Ok like 2 weeks ago out of nowhere my YouTube looks old and really outdated, i don't know if its just because updates or what but i don't like it at all and its really starting to bother me, please help me get it back to normal.

Why does 1080p look bad on YouTube? How can it be improved?
The problem with YouTube's quality is compression. Compression is directly related to file size; smaller files will have less quality. Because so much video content is uploaded to YouTube, they have to heavily compress videos in order to still be able to provide the storage and bandwidth needed.Right now YouTube uses a bitrate of 8Mbps (Mbps = megabits per second, it's a unit of data rate). For comparison, blu-ray disks use a data rate of 36Mbps, consumer cameras generally record at 20-100Mbps, and professional cameras record at over 200Mbps.The only way to improve quality is to either increase the data rate of the video or to introduce a more efficient video codec. Like I mentioned, increasing the data rate will increase YouTube's storage and bandwidth costs, so it's not a great option. The second option, creating a new codec, is being done right now. Google is working on a codec called VP10 that will allow better video quality in smaller file sizes. It will be rolled out around the end of 2016.
Why do VERY old youtube videos look blurry?
Maybe you have better HD videos now and your used to watching them that you find non HD videos blurry. or you might have a problem with your eyes...

Hey, I recently was just emailed by a producer and company...by my videos on youtube. My advice would be...make your profile on youtube VERY professional dont say "hey so i love to sing and yah"...Make it professional liek you actually know what your doing. make your videos stand out...and do songs that are popular right now so you get noticed Hope this helps :)
Why do Vimeo videos look better than YouTube videos? Is this true, or just imagined? If it's true, is it just a selection effect where people preferentially upload high-quality videos to Vimeo? Does Vimeo have technical quality advantages?
Vimeo was the first to offer HD video upload and playback in the day, but YouTube has now caught up. There are, however two other aspects that may contribute to their videos looking "better". One is design, other is community.In my eyes Vimeo has always been a step ahead of YouTube in terms of design. It is much cleaner on their website and their embedded videos look more clean as well. There is less or no ads (depending on your membership status) on their website as compared to YouTube's over saturated ad spaces and intermissions. There is less clutter on the website and their player (ie no video annotations etc).Vimeo community is mostly amateur film makes, animators and enthusiasts. But it also has a very large amount of professionals and celebrities uploading their work (hence their Pro and Plus paid accounts). Their community is steered by their staff towards favoring quality, outstanding videos. Vimeo staff is a very active participant who promotes videos which are usually much deeper in essence and quality than cat jokes.

Because optimization is critical to the success of YouTube.The longer people stay on the platform the better. The user experience plays a significant role in overall use of YouTube. A small increase in the length of a visit for all of their users increases revenue.Additionally, every platform makes changes. At first they are a bit unsettling because they are new but after a short period of time they become the norm. It’s just progress.
