Why People Use A Mouse On Their Laptop

How can I use a laptop on a monitor?

Yes. I don't know that I have ever seen a laptop with at least one type of video output that would allow the use of an external.monitor. Also, just about any keyboard and mouse with a USB connector can be plugged Into a laptop and used instead of the laptops built in keyboard and touchpad.
If you hook a monitor, keyboard and mouse to your laptop, you can close the lid and use it like a desktop. Or, you can connect a monitor to it and keep it open and use both screens. You can choose whether you want the same thing displayed on both, or if each one will display something entirely different.
A lot of people connect a 2nd display to their computer, laptop or desktop, and will use one screen to show a program like excel or their email and use the other screen to do other tasks like surf the web.
There are also devices called port replicators that allow you to quickly disconnect and reconnect your screen, keyboard, mouse etc. all at once. Makes it easier if you come and go with your laptop.

Why is using mouse with laptops controversial?

Controversial ?I use a wireless mouse with my laptop 99.99% of the time.In all the various MNCs I have worked with; a wired mouse was usually given by default with all laptops.Using a keyboard alone or using a keyboard + touch pad or an external mouse is more of a preference than any controversy.I have seen that ‘purists’ who know touch-typing prefer to use the keyboard alone and accomplish a lot with short-cuts.I also had a manager who hated touch pads, he was very comfortable with the pointer thingy that used to be standard with the Thinkpads (the red button in the image below)Image source: ubergizmoIn fact, one of the ‘funkiest’ mouse that I have used with my laptop was a Logitech V550, which had a small button type thing that could be stuck to a laptop lid.I could stick the mouse onto it when I was walking around carrying just my laptop. Quite a few people were curious and asked to see how was it attached to the laptop :)Image Source : SlashgearCurrently I use a M187 wireless mini mouse. It is quite tiny and a week or so getting used to; but very convenient.Image source : amazon.caSanjayLawMint.com - Online Exam Prep

Can you use a mouse with a laptop? If so, how?

A laptop is a less powerful desktop with an integrated keyboard, mouse, and screen. Can you use a mouse with a desktop computer?Assuming your computer has USB ports, the answer should be yes. It’s usually quite simple - take the USB plug on the end of the mouse’s cord, or the wireless dongle, and plug it into a USB port on your computer. You might have to wait a few seconds for the drivers to install. Then it’ll work, as well as the touchpad.

Why are laptop chargers on the left side?

Each and every laptop I look at has the charging port on the left side... Even Apple. I myself have a Dell and a Black Macbook and can't stand for the life of me that they charge on the left side.

My question is, Why the left?
And also... Why haven't they made it so you can charge from either side?
And doesn't it seem more convenient to charge from the right side?

If it was on the Right side of my laptops then the chargers wouldn't get so bent and give me the fear of shorting.

Can you see what I'm saying?
It make no sense to be on the left... Most of the population is Right handed and plugs into an outlet on the right side of the room thusly straining the cord to bend toward the wall and behind the computer... I'm rambling.

Thanks!

Why do so many people use trackpads?

Because if you are on as beach and want to do some work, you cannot use a mouse. So you would use the trackpad. (Apple calls the touchpad add the trackpad)If you are asking about the one which is located right in the mIddle of the keyboard then it it's because it's easy to use it at times when you do not want to move your hands too much and you do not require great precision of mouse placement. This thing is available in business grade laptops only and you can notice that such laptops also have two sets of mouse buttons.

Why do some laptops have a small red button in the middle of the keyboard?

That's a trackpoint. Better known as a clit mouse in some circles...It's an alternative way to move the mouse pointer. You nudge it in any direction and the mouse pointer will move in the same direction. It works surprisingly well once you get the hang of it, and many, especially among 'power users' prefer (or used to prefer, at least) it over touch pads or trackballs, since you can use it without moving your hands off the keyboard. It featured most prominently in IBM's ThinkPads- no idea whether Lenovo kept it -but was also available on other brands' notebooks. I had an HP with one in the early 2000s, IIRC...Update: I now have a 2012-ish Lenovo ThinkPad, and am glad to report it does, indeed, have one.

Do you use a Mouse with a MacBook?

While it is without doubt that the macbook has one of the best trackpad, there are times where trackpad is more efficient and time where mouse is more efficient. It is really a matter of which help you do thing faster. If I am merely surfing the web or just dealing with office documents, I would choose to use the trackpad. This is especially true if you doesn't have space to put the mouse, e.g on train or plane. But if I need to use photoshop, do some graphical work or perform clicking task rapidly, I would prefer a mouse.By the way, I use a Microsoft mouse with my MacBook
