ARRIBA EL AMERICA!!!!!

Why are Americans so obsessed with trash TV?

Because, for the most part, these "trashy-TV" shows that you speak of are designed to draw the viewers attention. For example, American Idol starts the season off with people who claim they have talent and come on national TV to embarass themselves. I've actually come across several people who've claimed they tried out but were rejected because the producers were only accepting actors to play those embarrassing roles. But that's a different story.

Also, they'll design the show so that the viewers will relate to certain people on the show and of course a lil eye-candy never hurt nobody either. These shows will also have the most enticing advertisements and such so that the viewers will feel they're supposed to like the show. Otherwise, they'd be missing out on something good.

In my opinion, you could say that people are kinda brainwashed to enjoy these type of shows.

Is MMA a white trash sport like Nascar?

I was just wondering. I was watching UFC, and most of the guys (including Lesnar) come off to me as white trash. To me, the UFC just looks like a glorified white trash bash. What do you guys think?

Why do people, who are not Americans, talk trash about the US so much if they don’t fully understand how the US Government works?

My husband is a New Zealander and spent seven years living in my native U.S. before we moved to live in his country. There have been times when he has had to correct me about something regarding the U.S.government and how it works. Most New Zealanders I know have a reasonable amount of knowledge about American politics, history and government. On the other hand, most Americans I know and even don’t know lack even a basic idea of how the government works to such a degree that I wonder if they slept during Civics class.Ironically, many Americans are quick to criticise other countries without ever having travelled outside the U.S.

Why do Sports fans take it so seriously?

I really think that sports cause a bunch of drama and mess. It's ridicules how sports can ruin the domestic tranquility (in sports terms) between states. It's a SPORT not a WAR! People are getting crazy about sports. Come on people it's only a sport. Michigan doesn't suck just because of its football team. The states are not unique because of their sports teams. They are unique because of what they have in them and the things that only they have. Life isn't all about sports. In fact the only sport I really like is soccer and basketball. A sport shouldn't be a time to be against each other to the point where fights are stared, a sport should be fun, exciting, and entertaining. Sports are boring because there isn't anything really exciting about them. This may sound ridicules but baseball is a sport when you are practically hitting a ball with a stick. And basketball is pretty much throwing a ball into a basket. Hockey is whacking a "PUCK" into a net. And football what the heck why would it be called football when you never even really kick the "FOOTBALL" it's so dumb. And its not even a ball. It's a demented weird pointed rounded object. Seriously I can't believe people can be so dumb that they get all angry over those things. It's so stupid. Seriously WTF. That is my opinion.

In the United States, why do some sports need heckling and trash-talk and some sports do not?

Baseball, with its origins in English sports like cricket and rounders, is considered a gentleman's game. Football and hockey, with their origins in sports played here on the continent of North America, are more working class, and thus encourage more crude behaviour than baseball. And what about basketball? Having been invented in my home state of Massachusetts, it's had its ups and downs, but it isn't yet the classy game that baseball is (and I doubt it will ever be so), so gutter behaviour is welcome there, too.

Why do most Americans like football so much?

Cus its AWESOME

Why is tennis and soccer, such lame sports, so popular?

Bad, bad grammar. You would do well to consider that your argument might have more impact if you presented yourself as thoughtful enough to use GOOD grammer.
Soccer is a great sport. The mere fact that it competes with baseball for summertime attention is why so many refuse to accept it, but those of us with wider attention spans can appreciate it, even while preferring baseball. Gridiron is a better name for American "football", since the American version uses kicking so little. I've never seen its attraction. Basketball is fine, but auto racing remains for me a sport (?) very much like tennis. You watch the tennis players whack the ball back and forth, back and forth, until someone flubs. Autos go around and around in circles until the one who didn't blow a gasket finally runs the length of the race.
I'll take baseball, thanks, but I don't put down the great sports.
