Will A Hair Stylist Be Able To Remove My Black Hair Dye In One Salon Visit

Will Color Oops remove black hair dye?

I've read mixed reviews on Color Oops and still had questions so I thought I'd write my own question and explain my own situation.

I've had my hair dyed blue black for several months now and I've decided I want to return it to my natural color (which is a medium brown) and stop coloring it all together. My hair is shoulder length and layered and it has about three layers of black dye in it. This is because my hair has a really blood red undertone and a few weeks after dying it black I began to see the red through the black in the sunlight so I thought the dye was fading. So I dyed it again and then a time after that before I realized the black was not fading, its just impossible to dye over that undertone. So I've just been touching up my roots for the past few months.

I'm worried that Color Oops won't be able to take out all of those layers (as far as I've seen its only for small hair mishaps). I've heard excellent reviews on the Loreal Color Remover, but I'm really intimidated by products with bleach... However, if thats my only chance of getting rid of the black then I'll definitely give it a shot.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks (:

How do you remove Splat jet black hair dye?

So about 2 or 3 months ago I dyed my sandy/dirty blonde hair jet black.. I didnt like bleach it 1st or anything.. and I wash it constantly but it hasnt washed out much and I just want to get my natural hair color back... Should I just dye it or bleach it or what? Any advice? It'll help me out alot :)

I dyed my hair black from blonde, and I hate it. How can I lighten it up without bleaching my hair again?

I had this same problem.  I've been colouring my hair black for the past year or so but wanted to go back to blonde (my natural hair colour).  But I did not want to a) fry my hair and b) walk around with an orange head!So what I did is this:First step: I went to the hairdresser to add some highlights to my black hair.  The highlights came out a somewhat "goldie" colour and simply lifted the black a bit, yet it did not look too intense, especially after a few washes (as it would have if I bleached my whole head).  So I could still go out in society without looking like a clown.  LOL!  Second step: I waited 3-4 weeks (to give my hair time to recover)Third step: After 3 weeks I put hair colour remover to my hair (NOT the type which has peroxide in it - the type which only removes hair colour).  I don't think the product matters that much - as long as it does not contain peroxide.  Also, go for one that says maximum strength.  The colour remover made a big difference and lightened the black areas to a golden brown colour, while the highlights remained in tact.  So at the moment I'm not yet fully blonde but I now have golden brown hair colour with highlights.  My next step is to wait another 2-3  weeks and then add some more colour remover (or, alternatively, go back to the hairdresser and add some more highlights) to lighten it up even more. The reason I did the highlights first was because the colour remover does have the effect of giving your hair a slightly orangey tone.  But that is counteracted by the highlights (which stays in tact even after using the colour remover).  I also added some toner to my hair to counteract the orange.I think no matter what you do, if you want to lighten your hair from black, you will end up with orange/golden tones so the key is to change it mildly, step by step so that it won't look too intense.

Can you dye hair dark blonde after bleached and toned hair?

Yes, it's possible, I definitely recommend going to a professional. Hair that's been bleached can be very difficult to color over and look natural. This is because bleach changes the condition and texture of your hair, which and makes the porosity, or how the hair absorbs and holds color, different all over the head. Usually on bleached hair, the ends usually grab color very quickly and has a flat appearance. If you put one color all over your head, it would likely be darker at the ends, and the color would lack richness and shine. If you use an ash color, it might turn blueish or green instead of blonde. Bleached hair needs to be filled, and layers of different colors put on the hair, so that it has dimension and shine and looks natural. I recommend going to a reputable salon, and asking the stylist to weave your entire head with different shades of light golden brown, and dark golden blonde. You do not want one all over color put on your hair, even if the stylist wants to do that, trust me! The gold will ensure that the hair doesn't turn greenish, and lowlights will leave out pieces of  the bleached hair, which will act as highlights. After the lowlights, you may need a toner in a very light beige blonde all over the head. It may take more than one visit to get the desired result, depending on the current condition of your hair.

