Will We Need To Staff The Wh With Corrections Officers If The Gop Gets Its Way

What would happen if either the Democrats or Republicans gained absolute control over the U.S. and its laws?

Actually, this “complete control” situation has occurred several times in our history. And the fact is that even when one party or the other has such control, nothing much changes. The unfortunate reality is that the wealthy/corporate class actually have control of the government. The politicians, the president, members of congress, all answer to the corporations. They pretend to be representing “us” but they don’t.This is why for example, when the Republicans had complete iron clad control of the government during the first six years of the GW Bush “administration”, they didn’t go to work right away to reverse Roe v Wade with legislation banning abortion. They didn’t immediately enact laws requiring that all public school curricula be based on the King James version of the bible. They didn’t instantly enact policies to deport all of the illegal aliens form the country. They didn’t make it illegal to be gay or lesbian. And so on.The reality is that neither party wants any of these divisive non-issues to be resolved, because during election years, both parties use them as campaigning points. But during the GW Bush administration, as well as the previous Clinton administration, the rich got richer, and the rest of us had to pay the price for that. The only difference is the means by which this transfer of wealth is accomplished.Under Clinton, the Glass Steagall Act was repealed which paved the way for the Mortgage Real Estate bubble that nearly ruined the world economically. It was during Clinton’s administration, that “private industry for profit” prison systems arose. When Bush was elected, the first thing he did was cut taxes for the rich. His next accomplishment of note was to start a couple of hugely expensive wars. Both of these “executive actions” had the effect of exploding the National Debt for the benefit of billionaires, and corporations that profit from wars.In both administrations in other words, the rich made out like bandits, and the rest of us got stuck with the cost associated with their increased wealth. It doesn’t matter really which establishment party is in control of the government. They are both just extensions of the power of the wealthy/corporate class who actually control it all.

Will President Trump fire Robert Mueller now that he's crossed Trump's 'red line' by looking into his personal finances?

No.If you value your sanity and want some semblance of reality in your world view, *stop* watching CNN or reading Buzzfeed.Isn’t it clear at this point that they’ll say anything to discredit Trump?Trump is far savvier than portrayed. It is difficult to turn an inheritance into 1000X it’s initial value, write your first book that becomes a NYT best seller, build an international real estate empire, have your first foray into TV a top rated primetime series for close to a decade, and then win the Presidency on your first attempt—if you are an idiot. With all due respect, I challenge anyone at CNN or Buzzfeed to accomplish one of the above feats that Donald Trump seemed to accomplish with ease. How’d he do it? Well, he really is great at negotiating and getting to a desired outcome. One key in negotiating is you don’t let the other party know what you’re desired outcome is nor your strategy.I will bet anyone on Quora $1000 (I keep winning these bets and no one to date has paid me…hmmm….), that Trump will not fire Mueller but the investigation will come to an end without any indictment of collusion. That was a trope that the press has conveniently dropped about the Mueller investigation. The thing is that Mueller does answer to the DOJ and there is a new sheriff in town that did not recuse himself. Thus the $50M, 17 investigators to find something, anything on Trump will come to an end most likely in 2019. There will be findings but to date they are not substantive. Yes, Trump paid Stormy Daniels to shut up about their one night stand through Michael Cohen (not a crime.)Digging through trashcans and underwear for something, anything by Mueller will come to a conclusion with nada Russia Collusion. The Democrats may continue the sniffing out for something, anything and CNN and Buzzfeed will continue to proclaim “impeachment near!” but at some point most folks will equate them with “crying wolf” and literally, fake, unreal, made up stuff (I can’t call it news.)Trump will win in 2020 simply because America (for most Americans) is better than it was in 2016.

Do you think the war on drugs has been a success or failure in the United States?

I saw a plug for a documentary today talking about a new show that followed the Narcos. One clip we were shown is what a graveyard looks for these Latin American drug lords the United States is funneling billions of dollars per year into fighting. You can be forgiven for initially thinking this is a wealthy suburb of Mexico City or Beverly Hills. It’s not. it’s outside a city smaller than either one of them and is surrounded by paupers’ graves. One has real cojones to style their tomb into a castle. No joke this is what counts for a graveyard among the Latin kingpins. If the war on drugs was a success, how the everloving hell are the primary instigators buried more extravagantly than Egyptian pharaohs? The only upshot is these lavish tombs exist because the life expectancy of a cartel boss is pretty short. So they toss money around to enhance their own lifestyles literally like there’s no tomorrow. So no, I consider the War on Drugs an unmitigated disaster because the people we are told it would fight are swimming in money off a product that is worth more per kilo than gold. They’re getting rich and living like kings while incarceration rates stateside (both in total and per 100,000) exceed the rates in less democratic states like China and Russia. Most of which are American citizens who aren’t Latino according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. This Narco Cemetery Has Graves With Air Conditioning and Cable TVHow a Mexican Drug Cartel Makes Its BillionsBBC NEWS | In DepthInmate Citizenship
