Why Does My Jaw Ache Everyday

Why does my jaw hurt if I laugh while I eat?

I’m not really sure, but I did date someone who would have pain in his jaw sometimes when he talked or ate. It hurt him so much that there were times he had to change his daily activities because of the pain. He was (still is) a history teacher at the community college I attended. He’d told me about the time his jaw hurt so much, he decided to show his students a video instead of delivering a lecture so he wouldn’t have to talk. Another time, he had to go see a doctor in his hometown of San Antonio. That’s how much pain he was in.Anyway, what he had was temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome. Here are a couple of links about it: Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ, TMD) Causes, Treatment & Remedies and TMJ disorders - Symptoms and causes. If the pain is ongoing and affecting your daily life, go see a doctor. TMJ disorder might be what’s bothering you.

Why does the right side of my jaw always pop?

Temporomandibular joint dysfunction - WikipediaJoint noisesNoises from the TMJs are a symptom of dysfunction of these joints. The sounds commonly produced by TMD are usually described as a "click" or a "pop" when a single sound is heard and as "crepitation" or "crepitus" when there are multiple, grating, rough sounds. Most joint sounds are due to internal derangement of the joint, which is a term used to describe instability or abnormal position of the articular disc.[44] Clicking often accompanies either jaw opening or closing, and usually occurs towards the end of the movement. The noise indicates that the articular disc has suddenly moved to and from a temporarily displaced position (disk displacement with reduction) to allow completion of a phase of movement of the mandible.[5][25] If the disc displaces and does not reduce (move back into position) this may be associated with locking. Clicking alone is not diagnostic of TMD since it is present in high proportion of the general population, mostly in people who have no pain.[5]Crepitus often indicates arthritic changes in the joint, and may occur at any time during mandibular movement, especially lateral movements.[5] Perforation of the disc may also cause crepitus.[33] Due to the proximity of the TMJ to the ear canal, joint noises are perceived to be much louder to the individual than to others. Often people with TMD are surprised that what sounds to them like very loud noises cannot be heard at all by others next to them. However, it is occasionally possible for loud joint noises to be easily heard by others in some cases and this can be a source of embarrassment e.g. when eating in company.

Why does my jaw always ache when i lay down at night?

This really isn't normal but it is fairly common. It is your jaw muscles that are acting up and when you lay in bed they get aggrevated and go into pain. You can release those muscles to get rid of the pain and here's how to release them:
Jaw muscles, TMJ:
Put your fingers on your head so your thumbs are behind your ears. Press into the back of your jaw next to the skull and hold that pressure. After 30 seconds slowly raise your head until your neck is fully extended then open your mouth as far as you can. Release the pressure but hold your head and mouth like that for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling, then remain this relaxed.

Why does my jaw hurts after a tooth extraction?

Many reasons. The trauma of removing a tooth tears the gums and expands the bone in the jaw.If you mean by jaw your jaw joint. Then possibly th pressure put on that joint during the extraction inflamed the joint causing pain. You could have an infection which require antibioticsYou could have a dry socket which mean the bone in the socket where the tooth was has not healed because of lack of blood flow most common in smokers. You could have food stuck in the socketYou could just be wimpy-just kidding hope you feel better soon. Why does my jaw click when i tilt my head it doesnt hurt just always clicks when i move it?

I suffer from clicky jaw. I also get days where it goes stiff and hurts too.

for me, its anxiety, which quite a few people suffer from, but it could also be something called TMJ, if you're worried see your GP, but its nothing to worry about really, I had it for 3 years, its annoying but isn't a worry.

I am having jaw pain, headache, and nausea. What could this be?

This could be many things, you should see a doctor. Jaw pain (TMJ/TMD), Headache, and Nausea, all at once, are extremely common during a migraine. TMJ (temporomandibular joint) Photo credit MayoClinic In a study of TMD patients, "migraine was the most prevalent headache (55.3%) followed by tension-type headache (30.2%)". Tension-type headache is a "normal", every day headache. Study link So migraine is extremely common in TMD patients and is also associated with nausea more than regular headaches.Other things such an aura (visual disturbances), headache lasting more than 4 hours, photophobia (light sensitivity), & phonophobia (sound sensitivity) could make a migraine diagnosis more likely, but you don't need all those symptoms to have a migraine. I discuss the problems of migraine diagnosis vs headache here.Migraines can be triggered by inflammation of the trigeminal nerve, but migraines can also inflame this nerve. It is a vicious cycle. The trigeminal nerve can cause jaw pain and can also be caused by various sources of inflammation. Sleep apnea is often associated with both TMD and Migraine, and treatment of sleep apnea may help both conditions. While botox is used to paralyze the muscles around this nerve, trigger point therapy may relieve muscle tension, and various drugs help suppress inflammation this nerve brings, the root source of the problem, causing initial nerve inflammation, could be many, many, many different things.Seeing a doctor and reading more on TMJ/TMD and migraine is a starting point.

Is it ok to have arm jaw chest pains after panic attack I'm 16.?

Yes, anxiety can do lots of weird things to your body. It feels like a heart attack, but I assure you it's NOT your heart. Instead, it's your muscles tightening up. The pain can linger sometimes. This is not a threat to your health.Take some Tylenol or Ibuprofen to ease the pain. Try some deep breathing to calm yourself down. Anxiety can be debilitating.
