I own a MacBook Air and I've been using it for the past 6 months. I'm a Computer Science student too just like you. I would list all the advantages and disadvantages of the laptop.Pros1- Butter smooth in using2- Very good trackpad and keyboard especially the gestures3- Very thin4- Awesome looks5- MacOS- The best and most stable operating system on Earth6- You get all the necessary ports not like the newer Macbooks with USB-C ports7- It is fast enough for anything CSE will throw at it and then some.8- You can install Windows on it.9- The hardware is made for the software it needs to run and the software is designed to run on the hardware. So it is a perfect match.10- Absolutely awesome when used with an iPhone.11- No virus, no hang. I gave my pen drive to a friend and it came back with a virus but it couldn't run on my laptop. Cool12- Every peripheral is plug and play, no need to look for CD's just to install that driver.13- Siri- She can search folders, get the weather, convert currency, set reminders, show your recent files and a whole lot more.14- The Apple ecosystem is good and it is not a walled garden as people say.15- Used by the top coders, music artists, DJ's and many more.16- The interface is awesome and I feel it is at the heart of everything Apple designs.
