How do I get Pandora to stop playing Spanish commercials?
I emailed Pandora support and here is the response I got: ********** Hi Emily, Thanks for writing. We're currently running full ad campaigns in Spanish at the request of our advertisers. Some campaigns are targeted towards certain age groups or particular genres or artist stations. I hear where you're coming from regarding ads in different languages, but the fact is that Pandora incurs substantial costs in licensing and streaming for every song it streams. In order to provide this service free to listeners, we need to generate enough advertising revenue to cover our costs. Simply put: no ads, no Pandora. I also understand that the presence of certain ads can be objectionable. We do offer an ad-free option – it's called Pandora One. At a very modest $36/year, you can cut out advertising altogether. You can find this option in the upper right-hand corner of the main page. Anyone know what the song playing on the computer commercial is? It has a bunch of different groups of people playing different instruments or singing it accapella. Then they clap and go... doo doo doo (lots of doo's) then they clap again. It has been driving me crazy!

I know vmware player is free for personal use but not for commercial use, however I want to use vmware player in my company's computer but using only a personal virtual machine (nothing work-related). My company is ok with it as long as everything is free, so I just need to know if I can use vmare player to play the virtual machine.

I woke up and heard my dad's computer playing this song, but when I walked over, it was from this Asian ad for Estee Lauder's Pure Color Lipstick commercial. Does anyone have the link to this ad? Or the song? I was only half awake when I heard it so the lyrics I heard were something like "step by step" and "way that the wind blows" and "back to you."
Why do TV commercials sometimes get cut off after only a split second? How does this happen? Is it a computer glitch? Human error?
The agreement between stations and cable operators have created a 2-tier advertising structure. The first tier are guaranteed national distribution commercial breaks where any spot put there shows nationally.The second tier are local insert optional distribution. In other words, in those breaks the cable operator (or satellite system) is allowed to insert advertising that it has sold for local distribution. The network will already have advertising in that segment - but the local is allowed to cover it over. If you buy this second tier on a cable network, it costs less & you are accepting the random possibility your advertisement will not been seen in x% of the markets.You may notice that many of the spots with the glitch you mention are for local advertisers - car glass replacement, auto dealers, etc. Many are also direct response television ads (although we've never found local inserts on cable to be cost effective).There is a similar arrangement on the part of national broadcast networks with the local stations.So, that brief flash happens when there's a local insert - and where there's error. It's not CNN's fault - it's the local cable provider or satellite system.
