Why Is Bollywood Always Musical And Predictable And Not Of Indian Culture Anymore

Why are people from India so obsessed with American culture?

I am going to take a shot at answering this one. I do so because I feel more connected to the western ways than the Indian ways. The first thing I would like to clarify is that the word OBSESSION might be a bit of an exaggeration. Though I do admit that people relate to the American culture more than the Indian culture itself. I will break down my answer into parts so that I can take up each one individually. The effect of media. When was the last time you saw an indian television show ? Or truly appreciated a Bollywood movie ? (Count a few Akshay Kumar gems and aamir Khan master pieces out) . Indian entertainers are turning towards senseless and unending plots to numb the brains of the viewers and kill all possible feelings of logic. The average indian viewer doesn't want that anymore and thus turns towards the more logical, influential and better told stories of the west. I would prefer Interstellar over Sultan anyday. I would watch an American gangster movie over any Rohit shetty movie anyday. (No offences to the two legends Rohit shetty and Salman Khan, it's a humble personal opinion). One of the main reasons I ended up here is because most of the channels I watched as a kid were filled with American content. Had this not been the case, the bond wouldn't have been that deep. That being said, I also follow the Japanese tradition and always say thank you for the food ( a trait I picked up while watching naruto)The curiosity of the unknown: Americans, on their visits to india, act more Indians than most of us. While we rush behind Jeans and sneakers, they wear dhotis and khadav(wooden foot wear). The grass is always greener on the other side and imitations occur.Technology : in the age of the computer, it is the producer of the technology that will be hailed. America builds it's call centres in India and a lot of our youth is employed there. When your entire work is to talk with people of a certain culture for 12 hours a day and sleep 8 hours after that, don't you think cultures would start swapping? One would definitely start relating themselves to the ones he or she talks to.I am really sorry for the clumsy way I right. I hope to improve it. I will add more factors when I know them or someone points them out.

Why do Bollywood Movies suck?

Short Answer:Because we deserve it.Long Answer:You can simply do maths on box office collection of good movies and bad movies.Shit movies have high box office collection in comparison of good movies. Now let me clarify that which are good movies and bad movies from my point of view.Bad Movies: Chennai Express, Dhoom 2, Dhoom 3 (insulted masterpiece, The Prestige) Koi Mil Gaya (disaster rip off of ET), Boss (I tolerated this movie), Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam, Rab ne Bana di Jodi, Ra.One, Karan Arjun, Singh is King, House Full, Khiladi 786 & and Salman Khan’s all movies except Maine Payer Kiya (this movie is not great but OK as per salman’s standard), Welcome, Gunday, R… Rajkumar, etc.Good Movies: Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Udta Punjab, Raman Raghav 2.0, Badlapur, Drishyam, Masaan, Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, Manjhi The Mountain Man, Rahasya, PK, Haider, Highway, Lakshmi, Queen, Kai Po Che, Special 26, Madras Cafe, Anurag Kashyap’s almost all movies, Inkaar, Jolly LLB, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Andaz Apna Apna, etc.Sorry to mention above so much movies. I did this because someone can point out any movie which I categorized wrong. We Indians don’t like fine, tasty, hygienic served food in clean utensils. We like cheap spicy unhealthy food served in unhygienic utensils. Many of us seen movie Dumb and Dumber, starring Jim Carry and Jeff Daniels as protagonists. Both were so dumb, so much dumb that they didn’t differentiate between what is good or bad for them. We are those two idiots. In this video that tailor is our indian movie maker, their suit and tuxedo are movies created by that movie maker and those two dumbs are we. When tailor provide them sober and good suit, they sulk, after that he realizes their taste and makes a shitty suit and getting that shitty suits the become happy. This video sums up our Indian Film Industry and movie goers.P. S: Apologize my poor english.

How do you rate Bollywood vs Hollywood movies? Which one has meaningful stories and emotions?

I find that Bollywood movies are more entertaining. No gratuitous sex and the one time I saw a married couple kiss my eyes almost fell out because it was so unexpected. I know how the Indian culture regards kissing as an intimate and private exchange between partners and that to kiss in public can be regarded as pornographic to many. To an American it was a simple kiss and not a big deal. I just hadn’t expected to see it. Getting serious, there have been some movies that had deeper themes like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham about duty to family and how to balance personal goals against expectations and the film My Name is Khan about an autistic man trying to hang on to his life. If I thought about it hard enough I could add others. Those two are the ones that immediately came to my mind. Oh, I almost forgot to mention Monsoon Wedding. It had the usual dancing and musical numbers but sandwiched in between were the serious subjects of pedophilia and the lasting effects it can cause. I thought it was handled very well. Then there was the topic of a woman who was being married to someone she hadn’t met yet and who was having an affair with a married man at the same time. When she confesses because her conscience bothered her so much, the man reacts predictably and leaves. Later when they talk it turns out the upcoming marriage is the best thing for the both of them. I have seen it twice and I actually bought the movie because I liked it so much. I also bought My Name is Khan. I tried to get Kabhi Khushi but it was so hard to find and get here in the US I just gave up. I had watched it on YouTube until it got shut down for copyright violations.I love movies and Bollywood movies may seem more lightweight than their Hollywood counterparts but there is a charm and simplicity to the movies I don’t see in our own movies and I like that. There are some Bollywood movies that can hold their own to Hollywood productions. Thanks for the A2A.Note: I just remembered another movie I really liked Barfi! with Ranbir Khapoor. A simple story on the surface it dealt with issues like having a hearing handicap, a young woman with mental illness and how love finds its own way regardless of how society sees such unions.

Why does tite kubo keep using swastikas in bleach?

The original "swastika" was a guard , there fore, 1 side is longer than the width. The one with the shuriken badge was basically, definitely swastika. But a Swastika was long before germans.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika Check here before getting your facts straight. Also, the design has been used in Anc. Chinese, Japan, korea, in those paper windows.

Why does close captioning on TV mess up spelling, get words wrong, & act crazy even on old movies and reruns?

It doesn't make sense that a court reporter can accurately keep up with everything said in legal proceedings and yet a close caption system often cannot get the dialogue of a twenty year old movie right. Those who are hearing impaired deserve the best technology has to offer. However, at times I've seen close captioning acting completely loco and spewing out pure gibberish. In today;s high-tech wolrd this just does not add up.
