Wow! “How could you” is my instinctive response, as a Gerrard worshipper.I don't think it was deliberate. It is weird that players at that level find themselves in such situations sometimes but the pitch has its own way too. Gerrard is a player who wore his heart on his sleeve. He was sure that his Premier League career was drawing to a close. In his illustrious career with Liverpool, the one accolade he missed was the Premier League winners medal. Of the couple of times Liverpool got close to winning it, that season was probably the best shot they had. Would he have slipped deliberately? Would a player, who plays with the kind of passion Gerrard had, risk possibly the only missing footballing glory in his career? No!I am a Liverpool fan and hence it's hard to be unbiased but yet this feels like a straight one!
