Will The New York Knicks Beat The Milwaukee Bucks On Their Home Opener

New York Knicks has competent players like Courtney Lee, Joakim Noah, not to mention Melo, D-Rose and Porzingis. Why are they still losing so much?

The key answer to this question is depth. The Knicks don’t really have any. Yes they have some decent pieces coming off the bench (I rate O’Quinn, Jennings, etc), but the depth at the moment isn’t so much about the quality of the players, but more specifically the types of players they have. The current Knicks team is lacking in explosive, athletic wing talent. They are also lacking real lock down defenders, and couple that with the fact that Hornacek is anything but a Defensive coach, and you’ve got some issues.Where the Warriors have guys around 6′6 - 6′9 (Clay, Livingston, Iguodala, Green, etc) who are all capable of guarding guys 1–4 (Green and Iggy can probably guard some 5’s at a pinch), the Knicks have a bunch of smallish Guards, and enough capable bigs, and nothing in between. It means on the pick and roll they get torched, and they lack those swiss-army-knife types which allow you to mix and match in today’s NBA.If they had a coach who could be more flexible in the way they approach the game (not dissing Hornacek’s style, but he needs to adapt to his personnel a bit more), then it might close the gap between the Knicks and the upper echelon of the East, at the moment they’re still a couple of pieces away from being truly competitive. If I were the Knicks, I would play Jennings (or any other pieces with trade value not named Porzingis) more up to the trade deadline and increase their trade value, and then try to ship him/them somewhere where he/they can add value and compliment their new team, and try to get back a couple of young guys/picks with size and length so they can develop with Porzingis.I doubt they get all this done before Melo becomes obsolete (if they wait and do it through the draft), but they’re on the right path. They’ve come a very long way under Phil in a very short space of time.

Would the 2000-2001 Lakers championship team have beaten any NBA team in history in a 7 game series?

The 2000-2001 Lakers had a mediocre regular season if compared to the regular seasons of the '96 Bulls or even the '15 Warriors, but when the postseason came, and the postseason is what I will answer this question with regards to, the '01 Lakers had the best run (W/L) ever ending the postseason 15-1... Even the '96 Bulls had 3 losses in their 72-10 season. Now lets see the magnitude of the Laker's dominance:Series 1: 3 Game sweep of PortlandAvg margin of victory was about 14 ppgSeries 2: 4 Game sweep of SacramentoAvg margin of victory was 9 ppgSeries 3:4 Game sweep of the Number 1 seed SPURSAvg margin of victory was about 22 ppg!!! And this includes a 39 point blow out in Game 3, and a 29 point win in Game 4!!!This series was most likely the biggest murder of a 1 seed in NBA history... Kobe shot 51.4%, averaged 33.3/7/7Shaq shot 54.1% (against Duncan/Old Robinson), averaged 27/2.5/13Series 4: 5 Game victory over 76ersAvg margin of victory was 10 ppg... (avg +/- was 6.8 ppg)ONLY loss came at home with OTEnded series with 14 and 12 point victoriesSo to sum this up: The Lakers swept their way to the finals, and made sure they used Swiffer Wet Jet when doing so... I believe, that although they were not the best team ever, they could have beat any team in a 7 Game Series if it were to be played under any circumstances... Nobody is going to stop Shaq, and the young Kobe Bryant in the 2001 season could go up against any other SG with ease, besides MJ... Against MJ, Kobe would still be able to stand his ground though... //Sorry in advance for typosEDIT: All the teams the Lakers went up against had at least 50 wins (avg of  about 55 wins)...

How do NBA playoffs and conferences work?

There are 2 conferences, Eastern and Western Conferences. 3 divisions in each conference consisting of 5 Teams each. depending on where the team is located (i.e. southwest, pacific, Atlantic) The Top 8 teams of each conference based on record, regardless of division, advance to the playoffs. so there are 8 Eastern Teams and 8 Western Teams. The Top 4 Teams in each Conference get Home-court advantage. The seeds decide who faces whom in the playoffs (1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5) Teams play in a 7 game series. Most People think that the Western Conference in the tougher Conference of the 2 because many teams on the cusp of .500 or a little past .500 in winning percentage make the Eastern conference playoffs while most teams with identical records in the west are far from getting in the playoffs.

