Wifi Disconnects During Movie

If a torrent disconnects does it corrupt the file?

no, torrents have checksums they use to validate the data as it's downloaded. and even if you did manage to get the file corrupted it would repair itself (either when a user tried to get the corrupted part, or you ran a check on the file manually).

Torrents are awesome that way.

Why do I keep having to disconnect and reconnect to my wireless network?

A few days ago I encountered a problem, my computer began stuttering and lagging, making it impossible to watch videos or play video games, which is the main reason I even bought my computer. I originally thought the problem could be fixed by doing a system restore so I restored it to a couple of months ago, but the problem persisted, and yes I did turn the router off and on a few times but that did not help and I reset the router as well neither did that. The problem is not in the wireless network because both my iPhone and my tablet don't have this connectivity issue. The internet is sporadic at best, if I am lucky I will get four bars, but inevitably it drops to three and then eventually two and at two it begins lagging and stuttering. Once I disconnect from the internet the computer even speeds up(I obviously cannot go onto the internet but my mouse stops lagging and fidgeting). All I have to do to get the connection back is click the wifi icon and then disconnect and reconnect to the internet, but this is an extreme inconvenience and not as fun as it sounds if I am playing a game online or watching a movie and the audio starts stuttering or if the connection becomes really bad in the middle of a download... This problem has become extremely frustrating and I have work to do on the computer. Any help would be much appreciated

I have an Asus desktop with 8 gigs of RAM running windows 7 home premium 64 bit with and i7 processor

Why does the mall wifi disconnect every 5 minutes?

They do it to prevent people from camping on the mall's free wifi and downloading movies.

Most people only use the wifi to check a few bits of information and that's it so they don't notice that the wifi logs them out after a few minutes.

My internet keeps disconnecting from my iPhone when I'm on Youtube. Why is this happening?

Likely because the power is being used too rapidly and the phone will prevent the battery from draining that fast. Plug it in or use a port-a charger while doing so and see if it differs? Also Never use a Samsung Charger on an iPhone as you will see funky stuff happen. Likely you have other apps running in the background as is the case for most phones and some of these connect to servers frequently utilizing much of your allowed bandwidth and resources of your phones capabilities and it is getting very hot and the weaker your battery gets from doing this the more heat it will generate trying to keep up as well as to charge the phone. The older a battery gets the harder and longer it has to charge to maintain and get to that charge point, this is the reason a Macbook battery is limited to 1000 charge cycles so that the nominal demands can be met without over taxing components, even though you may likely get 2000 to 3000 charge cycles from a Macbook battery its not efficient. Just a hint.

How can you avoid being disconnected on a Whatsapp call when someone calls your mobile?

If you intend to enjoy uninterrupted calls on WhatsApp while still using your 3G/4G mobile data Goto your phone’s call forwarding option and forward your incoming phone calls on some other number/voicemail or missed call alert number (activated/provided by your operator) this will resolve the issue of WhatsApp call getting interrupted by an incoming regular call, the other alternative is to use wifi if you are in coverage while putting your phone on aeroplane/flight mode.

How many computers can I connect to my home wifi?

You'll probably run out of money before you reach the cap of the amount of devices! The problem with that many devices however, is that if they run torrents and don't tune their torrent clients, your router won't be able to handle the amount of connections (and run out of bandwidth to share).

You can install for example a pfsense firewall/router on one of the computers and make it act as the default gateway.
pfsense is an open-source firewall that has plenty extra tools like traffic shaping capabilities.

If you don't like pfsense, there are a whole load of other tools available (just google for traffic shaper). The thing is, you have to force everyone to use the traffic shaper as the default gateway instead of going straight to your router. You'll just have to change the DHCP settings on your router to set the default gateway to the IP of your pfsense (or other traffic shaper). All other settings can remain the same.

Internet radio keeps disconnecting/stopping?

That is a result of the placement of your wifi router and where the antenna is on the device you are using to pick up the signals. If there is something blocking the line of sight - a book case, rafter, person, furniture, stairs, wall, it may not get a clean signal, causing it to pause, and then buffer the results to attempt to keep that from happening very often. It may also be caused by a busy connection - at your house or nearby connection, that is consuming all or much of the bandwidth of the connection. The network speed claimed by your carrier is often the maximum they can deliver down to the leaf nodes of the network. The problem comes when a few users consume most of the bandwidth, listening to music, downloading files, movies, etc. The networks were not really designed for all of the traffic consumers want to use, especially with all of the new devices they want to plug into the network, that constantly floods the network with information.

It will get worse, not better - unless you can run a wire from your router to the device, and even that might not help, if you have older, slower connections - modem/router or thanks to neighbors that might be eating all the bandwidth.
