Why Does Regular Show Have Adult Jokes

Why is Regular Show and Adventure Time so popular?

Honestly I do not see the appeal at all to either of these shows.

They're just down right weird, neither of them have much of a story behind them and they rely on Slapstick humor and potty jokes to get laughs. No matter what the intended audience is they're inappropriate for the Channel they're on due to the occasional cursing and dirty kick-in-the-balls humor. Neither show has what I would refer to as "Humor" and honestly I'm not one to be a soccer mom (dad?); but they encourage the trendy stuff that is exactly what is wrong with this world

They leave the show open to complete absurdity and generic characters so they can do anything they want with them (Example: Characters turning into horses, or changing shape, or flying etc) they adhere to no set physical "Rules". They're much like stick figures. I'm not saying Cartoons are very much known for how realistic they are but they should at least try to adhere to some sort of basic Physical rules.

The characters act beyond ignorant and honestly I see kids imitating this. I wouldn't have a single problem with the show outside of my own personal distaste for it if it wasn't for it's directly encouraging these kids to imitate and act like these people do in the show (Two very ignorant, Very uneducated, Teenagers). Everywhere I go I hear kids talking like these characters and I see them acting like these Characters and following trends.

I don't know. I don't exactly hate the show and that is not what I am doing here. I am simply pointing out the reasons I do not like it. So why has something like this, that we can all agree anybody could've come up with is so popular?

Regular Show cursing in a kids channel?

I was watching an episode of Regular Show and I heard this quote from Rigby he said
"How the H are we going to fix this S".
You know that H means Hell and S means **** I don't hate RS. But kids could be watching this.

Some people could tell me "PATRICK YOU IDIOT HELL AND **** ARE NOT BAD WORDS SO STFU" or "IT'S A FREAKING CARTOON" but this cartoon is on a channel that use to be for kids

Wasen't cartoon network a channel for everyone?

This makes me thinks that CN is turning into [adult swim] now a days.

Do you think the "Regular Show" is suitable for kids?

I started watching Cartoon Network again a while back, and theres this show called "The Regular Show". (Im 13 btw) Anyways, I noticed that they talk about a lot of "older group" stuff. Like, on Regular Show, it was where the green fat dude called "Muscle Guy" or something, broke up with his girlfriend, and when they got reunited on the episode, they were running at each other, and it kinda zoomed in on his girlfriends boobs flopping while she was running, then when they reached each other, they were making out wildly.. like you could see the tounges and everything.

Then on a different episode the raccoon dude was picking on the bird dude, and the characters on there video games made out with some girl (Once again you could see there tounges) and then the raccoon boy said "Thats exactly how its going to go down in fhe theaters, down and dirty!" (Something like that)

Then i saw a Commercial with the characters from the regular show, they said "Dont look at out crotches while we sequenizes our watches" and they pointed at there crotch and the camera zoomed in.

Then the last example, on a different show (dont remember the name) a brother and sister were fighting and the mom said "kiss and make up" and they turned around and started kissing like a couple.

Is this what they seriously want kids to grow up to?

I remember growing up to shows that were based on super heros, fighting crime, and putting your mind out that you can be anything you want to be.

I dont know if this bothers anyone else, but i dont want my cousins growing up and watching this.

Regular Show - Inappropriate?

OK, I don't want to sound like I'm whining. I love this show, it appeared on Cartoon Network recently and it's extremely hilarious and action-packed, unlike really any other kids' show I've seen ever. Quite possible and simply my favorite show, and I've only seen about 10 episodes so far.

But what perplexed me after watching these episodes... I noticed that they should really have a TV-14 rating, not a PG rating... most of the time, anyway. I mean, they say mildly "bad" language like "pissed, suck, balls" and other things like that. Not really bad language, but CN or any other kid's network would never... EVER... allow words like that in their shows, but for some reason Regular Show seems to slip away from that.

And about the violence... I mean it's really cool and it's awesome and entertaining to watch more than any other kids' show, but... lol... it's pretty violent. There's actual real punches in the face and kicks and such, and characters sometimes actually die. They DIE! In other shows networks would never allow that to happen, they'll just have characters "knocked-out" or "defeated", but in this show, you actually see people get burned to ashes and don't appear anymore, and people explode and in one episode the villain literally got cut in half and exploded (you could sort of see blood as well).

