Why does my puppy have a big belly?
Many puppies get fat little bellies simply from eating too much. Not too much as in too many calories but too much for their bellies. Puppies are born with tiny bellies and a hunger and need for lots of calories to grow quickly. A healthy mom can give them all they need but their bellies look silly full between feedings.A constant belly swelling isn't always good however. When a puppy has worms the belly will also swell. If the dogs are outside, the mom has worms or you even you have doubts take a fecal sample up to the vet. It is usually very inexpensive. I know some people automatically worm but I am not comfortable with it myself.
Why does my puppy sniff and lick my ears?
As someone who has observed dogs and puppies closely, here's another viewpoint. It is something he has learned from his mother. If you have observed a mother dog caring for her litter, you would've seen her clean the puppies. This includes licking the eyes, mount, ears and often biting at the coat to remove ticks. In a short time, you would also observe some puppies do the same to their siblings or even to the mother. That's the way they learn in the pack! A puppy learns a lot of things from the mother in his young days and that learning is vital for the rest of his life. It is sad the breeders separate the puppies too often to make quick bucks. Apparently, the puppy you have has learned this quite well. He's showing his affection to you by doing it. That's completely normal. One of my dogs, an adult female tries to lick my nose whenever she gets a chance :) Now, if you want to stop this, you could do it by positively diverting the dog's attention to something else.
Why does my puppy copy me?
he's a real sweetheart honestly - he follows me everywhere, and when i lay on the carpet watching tv he always lays his head on my neck. the sweetest thing.. He loves cuddling, but I was wondering why he copies me and picks up things from me? Whenever I stretch out, he'll run up to me and do the exact same thing. He howls whenever I yell or laugh or something like that. Why does he do that?
Why does my puppy bite my hair?
Sounds to me like a personality thing. Yes your dog has chew toys, but apparently it can't help what it likes to choose to bite and apparently it is your hair. Two months is still very young and if you continue to let your dog chew your hair, it'll easily become a habit for him. You're going to have to figure out a nice way to make him stop. Possibly you could distance yourself from him, or when he attempts to chew your hair you can pick him up and hold/hug him tight so he can't. I know some of my friends tap their dog's nose (gently) when their dog does something bad and they know to stop. You'll have to come up with some sort of trick to teach your dog to let 'em know what he can/cannot do. Some people use commands.
Why does my puppy like to chew on and pull my hair?
He might actually do it because you let him do it at first and he doesn't get whats wrong. My puppy did that with EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE when he was that age. He still nuts but not for long because my dad is giving him to my mom, where I live. He will get over it. Most puppies just love to play tug of war. Try giving him a tug of war toy. Why does my puppy eat like he's starving?
If he came from a large litter of pups then he had to quickly fight for food and thus he'll eat quickly incase it is eaten by another dog, this behavior will stop over the next couple of months. My Weim was in a litter of 9 pups so you can imagine that she wolfed her food down when I first got her, she now eats a lot slower and doesn't rush her food. It took a couple of months for her to figure out no one was going to take it away. I suggest you don't put all his food in his bowl, put a small portion and hold the bowl while feeding, if he rushes remove the bowl give him a minute then return the bowl keep this up to slow him down, it also shows him you are in control of his food and therefore you are the alpha dog. Another method is he doesn't eat till he's calmed down, do not allow him to "rush" the bowl, if he does then up it goes, teach him to sit and wait for his meals and to only eat when you tell him it's ok. Both my dogs will wait patiently for food, they will wait until I give the command for them to eat before proceeding to their bowls. I control their food and I control when they can eat it. It puts me at the top of the pack and they cannot eat until I say it's ok. Practicing this will make your dog NON food aggressive as he matures. Good luck
Why does my 2 week old puppy moans and cries for no reason?
my puppy would be sleeping next to me sometimes, but he moans and groans and cries. his my first puppy so, I'm not quite sure exactly what to do. Then i would take him outside because he might want to pee or poop but he doesn't. and just keeps crying. and... how can i train my puppy to sleep in his own bed, pee or poop outside?
