Why Is Society So In Favor Of Minorities

Why are there so many minorities?

What has happened to this place?
I don’t recognize it anymore.
It used to be so fun and special.
What is life worth living for?
The dream is dead, our land is gone;
There’s a hole in my heart and I can’t go on.

There are too many minorities (minorities)
At my water park (my water park).
This was our land, our dream (our dream)
and they’ve taken it all away.
They just keep coming and coming (minorities).
I tried to go and tell the police,
But even the authorities
Are minorities
At my water park.

Why do leftists care so much about minorities, when they should care about the majority?

It's a moral imperative.Majorities are already empowered by virtue of being major segments of population. They already have many speaking for them. In the United States many more people are white, heterosexual and Christian than those who aren't. Majorities are not a protected class[1] because they are not often threatened, though when they are, they are fervently defended by many.A measure of a human being is not that she concerns herself with that which may threaten her. Even the worst of the criminals care for their families. That's not remarkable. That doesn't make us good.We are to look beyond our own well-being and help those whose lives have been tougher than ours.[2] We are to alleviate their burden whenever presented with an oportunity. We are to stand up for those whose ancestors were kidnapped and tortured, and enslaved,[3] and those who are because of it marginalized,[4] and segregated, and kept from earning a dignified living, and kept from renting homes at a fair rate, exploited, incarcerated en masse, and kept from casting votes,[5] and kept from pursuing their happiness.[6]Our lives are bigger than our own in that we are never alone. We are a society. Society has failed, if it failed to care for those in it. All of those in it.TL;DR A society that's failed to be fair needs to make amends. We, on the left flank, want fairness—for ourselves and our families, and people who look like we do and came whence we came, sure. But also for everyone who doesn't, and who didn't.And yes, I am aware that the right wing often calls such argument “virtue signaling,” implying the concern is insincere. I can live with that accusation—it's a cynical, cheap shot—for I have never been bored enough to defend myself from something that doesn't constitute an ethical or moral infraction. It's not a thing.[7]Footnotes[1] ‘It’s Impossible to Imagine Trump Without the Force of Whiteness'[2] We should all be feminists[3] An American Tragedy: The legacy of slavery lingers in our cities’ ghettos[4] The Beautiful Struggle[5] Opinion | The GOP turns to toilets to suppress more black voters[6] How Trump Radicalized ICE[7] James Poniewozik on Twitter

Why are minorities important in American society?

I have to create a debate case about minority values vs national culture, and right now I'm writing my affirmative case (minority cultural values should be valued above unified national culture).

So, why do you think minorities are important in American society?

So far, I have:
a) diversity is essential for new ideas, concepts, etc.
b) it would impede on their God-given rights/contradictory to the Bill of Rights regarding Freedom of Expression
c) the U.S. is a melting pot of cultures, so essentially, without them, American culture wouldn't even exist.

Do you think the media is biased in favor of minorities?

I do actually. In dearborn a grandma was beat half to death by black folks and they were just charged with assault, though it was clearly a hate crime. She told them to quiet down in chuckee cheese because her grandson was there and 7. They planned it too, the man who attacked her handed the baby in his hands to someone else in the party before he jumped over the table and popped her in the face, then dragged her out in the parking lot by her hair. This too.

Elizabeth smart, I remember her, it was totally sensationalized also. Trayvon is because the parents (Unlike most black parents) reached out to the police and the media. (And the shooter was a mexican)

Hate crimes are actually highest against mexicans now.

Is it okay for minorties to be hateful to the majority?

To clarify:
Minority: a group of people, within a society, whose members have different ethnic, racial, national, religious, sexual, political, linguistic, or other characteristics from the rest of society.

How is it that sometimes minority groups can wield so much political influence?

How is it that sometimes minority groups can wield so much political influence?Fore example, the gay community is in a minority yet it no doubt has changed society significantly. On the other hand, the majority of people support having less money in politics yet that doesn't happen. How does political science explain this seeming paradox? The LGBT community has three valid points going for it:A strong moral argument.A community that reliably turns out for one party and so gets owed favours.Almost all the opposition belonging to the other party so a party is not fighting against itself. The same goes for the anti-abortionists which is why they get quite a lot of progress - although the Republicans don’t want to leave them with nothing to aim for. (And the homophobes admittedly - but they get undermined a lot because too many people have gay kids, gay grandkids, gay cousins, etc.)The “get money out of politics” crowd on the other hand are far from united and the normal approach is “Get money out of politics starting with them.” Meanwhile there is opposition on almost every side because every single representative wants money to fight their election campaign. There is also the huge issue of the Supreme Court’s activist decision in Citizens United v. FEC in which they actively overturned both the previous bipartisan legislation to get money out of politics in the form of the 2002 Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act and the previous Supreme Court ruling in McConnell v. FEC. The quick background is that Citizens United (who are actually not related to the anti-Hillary group Citizen’s United Not Timid although the runners of both were senior members of the Trump campaign) decided that it wanted to run an anti-Hillary Clinton attack campaign in defiance of existing laws on campaign finance, opening it for any amount of soft money. And in defiance of previous rulings on the Constitution the Republican-dominated Supreme Court decided that that was just peachy. And that’s why there’s so much money in politics right now.

Why does Google pander to women and minorities?

The doodles are so stupid. It's like they are so desperate for female and minority inventors that they make a doodle for every stupid one.

Clara Rockmore invented the theremin? WHO CARES? What about the hundreds of white men who created much more relevant inventions on this day? Where are their doodles?

Anyone else sick of this emasculated, castrated, cuckolded societay that puts women and minorities on a pedestal?