At one point the characters even got literally drunk (off of soda and coffee but not off of beer). lol

After the violence and the language stuff, we got some sexual stuff.... I mean most people who complain about this show say "Mordecai has a crush on this other character", but that's not a problem at all, you see that in many other shows. What IS a problem is that in one episode "Party Pete" (you can watch it on YouTube), the Party Pete guy literally did this pelvic thrust thing around all the girls (I thought it was hilarious), but I'm wondering how did this manage to get a PG rating? lol and it even zoomed in right on one of the chick's breasts at one point (watch the episode).

I personally have no problem with this stuff, and I'm not even concerned... but... I'm just asking, HOW ON EARTH did this stuff get on Cartoon Network, and not even at night time? It is literally as dirty as a TV-14 show. I love it, I think it's one of the greatest shows of all time, but... lol seriously how do you think this was able to air on CN during regular hours? Thanks.

The "dirtiest" show on Cartoon Network that's not on [adult swim]?

I agree, I think it's Regular Show. I wonder how some of the stuff they show gets past the censors?

How does the new Netflix series Fuller House compare to the original series?

I’ve only watched the first 2 seasons of Fuller House so far I won’t be watching the 3rd one until all of it is on Netflix but what I can say is that it is family friendly just like Full House was sure they do have adult jokes in them but they’ll fly over most kids’ heads just like it did with kids who watched Full House back in the day.I do like how they tried to capture some of the original elements from Full House in Fuller House they did a pretty good job with re-creating the iconic house set the old attic room is the only set that I have a problem with.In the old show Danny was the one responsible for taking care of his 3 daughters since his wife; Pam died in a car accident. It’s similar with DJ but the genders have switched since she’s now in her Dad’s position and she has 3 sons instead of having 3 daughters. Her husband also died but it was because of his job as a firefighter.Danny’s relative who comes to help out is his brother-in-law; Jesse and he also has a comedian best friend; Joey who also comes over to help out. DJ’s sister; Stephanie volunteers to help out and just like her Uncle Jesse they’re also musicians and DJ also has a best friend; Kimmy who helps out who although isn’t a comedian like Joey was she still is basically the comic relief of the show.A big difference however is that when Kimmy moves in she already has a daughter whereas Joey never had kids in Full House.

Why is Rick and Morty so popular?

Simple.People enjoy Rick and Morty because it’s a hilarious, absurd show that has clever writing that ranges from ridiculous to surprisingly deep. It’s smart but at the same time not pretentious. The show delves into mature themes, nihilism being the most prominent one, but at the same time delves into stupid goofball humor that’s hard not to laugh at.Let’s take a few examples:Here’s a speech that one of the characters, Morty Smith, gives to his sister Summer about nihilism.Nobody exists on purpose. Nobody belongs anywhere. Everybody’s gonna die… Come watch TV.I would assume that you think this speech would give one the impression that the show has deep philosophical writing, and only people with a very high IQ could understand the show.If one were to believe that assumption, they’re wrong. Here’s a few characters from the show. This is Scary Terry, a “legally safe knock-off of an 80’s character” that ends most of his sentences with “bitch.”This is Bird Person…. Yes, they have a character whose name is literally “Bird Person.”This is a character who intends to purge the universe of all carbon-based lifeforms. He is given the name “Fart” by Morty.People enjoy Rick and Morty because not only is it hilarious, it manages to maintain genuinely clever writing without pandering to the pretentious crowd. It lets audiences feel smart but still feel human.

Which animated series do you like better, "Gravity Falls" or "Regular Show"?

Gravity Falls. When I find a cartoon that isn't full of nonsense and has a good plot, I'm hooked. Regular Show is okay, but it's not as amazing as gravity falls. Sure, it has some funny things I've seen as memes or tumblr posts. And I saw the episode about Russian spy while ago because there was nothing else on and that was good. But it doesn't compare to Gravity Falls at all. Gravity Falls has complex characters, a serious mystery and fantasy plot line, themes about family and the awkwardness of becoming a teenager, and both adult humor and just silly humor. But it's not outrageously ridiculous silly humor like say, Teen Titans Go! Or Uncle Grandpa.
