Why On The Second Half Germany Scored Just This One Goal

DO you think Germany let Brazil score 1 goal just because they felt bad for them?

When that Brazilan player was trying so so hard to score a goal and kept running, the Germans didnt even wanna catch up and guard him. It seem to me like German didnt care if they make 1 goal or not . They let them score because they felt bad for them? what you think?
WHAT A EMBARRASSMENT FOR BRAZIL. Best match of the world cup season

Did the Germans intentionally score just one goal against the USA?

I don't think so it was intentional, specially not to keep Portugal out. 1. They had already thrashed Portugal 4-0 so there was no fear there.2. Except for their very first match against Portugal they never seemed their aggressive self, a 2-2 draw against Ghana and 1-0 win against France stands as proof.3. They would have qualified for the next round until they weren't beaten by a big margin. But they would also have wanted to top the group(to face a relatively weaker or team in poorer form in the knock-outs) so once they got the lead; like any sensible team they held it and didn't get too adventurous.4. Letting USA qualify for the next round didn't help them in any which way. The countries have never been best of friends (this maybe way out there, but I'll still seek the example of the World War II ) Whereas if it were for Portugal they could have expected some serious upsets on the other end of the fixtures. These upsets wouldn't have affected their campaign though.5. Players like Khedira and Ozil are close friends with Cristiano and Pepe and would have rejoiced in their qualification to Round of 16. 6. Throughout the match none of the German seemed complacent. they were active and wanted a win. Klose was introduced early in second half and he would have wanted to score a goal and break Ronaldo's recorded. In fact, all three substitutes made by Germany were on the offensive end, Klose, Schrulle and Gotze, which may very well indicate that they would have preferred thrashing USA.

What is your review on the Germany vs Mexico match in the FIFA World Cup 2018?

Mexico deserved to win .So , What went wrong for Germany ?Lack of quality in final third - Timo Werner couldn't withstand the physicality of Mexican defender and his lack of experience meant he was invisible during course of the game .Exposed Centre Backs - Meant that they were exposed on Mexico‘s counter attacks .Hummels and Boateng usually like to play high , and since fullbacks very deployed in a really attacking role , they were usually 1 on 1 with Mexican wingers.Lopsided attack- Germans tried to create overloads on their strong right side so that they could play from, left , however due to lack of quality left backs they couldn't convert those chances into goals .Lack of form - Germany had lost their last two Friendlies against Austria & Brazil : this had much of a psychological impact on the squad and pressurised them even moreMexico ‘s plus points -While Defending their midfield and Defensive lines were very compact thereby denying any space for the German midfielders . This overcrowding meant that they weren't able to pickup the right passes.Their pacy wingers helped in carrying the counter attack very quickly towards the attacking third . Morever the timing of their counterattack was well planned so that they could hit Germany when they were exposed the most .They were very press resistant and withstood Germans high press , losing possession very rarely .Their Centre Backs hare very strong Physically and experienced , therfore blocked most of the shots taken by the Germans .To Sum it upMexico had very clear gameplay- defend deep and counterattack when Germany are exposed the most , Germany on the other hand lacked a clear plan to breakthrough .-Your Average Football Fan

Why do you think big teams like Brazil and Germany are underperforming in the early stage of World Cup 2018?

A2A.Different games, different reasons.Germany vs MexicoI’m not sure Germany was expecting Mexico to come flying out the gate the way they did. Within the first couple of minutes Mexico came dangerously close to scoring twice. Germany tried to compose itself and impose their game on Mexico but Mexico was much faster and more aggressive to the point where Germany clearly didn’t know how to close them down. Carlos Vela in particular was torching defenses running up the middle and they had no answer for his speed. If that wasn’t a headache enough, Mexico also had Hirving Lozano constantly making runs up the sides with no one keeping him in check, plus his dribbling was outstanding. Then you had Herrera and Layún just setting up the attack with such ease it was difficult for the German midfield to focus on covering both, and on top of that Layún and Herrera are legit scoring threats as well. Mexico simply overwhelmed Germany and stopped Germany’s midfield from being effective. The second half had Mexico defending the lead, which in my opinion was risky, as Germany gained all the momentum at that point, which was a gamble but the defense held and it paid off. Also I think Löw is gonna regret, if he’s not already, not calling up Sané. Löw said he had to choose between Brandt and Sané and he chose Brandt. It was clear that in the second half Germany really could have used someone like Sané to open up Mexico’s defense. Brandt did okay and almost scored near the end but Germany really needed some explosiveness to exploit any weaknesses in Mexico’s backline.Brazil vs SwitzerlandYeah this was a weird one. Brazil started out well, but once Coutinho scored it was almost as if they decided to call it day. Job done. On to the next game. They had the level of complacency you’d expect a team that was up 4–0 to have. They seemed largely uninterested and even when Switzerland would make runs into the box they seemed to have this attitude like everything was under control. Their body language was just all wrong for a team that was just up by one goal and still had 70 minutes to play.It wasn’t until Switzerland scored where Brazil realized that there was actually still a game going on. By that time it was too late. Switzerland was more than happy to take the draw and just defend it. It was probably the most boring game of the tournament so far.