Who is the Best Dynamic Duos in the NBA History?

This is very hard so ill elimante some first.

Bill Russell and Bob Cousy simply because not much competition back then

Larry Bird and Kevin Mchale because it was more of a trio with parish

Oscar robertson and Kareem Abdul-Jaabar because they only won one championship

Walt Frazier and Willis Reed were not as dominant as some of these other duos

Jerry West and Wilt Chamberlain because they only won 1 ring and couldnt beat the celtics

Julius Erving and Moses Malone they became teamates kind of late in Ervings career and only won twice.

Isaih Thomas and Joe Dumars because that pistons team was a team and they all contributed not just them two

Tim Duncan and David Robinson because Duncan joined Robinson late and didnt play together for that long

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook have yet to prove anything special

Gary Payon and Shawn Kemp never won and arent as dominant

So that leaves

Mj and Pippen
Magic and Kareem
Shaq and Kobe
Malone and Stockton
Lebron and wade

1. Magic and Kareem were simply unstoppable throughtout the 80's winning 5 rings together and had unbelievable chemistry and were just great teamates.

2. Shaq and Kobe they were destroying in the early 2000's winning three straight championships and if it wasnt for there unfornuate departures from each other they would be number 1 on this list easily.

3. MJ and Pippen. Everyone knows how they won 6 championships together but MJ won all the finals Mvps and was the main star so they cant really be an equal duo.

4. Lebron and Wade are going to win several championships together and will be contenting for the next 7-8 years they are great players toghether.

5. If Malone and Stockton won 3-4 Championships they would be number 2 on this list they were incredible together with Malone the second all time leading scorer and Stockon the all time leading passer and they both played there whole career for the Jazz.

Who is the best player on these teams?

Milwaukee - Jennings. Michael Redd hasn't playing like himself after the injury. Though I don't love Jennings and I still think Tyreke Evans deserves ROTY over him, he plays great. Bogut has had some hot games, but Jennings scores with relative ease. All 3 players are somewhat inconsistent though.

New York - Gotta go with David Lee, though Al Harrington comes at a close second. The dude is a monster on the block. And he can come up clutch, too. But, Harrington is a better all-around scorer than Lee. Nate isn't that good to begin with. I get this idea that that first game back was just a fluke. He doesn't normally shoot that well. Danilo Gallinari's shoots well, and he's rising as a better defender, but he still needs to grow if he wants to be considered all-star material. I don't know much about Wilson Chandler. I know he can finish inside well, but that's about all I know. Judging by his stats, I'm pretty sure he's not the best on the Knicks.

Charlotte - Gerald Wallace for sure. He plays great D, hustles well, and he's third in the league in boards. And let's not forget his buzzer-beating tip-in last night. Stephen Jackson has playing great after being traded to the Bobcats, but it won't be long until his attitude ruins the chemistry of that team as well. The way I see it, Stephen Jackson ruins teams. He ruined the Pacers, and he acted like a little ***** on the Kings this season.

Detroit - This one is the toughest one. I'd go with Rip Hamilton. His averages aren't impressive, but he's outstanding on the offensive end. And he's been out for a few weeks this season, yet he still makes himself well-known. Tayshaun Prince played amazing in past seasons, but after this injury, who knows how he'll turn out. Ben Gordon played well off the bench last night, but he doesn't always shoot well. He and Rip seem to have the same role on the Pistons, but Rip is slightly better. All 3 of them have had problems staying healthy this season. I think another honorable mention is Rodney Stuckey. He shoots a lot, but his numbers are hard to deny. However, he's been in a slump lately. Then again, so have all of the Pistons really.
