My yahoo mail messenger keeps saying I have been disconnected. Why is this?
Mine is doing this too! I think yahoo should sort it out!!

you did something very wrong, you loaded yahoo with private messages left on, and your settings must be set at the default. don't worry though, it's easily fixed with a bit of know how. you see, alot of people use yahoo messenger for the wrong reason, they use it to "boot" others off chat, sometimes for no reason other than to satisfy a need to accomplish. "boot" means they are sending people bad files, in the form of a personal message, or lots of them, that automatically disconnect you from chat, sometimes after a brief pause or freeze. you just need to turn off p.m's to stop that. or , you can try a third party chat program. they take a while to get used to , but are much less prone to attacks. i have posted the links down below. if you keep having the same problem, let me know , through email, and we will have to arrange a time for remote assist. happy chatting.
Yahoo Messenger Disconnects Frequently?
Using Yahoo Messenger 8.1 on Windows XP. Yahoo Messenger constantly disconnects/re-connects often every 10-15 seconds. I have tried "no network detect", I have tried turning off my firewall. I have a second PC on the same home network and it works fine on that one. I have also tried using the GAIM client for Yahoo Messenger access and it disconnects in the same manner.
Why my messenger disconnect and disapear on its own????
If you don't install the 9.0 messenger correctly, it will not work (NOT ASSUMING YOU ARE TRYING TO INSTALL THAT VERSION, but most people with the same problem as you, are trying to Install the 9.0 version. It has to be,,,Run as the Administrator. I think if you Right click on the downloaded .exe after you download it, you will be able to Run as Administrator. If that is all too confusing you can,,, Do this,,,, Click on Start Button/ Settings/ Control Panel/ Add or Remove Programs. DUMP anything that says Yahoo Messenger (toolbar, address book etc etc etc) they will be listed at the bottom of that window if there are any), and go to this website,,,,, http://www.oldversion.com Scroll down (at the bottom of the page on the Left is Yahoo Messenger). Versions 3-8 are there to choose from. I PERSONALLY SUGGEST 7.0. BE SAFE Cheri PS. No, you will NOT lose any Contacts from a previous version you ran, they are all saved on Yahoos Sever and will transfer to whatever version you install.
Why do I keep getting diconnected from messenger when I access it from my yahoo email account?
I've been using yahoo messenger via Mail from my laptop and Yahoo Messenger app from my iPhone. I can no longer use messenger while in my Mail account from my laptop. After a minute or so I receive a message that says 'You have been disconnected from Yahoo Messenger'. I've made sure I was logged out everywhere, followed the basic trouble shooting guide and tried it via In Private Browsing but it's still happening.
What is the difference between Yahoo Mail and messenger, when I sign into one am I in the other?
I keep getting messages saying that I have been signed out because I have signed in on another computer or something like that when I might have signed in in messenger and Yahoo has asked me to sign into Yahoo-Mail or My Yahoo. I am so confused but I tend to do what I have to do anyway. Is it possible that sometimes help is no help because I am in the wrong program and I didn't know it? This is a problem if integration of Mail & Messenger. I cannot select both for a suggested category or when I browse the categories.
Connecting to another messenger client from paltalk.?
You need to download the paltalk interop. I use the new paltalk beta 9.2 (it's here: www.paltalk.com/beta ) and it has a seperate yahoo icon at the top of the main paltalk window. Click on it and it will download the interop automatically. I believe if you're using an earlier version, that the interop link is at the bottom of the main paltalk window. Hope this helps.

mines seem to be doing the same thing, and i wont realize it, until i stop getting messages, im thinking it may be the newest version but im not sure, and i cant find any older ones to download. sorry that this didnt asnwer your question but maybe it will help you see out more answers?!

Delayed messages.The problem is due to the large files that are being download, if you have dial-up and your computer is not one of the latest system, you will be encountering problem of delayed messages. You need not change the Messenger.As changing the messenger will not solve the problem. Are you using window blinds or alien guise or some other window enhancement program? e.g. programs that add extra buttons like transparency and keep always on top or change the look of the windows in anyway (not including standard XP themes) if so disable it and yahoo should work. Tools> internet options> general > clear history > set the number of days to zero> ok. AlsoYahoo changed the sounds in YM8. You can replace the new sounds with the old ones.
