Why Is The Idea Of A Ufo Actually Being An Alien Spacecraft So Silly To Some People

Did a UFO really crash in Roswell NM? Were alien bodies secretly taken away to the infamous Area 51 along with the wreckage from their destroyed spacecraft?

No, no, and no. There’s obviously a cultural interest in extraterrestrials and ET spacecraft, as seen in thousands of science fiction television programs and movies, cartoons, comic books, coloring books, computer websites, YouTube videos, books of presumably non-fiction, and computer games. Not one of these things constitutes what any decent scientist would call evidence. Not anywhere near the evidence we have dinosaurs inhabited Earth between 200 and nearly 66-million years ago. IF any of these things you mentioned had actually happened, then scientists would have immediately recognized it as one of the most important science stories of all time. It would all be part of normal science textbooks. And scientists would actually be studying it. Do you really think these things occurred and yet have been somehow covered up by thousands of people?

Why does UFO automatically mean alien space ship? Anything could be a UFO until we see, and find out what it really is.

Having experienced an Unidentified Airborne Target on radar for 2 consecutive nights while in the USAF; which just magically appeared on our screens raised some very serious suspicions. The 2nd night NORAD scramble a pair of F-89Ds to have a look see. The target perform both an acceleration and a maneuver outside any science of then or even today could explain. No current technology could been capable of withstanding the forces applied to the craft or its inhabitants.You have people that have no UFO experience at all making accusations which are pure stupid. Where are their reference backing up their stupid statements? A government claiming they do not exist?I can guarantee anybody, this government is well aware of UFOs, and most probably have duplicated the technology and do have crafts of their own flying. In fact, most probable the target 60 years ago I witnessed being a USAF craft getting a radar signature. Doubtful any alien UFO would duplicate being at the same point in space on two consecutive nights, more like a human experiment, checking out some stealth technology.We never visually seen any object, however, 10 Airmen and probably 4 in the aircrafts all witnessed it on radar. The target appeared both night around 2:00 AM in the morning Sept 1957. Interestingly it being stated the German scientists were trying to reverse engineer two downed UFO as far back as almost a century ago. These folks came to America after the war and worked in top-secret military projects, space programs, and other technology areas.UFO does NOT mean alien crafts, however, the technology has to be alien origin, no human using today’s taught science (just a few feet from the cave) could possibly ever come close to duplicating what we witnessed 60 years ago.

Why isn’t the idea of UFOs taken seriously in most circles when there is a high statistical probability that we are not alone in the universe?

As an astronomer this is one of my favorite subjects. First the possibility of extraterrestrial life is taken vary seriously by many scientists including my self. We have had space vehicles for a bit over 60 years and in that very short period of time we have sent probes to every major body in the solar system and many of the moons and asteroids. It is not unreasonable to assume that if intelligent life exists elsewhere in the galaxy they would be able to do the same. However, It is hard to imagine, even for an someone that is accustomed to dealing with really big numbers, just how vast space actually is. Several thousand extrasolar planets have been discovered but so far non have been found that can support life as we know it. Now I recognize that the key phrase here is “Life as we know it”. Also small rocky planets like the Earth are very difficult to detect but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist.Whether UFO's are real or not they satisfy a deep psychological need. We need mystery. It is generally felt that science has stripped mystery from the human condition because scientists, at least some scientists, claim that science has all the answers or at least can find them. Honest scientists realize that this could not be further from the truth but the notion still exists in the minds of those without scientific training. UFO's provide a mystery that scientists find difficult at the very least. If we deny their existence we are participating in a conspiratorial cover up. If we accept the notion we are considered gullible and foolish, at least by our peers. It is a truly crummy situation with no real way to win. As a result, most scientists simply ignore the question leaving the issue to the layman and sensationalists. I for one have studied the question professionally as part of my job. I have never seen evidence that convinced me that intelligent extraterrestrial alien activity was responsible for any of the strange things I have seen. (And I have seen many very strange things) However, it must be remembered that absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. The Universe is a very big place and if we are alone it seems like a terrible waste of space. (apologies to Carl Sagan and "Contact") I for one will keep looking and hope that one day I will find that evidence that I have sought for over 50 years. I hope they are real, I really do, for the Universe will be a far less interesting place without them.
