Do you get annoyed with people who have no manners?
I'm definitely NOT better than anyone or the person next to me but for some reason, bad manners and lack of awareness and respect really annoy me. I didn't grow up super rich or super poor - pretty good, middle class family. There's people who try to be "classy" and then turn petty issues into a big "etiquette" debate because they try to be classy and mannered. I don't like when people don't know how to behave in restaurants or have this fake polite demeanor just to show they have manners (when they really don't). I had a colleague we were eating with and it was embarrassing because she didn't make up her mind with what she wanted. She ordered for soup a but when received it, wasn't the one she wanted so asked for soup b (when she was unsure with her order to begin with). She did this more than once at that one visit. The waitress at one point offered her cheese over her food and afterwards said, "she didn't tell me when I should say 'stop'." No really? She doesn't have to tell you;you tell her. One person I knew was eating buffalo wings (in a nice place) as if she were eating at an outdoor picnic (or in her own room) - completely clean bones but was so disgusting. Also, we were at this nice restaurant downtown for a friend's birthday. One guy decided to go up and get the water pitcher himself and pour his own glass of water because he was impatient waiting for the water guy to do it. One "friend" thought it was funny...this same "friend" was offended when I left her dinner party early as well; despite me saying "good bye" and "thank you" to her and her husband. Again, I'm not better than anyone at all but I get so annoyed when people lack manners, consideration, awareness, and respect for others. I'm probably an over-sensitive prune but I just do not like it... how about you?