Is it possible to lighten black hair with 40-volume developer creme?

You can’t combine developer and another color to color your hair if it’s black. If you used color to get to your black hair color, and now want to change it, you’ll have to do a slight color correction by stripping your hair. This means using a lightener (we hate the term bleach) combined with a hydrogen peroxide developer to get the black color out of your hair. This takes time and patience. DO NOT try to lift your hair in one sitting. This will damage it to the point of no return. It will take multiple salon visits to get the black out of your hair.

Does a perm remove hair dye?

Ok so... i had to dye my hair back to my natural color after dying it pink 2 months earlier to visit my grandparents (who are against odd colored hair). I have been wanting to get my hair permed for about 4 years now and may get it done Monday (still with grandparents). My hair has been back to brawn since July 19th 2011 and I was wondering... seeing as I never bleached my hair (at all) and you can still see a little bit of pink... * WILL THE CHEMICALS BRING THE PINK OUT MORE SO THEN IT IS???* I mean I dont care if they know cause they'll see it pink in a month but i want to hold off on that as long as possible. (since Im dying it back when i return home)

Does Color Vanish Hair Dye Remover work?

I have naturally blonde hair that has been dyed both brown and red in the past 5-6 months. I have been dying my hair every color from my natural light blonde to black for the past 8 years and have gone back to my natural shade three times. The first time I went to an Aveda salon at the age of 13 with faded dark brown hair and came out 6 hours later with my natural tone, perfectly pinpointed. The second time I went to the same salon at the age of 15 with dark brown hair but had a different stylist who insisted to me that it was impossible to go back to my natural shade in one day. She put my hair through an awful transitional phase for about 6 months, slowly bringing me back to blonde. This was easily the worst my hair has ever looked and was just as damaged as it would have been had I had it all done in one day - but my stylist pocketed an extra $300. The third time I went to a totally different salon and stylist who told me she could do all of the blonde in one day but only put a few highlights on the top of my faded auburn hair. I was 16 at the time. She told me AFTERWARDS that I would have to come back to finish the job. I after trying to process my hair back to blonde on my own and slowly getting back ti a very unnatural and uneven blonde, I went back to brown, then red. The red is scarier than Pennywise.

I found a supposed miracle product "Color Vanish" and read sky high great reviews. My questions are in the comments! (Sorry for the lengthy hair history)

Black hair dyed blonde - turned out orange! It looks terrible?

I had black hair before I tried to go blonde. (I'm telling you now, I don't have the money to visit a salon or hairdresser).

It turned out bright orange. If I bleach it again - will it go blonde?
How many times will I have to bleach it before it will go blonde?

I don't care if my hair gets damaged. I really want to have blonde hair.

Once more, I don't have the money for a visit to the hairdressers.

Thanks in advance.

Hair - black on top, blonde on bottom?

your doing EXACTLY what im going to do. Black on top and bonde underneath. I talked to my hair dresser already about it. She says it very easy to do and she can do it in one trip to the salon.

she said in order to see the blonde underneath, you'll need to get razor cut layers and then it will be perfect. and she said she can make the blonde as light as i want.

you just need to go to the hair dresser to get the exact color blonde you want underneath for it to turn out right and you deffinatly need the razor cut layers. long but choppy layers are best.

hope i helped!

My hair stylist made my hair brown instead of blonde!?

I had shown her a picture of a light blonde/golden blonde that looks NOTHING like brown..
I used to have bleach blonde hair and just wanted a couple shades darker to a light-golden color and she had ruined it completely.

Its a golden-brown color now, I've been dying my own hair until the one time I try the salon and they ruined it.
I'm going to buy a box dye.. does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Do I need a bleaching dye to get the light brown out of my hair, or will a regular blonde color stick to it?
They said it would fade and second I got home I shampooed it 7 times. I want this gone so bad ):
