differently. If anyone is having trouble believing that I'm serious, pick a transcript from a newscast, or the front page of one of those two newspapers from any given day, and I will walk you through the significant number of judgments that I see based on the political views of the media. Of course I'd be glad to do the same with Fox. My point isn't that anyone is good or bad. My point is that philosophy informs perception.

Why does Fox News treat Trump with respect but CNN and MSNBC won't?

Fox doesn't treat him with respect they practically act as if he is untouchable and they refuse to condemn anything he does wrong which practically a daily occurrence.CNN and MSNBC report facts…such as the fact that in 6 months he has tweeted angrily about the media 80+ times and about veterans oh about 25 times or about how he has been golfing 33 times?Meanwhile he bashed Obama every chance he got about Obama going golfing or traveling stating if he were president he would be at the Whitehouse 100% cuz there is work to do.He likes to cry about how unfairly he is treated and yet was quick to accuse our former president of not even being American or being the creator of ISIS.Donald Trump is the BLOTUS the biggest liar of the United States he lies just to lie and is under federal investigation rightfully so for obstructing justice in the Mike Flynn case his former NSA the person who Obama told him not to hire.Instead of being a man and admitting a mistake Dolt45 deflects blame onto everyone but himself he's right and everyone else is wrong and when someone criticizes him his ego can't handle it so he lashes out like a child.

Does Fox News have more Democrats than MSNBC has Republicans, or vice versa?

Fox definitely has more Democrats if not in sheer numbers (which I think they have that too) in true conviction. The majority if not all republicans on MSNBC are mushy middle republicans or RINO’s. True Fox will either outnumber the democrat by 2–1 or greater margin for a given segment. But at least the Democratic view being presented is authentically liberal. Can’t say the same about MSNBC having authentic conservatives. The other point would be having Articulate spokespeople for each side. I could never see MSNBC having on a Dennis Prager or Ben Shapiro. The hosts would be skewered intellectually. Fox however invites top Democrats all the time. Many refuse to show up on Fox.

When viewers watch the more partisan 'news' channels like FOX News or MSNBC, do they truly believe that they are getting a full and honest recitation of current events? Are they intentionally avoiding information that doesn't support their biases?

Partisanship and Bias are both emotional and learned and many time part of a belief system, NOT necessarily built ON FACTS and TRUTH.FACT’s and TRUTH’s win every time over Partisanship and Bias! The following I borrowed from Pers JorgensonYou have plenty of choices for good journalism. This has not changed. So what can you do? Stop wanting someone else to provide some sort of final solution. There is no über-intelligence, some purely logical robot mind to somehow arbiter fact for you, and government regulation certainly isn’t a solution you would want.Reality is as it always was that you and everyone else have to do the work of learning to evaluate what they hear, whether it’s from other people directly or through “the media”.You have to read and think critically. You have to double-check and verify. You have to learn to rely on reputation and history to evaluate the credibility of any given outlet.CABLE NEWS is out for RATINGS!!“And as for CNN? It has the best record among the cable networks, as 80 percent of of the claims we’ve rated are Half True or better.MSNBC and NBC, 44 percent of claims have received a rating of Mostly False or worse.Fox has about 60 percent of the claims we’ve checked have been rated Mostly False or worse… “The above three paragraph came from PolitiFactFaux not only do they lie, mislead, spread conspiracy theories they mix truth with opinion, they spread HATE the way they deliver the stories and now have become the propaganda arm of trump. Much like Joseph Goebbels was to Hittler before World War II. It is the HATE mixed with opinion that mixed with trump doing the same HAS SPLIT THIS COUNTRY IN TWO and is so damaging to this COUNTRY.How do I know this, I was subject to listening and watching faux on nearly a daily basis for 2 years, AND I FACT CHECKED FAUX and trump many many times onFactchect.org, Snoopes, Fact-checking U.S. politics | PolitiFact, and other oulets NOT cable TV. I also read, yes read AP, Reuters, BBC, AFP etc.Now there will those will think what I wrote above is BS. Thats OK!I challenge you to TURN OFF CABLE TV, FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE, Rush, BRITEBART, INFOWARS and READ THE NEWS From 2 or 3 outlets from with-in the green box [below] for 2 months. Yeh I know I know it will be harder than listening to the talking heads “but I never promised you a rose garden”

Why do people think Fox News lies so much?

I mean they do lie a lot but so does CNN and all the democratic news channels, is because there is more liberals in the world idk, and I love how they say they lie when the president just lied about the IRS **** going on

What will FOX News do when their audience literally dies off and becomes extinct?

The only demographic Mitt won was aging white men ... that's it. It doesn't take a mental giant to forecast the direction the party is headed. They lost the popular vote in 5 of the last 6 elections. The election they won was the gwb 2nd term when the recession started.
The rep party is reluctant to change ... it can't agree how to reinvent it self.
If the rep party wants to know why it's losing support, it should pay attention to the polls ...

As far as I know, FOX is the only biased right wing network. There is no competition. Plus, it has the most gullible audience because the network has already indicated it might be lying ...

The FOX audience doesn't care if they are getting lied to ... they insist on being told what they want to hear.
Obstinacy is in their dna ... some of them still insist gwb was a great president despite historians, scholars and a considerable amount of the rest of us considering him ranked among the worst ...

These people can still vote even though they have a learning disorder ... that's frightening.

Why is Fox News still airing?

Fox News is still on the air because it is the dominant cable news channel, with the dominant cable news shows, on the planet.Fox News was the third most-watched network in all of cable in both primetime and Total Day. The network had the top 13 programs in cable news in Total Viewers and the top eight programs in A25-54 viewers. It has spent 11 consecutive years as the top-rated cable news channel. Its 6 a.m. show drew almost double the ratings of CNN's top-ranking prime time show.Fox News has more viewers than all other news channels combined, or is equal to all others news channels combined, including total viewership, primetime, morning shows, twice the viewership at 5PM, 6PM, and 8PM, and more than all others combined at 8PM, 10PM, and 11PM.This is while having less available households than CNN, HLN, and equal households to CNBC and more households than MSNBC by 2MM. In fact, all competitors have been experiencing a decline in viewership, with the exception of MSNBC which has been experiencing a massive decline. On average, 7 times more viewers say they watch Fox compared to MSNBC, and the ratings bear this out--sometimes more than 700%. Rachel Maddow, the only show on MSNBC to experience any meaningful ratings, has been experiencing the worst ratings in the history of the show. In it's worst ratings period, Fox was still the top with 9 out of the top 10 shows.Fox News commands twice the price of the average 30 second commercial spot, whereas MSNBC receives 70% of the average. So, why is Fox still running? About 50% of the viewers of cable news watch Fox, it gets most of the money, and it's only getting bigger.

Do you agree with Charlie Brooker's description of Fox News?

in terms of raw drama, the ‘Fair and Balanced’ newsmen of dystopian-future, sci fi-satirical, shouty-porn-sledgehammer Fox News win out every time. Fox generally leans more to the right than a man who’s just had his right leg blown off.

Isn't it true that there are More genuine conservatives on MSNBC than there are Genuine Liberals On FOX?

No. there were but they essentially got rid of Joe Scarborough and Tuker Carlson. They are just occasional commentators now. I mean the only other conservative they have is Pat Buchanan, but has to count as negative points there because he just generally says really odd things from any ideological stand point
