our 2 biggest clubs got humiliated in europe off teams that can only be considered mediocre at best....yet when they return to the fish n chips league they cruise to easy wins,just how low is the standard of our game at the moment?

Why do so many Scottish whiskeys start with "glen-"?
There are absolutely NO Scottish “whiskeys” that begin with “Glen” or anything else.“Whiskey” is a bastard preparation foreign to Scottish soil. (I’ll add a :) here lest that’s taken too seriously)Our national spirit is called “Whisky” which is an Anglicised rendition of Uisge Beatha, or Water of Life. It is made from malted barley. Grain whisky is a blended aberration made largely from maize in a continuous process, whereas Malt Whisky is made in batches. The cheaper blends commonly sold are mostly grain, with some malt added. The price of Whisky is astronomically inflated by successive London governments treating it as a cash cow by heaping vast levels of duty payable to London coffers.If you’d given more than a few seconds thought to this you might have realised that it’d be likely that Scottish distillers might well name their products after the location of the distillery. Hence the use of the term “Glen”.
Why I am getting bombarded with this royal wedding farce? Can't they have a quiet wedding like everybody else?
Because to a huge contingent in the world, it is newsworthy.I gained new respect for the Queen after the economic crash of 2008. Where is a person bound by her vows, to seek what is best for the British people. Not the profit motive of financial types, but honest to goodness what is best for everyone.As I have thought about this, I slowly realized that the Royal Family functions like an NGO in many ways. They can urge better ways of behavior to other governments and countries, urging in more forceful ways than what is available to governments and diplomats. IT IS SO GOOD that they do this.Now, many people in the world may not be the least bit interested in the Royal Family. Fair enough. But a great many are. I hope those who are interested give the Royals the gravitas to effect change.
