Can you lose weight by not eating?

when you stop eating your body goes into panic mode and slows down your metabolism. You will feel tired and drowsy all the time.


When you do eat, your body will turn that into fat and attempt to store it.

its not a good idea, just eat normally and exercise daily.

A common misconception is when people think about exercise they think about hear beating fast, lungs hurting, and pushing your body to the limit. That is exercise but you don't have to do that to loose weight.

Just try walking 30 - 1hr a day at 3. - 3.5 mph. Try to keep your heart rate at 130 for optimum fat burn.

Will I lose weight eating 500-700 calories a day?

You will lose weight at first. I know that because I've done it. I don't want to lecture you but I'll give you as much information as I can, read as much as you want.

At first, you will lose huge amounts of weight, much more than the typical diet. I was losing about 3kg a week at most while eating that much and burning about 1000 calories a day with cardio. Eventually, your body will get used to eating that much and your weight-loss will get slower and eventually stop.

Now, most people will tell you that you will put the weight back on now. That's not necessarily true. If you keep exercising a lot after finishing your diet and slowly increase your calorie intake, you can keep the weight off. You will however, have do deal with strong hunger pangs and carb-cravings. If you're strong willed and can deal with it, then you will be able to keep the weight off.

For anyone who will say that the weight won't stay off, I've lost over 50 pounds doing that and have managed to keep it all off for over a year (Sticks tongue out). ;) As for underlying problems, I've gotten my bloodwork done recently and am perfectly healthy.

Will I lose weight if I only eat fruits?

To a certain extent, yes, you would lose weight. Your body uses carbohydrates for energy, it would burn those off.But you wouldn’t be eating enough protein nor fats, and your body would sacrifice your protein reserves over your fat reserves. This is due to your body believing it is in a survival mode because it lacks essential vitamins, nutrients, proteins and fats.The lack of protein will cause your muscle mass to decrease. Fruits and vegetables should make up a large portion, fresh and frozen are ok. Also eat at least 50 grams of protein per day. If you are vegetarian or vegan, there are a multitude of resources online for alternatives to meat. Also 20% of your diet should be fats. They can be healthy fish or plant oils; seeds and nuts are another great source. Cheese and milk are ok as fat and protein supplements, but don’t overindulge. The last source should be from grains and legumes, although the American food pyramid is outdated with it’s crazy 6–11 servings. Aim for 2–4 and try to use non-processed grains if possible.

If I stop eating junk food will I lose weight? PLEASE HELP! ! ! !?

started this Diet (lifestyle change) in the middle of November at 140lbs, and now at 119lbs

youll lose like 5-8 pounds a week thats a good plan. you should at least eat a LITTLE on the other days thou, or else your body goes into a hyperbolic starvation mode and you dont lose as much weight. eat about 200 calories a day and 500 on the weekends.

If I eat pickles for a week will I lose weight?

You won't die but that's not a good way to lose weight.
Although pickles don't have calories, they are salted. Salt is bad.
Just cut out all carbohydrate, sodium, and sugar from your diet. Drink 8-12 ounces of water before every time you eat. Yes, you'll be going to the bathroom a lot, but it helps you make sure you're hungry and not just thirsty as people usually mistake thirst for hunger. Just eat whole grains, no dairy unless it's low fat, NO JUNK FOOD, no dessert. For instance, a good dinner would be grilled salmon spritzed with lemon, spinach salad, and whole wheat pasta with a sprinkling of low fat cheese.
Losing weight doesn't happen overnight, you have to exercise as well. Always check with your physician before doing any system cleanses.
Know that whatever you consume does have an effect on your body! If you usually don't drink water but juice or energy drinks, just switching to only water can help! Don't eat another you wouldn't eat if you were training for a marathon. Make sure to eat 3 meals a day with 2 light snacks or 6 small meals a day otherwise your metabolism may slow!
