- drag and drop the Google Chrome icon to the Applications folder
- eject the .dmg file by right clicking the mounted volume on your desktop (it'll look like a hard drive)
- double click the Google Chrome app under Applications

Why can i download anything on my mac?

downloading anything on the mac can require much googling. unfortunately most downloadable programs from the internet (especially free ones) are not compatable with mac. Mac is mostly made to be user friendly and they tend to dumb things down a lot. Therefore it can be a big challenge do anything on a mac that isnt surf the web or itunes. Macs suck. you probably shouldnt have even wasted money on one

Why won't my ibook g4 download anything?

You're downloading software that the iBook G4 can't run in the first place. Just because it says it's for Mac doesn't mean it'll run on old PowerPC Macs. You need to find software that says it'll run on PowerPC. That means G3/G4/G5. Chrome won't do it. Download TenFourFox instead. MS Office 2008 is the last version to run on PowerPC. LibreOffice has a PowerPC version and is free.

Frostwire won't download anything at all?

If you are having trouble downloading a file, I would assume there are not enough seeders so don't bother trying.

I would definitely steer away from Frostwire. Have you heard of uTorrent? That is definitely the way to go and using this with a small application called Bit Che is excellent. Bit Che searches many popular torrrent sites for almost anything you can think of.

Why will my Macbook not download anything from the internet?

I have OS X Lion and am currently using Google Chrome. For some reason whenever i try to download something, such as google earth or firefox, nothing happens. It always goes to the page that says i downloaded it... but no download. Also i tried to download with Safari and that didn't work either so i don't think its the browser problem.

I'm trying to download Photoshop, but my MacBook Air refuses to download it or run it if my friends send it to me, why is it doing this?

You can get the student discount for $10 a month or you could do the free trial and before it’s over you can “THEORETICALLY” open the file to AMT drag the XML to terminal (or notepad) and change a number in the trial serial code. Then enter and you’re good forever. But remember this is just my “theory” if you know what I’m saying. I’d honestly rather you just get the student discount. I use it for all my projects but good luck if you chose the other “theory”

Why does Safari not open anymore on my Mac?

My Safari is working great so it is not a universal problem. I have had this problem in Firefox and Safari but not recently. I found three solutions, on different occasions. Delete the application, delete the preferences file, or delete the support files.

Quit Safari if it is running. Be sure Safari is in the root level "Applications" folder. Go to the Apple logo and choose Software Updates. See if it finds any updates -- any, not just for Safari. Install all updates and restart. Run Software Updates again, restart again. Try Safari. If it still has problems, quit Safari. Click on "Go", choose "Home" and open Preferences. Delete com.apple.safari.plist and try to open Safari.

If it still has problems, click on "Go" in the Finder menu at the top, choose "Home". Go to Library and look for a folder called "Safari". Rename it to "Safari-old". Open Safari and see if it still has the problem. NOTE: You won't have any bookmarks at this point. If it works fine, quit Safari. Open "Safari-old" and move the file "Bookmarks.plist" to the new folder ("Safari").

If Software Update didn't find any newer version of Safari and the other steps didn't fix it, download Safari at the link below, trash the old Safari.app (if you have Finder preferences to show all file extensions) and put the new Safari application in the Applications folder.
