Why Does My Cable Box Constantly Overheat

Why does my iPad overheat while the battery drains quickly?

Try this. I just copied and pasted my answer from the same sort of question. Also if it's hot, try turning the brightness down. And make sure it's not laying flat on a blanket or your legs. The heat needs to escape, and iPads don't the luxury of fans, as computers do. So, anyway, try these things:go to settings----->privacy------>location services------>go all the way to the bottom and click on "system services". First turn off "frequent locations". Then begin to turn off the obvious stuff like "I ads", and things you don't need. Then go back a page, and turn off location on all the apps that don't need to use it. Then, when youre done with that, go to settings--------->general----->background app refresh, and turn off all the apps that don't need to be constantly updating all the time. That should help. Also make sure you double click your home button and swipe up to close apps that may be running in the background for no reason. (EDIT and addition): if you're not using Bluetooth or wifi, turn them off. Otherwise they constantly scan for signals.

Amp is overheating and dont know why?

you cant use 12g. wire for power connections. some ideas, check all of your leads to see if your have a bad connection. a possibility is that the 12g. melted some of the insulation and is now grounding out or it burned through to another wire and is giving a bad circuit. i have seen this happen when the power lead has melted through the insulation before and touches either the remote wire or the RCA leads (although it is bad practice to run power supply with signal wires, but it happens a lot with self installations). another idea check your ohms, are you running your subs at 4,2, or 1 ohms? make sure your amp is capable of 2 or 1 ohm stability. try disconnecting your power and remote leads for a couple minutes to let the amp clear. also you might try and get a smaller sub. it sounds like your your amp runs at 200 watts RMS when you have and 800 watt RMS sub. you can damage a sub by underpowering it and you can damage your amp as well. hope that helps

For PS4 users, does the PS4 overheat frequently?

I'm gonna buy the PS4 next month since over here in Malaysia it'll be released next month (and it costs $565 lol).

I've seen many reports about the PS4 problems about blue light and red light. I'm more concerned about the red light//overheating problem. For PS4 users, does it overheat frequently? Or is it just a few with faulty devices?

Cause I usually play long hours on gaming, that may change when I start studying in college in the next few months, but possibly before that I'll play quite long. Just scared whether does it overheat frequently. Just need your input on this, from any PS4 users.

Please, no Xbox fanboys or PC. I play on PC all the time and also love console gaming because most of my friends are on that. I bought the 360 long time ago and the only thing I love about it is the controller, which I use on the computer for games that require a joystick, the 360 itself died lol.

Thank you!

Why does my cable box constantly overheat?

I have tried cleaning it just short of taking it apart, but it continues to overheat constantly. I have had it for about 3 years. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

My PS4 is overheating excessively. How can I fix it?

So this worked for me, it might for some of you and it might not for others. My PS4 is a launch model from the day it came out back in 2013, so it has been out of warranty for two years now.Recently, my PS4’s fan also stopped working - as a result it overheats rapidly and shuts off. I recently took it to a friends house, so I wondered if something was damaged in transit. While powering up, I could hear the fan attempt to turn on, but it made a click as if something was jamming it or getting in its way of spinning.I initially decided to just shoot compressed air into the vents as I thought a big chunk of dust was jamming the fan. However, a gut intuition told me to open up the machine - as it was now long out of warranty, voiding it was no longer a concern. When I got it open, I spun the fan manually with my finger - there was a little bit of resistance at first, but it made a “click” and spun free again. It seemed that the fan was out of alignment and was caught up against something, by manually moving the fan it snapped back into place and was free to function again.Long story short, it appears the PS4’s fan can be knocked out of place during transport.

Why does my amp keep overheating and shutting off or goin to protect?

you need to un-bridge(for lack of better words) the speakers.

you are running the amp as "unstable"

the load(Ω )is too low for the amp to handle.

if you are at 2Ω you need to go to 4Ω or it will keep hitting the protection mode.

either that or you have
a bad/not enough ground.
or wrong battery cable gauge

My cat loves to sleep on top of the cable box?? Is that ok?

I would worry more for the Cable Box overheating, but if theres room underneath it for heat to vent out it should be fine.

My cats love sleeping on our DVR or next to it because of the same reason.

Just make sure they do not chew cords or the box itself, and they should be fine. :)

Why is my amp always overheating and cutting out after 1 song?

I can never turn my cd player up past 14 because it will immediately overheat and cut out. I have a 1700 watt Kenwood amp and a box with 2 sony 12s and 2 mtx 12s. The subs are bridged inside so theres only 2 terminals on the outside. And i have my speaker wires bridged too. Is it overheating because of all 4 speakers being on 1 channel?

OK to be specific, its a Kenwood KAC-9102D 2 channel amp and it says 1 Ohm stable. RMS 500 watt (4 Ohms) RMS 850 watt (2 Ohms)

And all my wires are brand new and correctly installed. Im not a retard.
