Sure. UK is a great place. Not quite as great as people from the UK tend to think, but definitely nothing to be ashamed of.Which brings me to one interesting though.Some countries are great and their citizen believe that they are the best places in the world. UK apart, i have observed this also in US and to some extent in France.Some countries are great, but their citizens are still very critical and asking for more. Germany and Netherlands come to mind.And some countries are far from great, yet their citizens still firmly believe in the greatness of the own patria. I prefer not to mention any names here.In my experience, the second group of countries is realistically better off then the first. By the virtue of critical public, the political elite in Germany or Netherlands is forced to do something for their population. In UK, they don't have to.As for the third group, they are IMO doomed to stay poor and desorganised in foreseeable future.
Why is England generally a rubbish country to live in?
One word - Corruption. The government is absolutely rotton to the core and a high number of MPS are also serving board members for multinational companies. impartialiality really doesn't come into it. We vote every 4 years for a bunch of self seving professional liers, peodophiles and thieves, with no clear line between them, other than the colour tie they are wearing. The money that the tax payer has removed from their bank account via P.AY.E gets squandered, pocketed and stuck in the back pockets of the richest members of our society via bribery and perks, while they hire extortionate accountants and lawyers to make sure any money they steal gets hidden in a tax haven in the British virgin islands This in turn puts more pressure on to the decent honest tax payers contribution, meaning the roads are falling to bits, the health service is run on such a shoe string that they cannot recruit the staff required, and then in turn means they now have an excuse to privatise national services and all put their greedy little hands into the pot, then get promoted to sit on the board of said company that is now convieniently the main contract. We all know it goes on, but we as a nation stick our heads in the sand, pretend it doesn't happen, or find a decent scapegoat to blame for the shitshow our supposed "Govenment" keeps inflicting on the most vunerable members of our society. There are thousands of homeless on our streets now, women and children but they are shunned away from the rest of the public as to be hidden from tourists and daily mail readers so their eyes are not offended by the poverty and destitution caused by the corruption and theft of public money. "Out of sight - out of mind" it'a called.The whole parlimentary system is hundreds of years out of date, and privilage and breeding overrules common sense and ability. Having a coat of arms at a public school, and a family tradition of pumping money into the pockets of friends in high places should not secure a career in politics or business - but in the uk it does. The best thing they could ever do would be to complete Fawkes gunpowder plot and stick all their thieving self seving heads on spikes over tower bridge, but sadly British people have absolutely no balls whatsoever. "I don't want to cause a fuss" ect. How we ever defeated nazi germany baffles me tbh. We as a nation are a dickless disgrace now.
