Why Does My Right Upper Thigh Hurt

Why does my upper right thigh hurt?

Upper thigh pain symptoms can include pain in hamstrings (back of thigh) or on the outside or inside of the quadriceps (thigh muscle). Other symptoms can include a burning sensation or numbness and aching in the groin or buttocks area. The pain or numbness usually occurs on only one side of the body. The affected area may also be sensitive to touch or pressure as well. Sciatica (pain that shoot down the leg) can be a symptom of upper thigh pain. The sciatica nerve has nerve roots in the spine. Compression on these nerves can cause pain to shoot down the back and back of the thigh.

treatment:

Rest
Ice
Heat
Anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen and naproxen can alleviate inflammation and pain.

See your health care provider as soon as possible (orthopedic surgeon or sports specialist).

I hope this helps you. And good luck.

Why Does my Upper thigh hurt?

My upper left thigh hurts. If you take your hand an place it on the upper side of your thigh and feel for the bone and you tense your thigh muscles it hurts behind the bone (On the inside) and spreads a little bit over to the top of the thigh. It's been hurting for while now. When I lie down on my back straight and exhale it hurts. It's not like an intense pain but it's like a deep inner pain. I've been to my doctor, but he said nothing... just an x-ray and nothing. How can I heal it faster?!?! I play soccer and track so I absolutely need it to get better.

:) Thank YOU!!!

Am I doing my squats right if my thighs hurt?

Depends on what you mean by “hurt”If you’re feeling it in your thighs it’s just an indication that you’re working your thighs. If you’re sore, it means that you’ve got some good eccentric contractions going on.You could be primarily hitting your thighs and still have bad form. This graphic doesn’t show it with weight, but the concept is similar. The largest difference is that the weight should move in a straight line vertically in line with the center of your foot. The weight should not be on your heels, rather your ENTIRE foot should be pushing.Note that the knees are in front of the toes. This isn’t something you should worry about…it’s perfectly alright for your knees to go in front of the toes. The important thing is to keep your knees stable — in line with the direction of your foot and hip — so that you are pushing up and down instead of in or out.Bottom line, it’s impossible to say based on what hurts if you’re doing a squat right. It’s a complex motion. If you need help, post a video or ask someone at your gym for tips…or just anyone you can find. It’s really hard to tell even looking in the mirror if you’re doing it right.

My upper thigh hurts and I can't walk on it! PLEASE HELP!?

See your health care provider as soon as possible (orthopedic surgeon or neurologist), for consultation. Three types of problems account for most leg pain not associated with injuries:

Inflammation and clots in veins--thrombophlebitis
Narrowing of arteries--intermittent claudication
"Overuse" problems associated with vigorous exercise, collectively referred to as "shin splints."

Pain that radiates from your lower (lumbar) spine to your buttock and down the back of your leg is the hallmark of sciatica. You may feel the discomfort almost anywhere along the nerve pathway, but it's especially likely to follow a path from your low back to your buttock and the back of your thigh and calf.

Sciatica is most often treated with chiropractic treatments, physical therapy, stretching exercises, anti-inflammatory medications, spinal decompression, and surgery.

Groin pull
Hamstring pull or tear
Quadricep pull or tear

I hope this helps you. And good luck.

Why do my thighs hurt so bad from squatting?

When you squat, especially with added resistance, you are increasing the rate at which muscle is broken down and lactic acid is released to power the work being done by the movement. So that means pain in the form of soreness, now if the soreness does not decrease after two days, then you may have another issue going on.Considering you wrote thighs and not knees or hips, then you are most likely fine. You just need to stretch your quadriceps and hamstrings, eat well, sleep well, and do some light biking or walking or jogging for 20–60 minutes to facilitate the lymphatic systems natural clearance of waste. (Lactic acid mostly in this case.)Being sore is a sign of the muscle building process which is good in many cases.Buildimg muscle will increase metabolism, “tone” that area, and increase strength levels. To become really “jacked” requires a strong dedication for most people so if you have a worry about becoming too big, just understand most people make that a priority and focus much effort on it, it usually does not come easy.

How to relieve a upper thigh cramp?

This is an answer from a wise massage therapist- push against the cramps in the opposite directions and that will make the cramped muscles relax. It sounds too simple to be true, but it does work.
Also drink a lot of water while and after you exercise to wash out the lactic acid buildup(which causes muscle pain and can cause cramps). Eat an extra banana or two a day to increase your potassium level which also helps with cramps.

Take some ibuprofen or motrin after your workout and before you go to bed to decrease inflammation and use a heating pad on the cramp.

DO NOT try to massage it- if you have an already inflamed set of muscles, rubbing them and releasing more lactic acid will just make it worse.
