Windows 8 Laptop Touchpad Not Working

Toshiba touchpad not working after windows 10 update.?

I bought a Toshiba Satellite S55t-B5152 and as soon as I got it, which was today, I upgraded to Windows 10. Immediately after the upgrade I noticed that the touchpad wasn t working at all. Only the touchscreen would work. I went into the device settings and activated the touchpad, so now the cursor moves, but the buttons don t work. Not really sure what to do. I m extremely irritated because it s brand ******* new and I just need it fixed before I have to take it in somewhere. Thank you!

Asus Windows 8 touchpad not working?

It won't cost much to purchase a replacement touchpad. Search eBay for your model of laptop and you should find something. In the meantime, I suggest disconnecting your touchpad and removing it from the laptop altogether (search for your laptop model and "disassembly" for instructions). Make absolutely certain that none of the shampoo went further into the machine than the touchpad by carefully inspecting the area where the touchpad goes.

Take the touchpad only, completely disconnected from the computer, and gently run it under warm water until all shampoo residue is completely gone. You may need to leave it set in water for some time to soak everything loose, but be sure to rinse after soaking. In an ideal world, you would do the final rinse with distilled water to make certain there are no mineral deposits left behind.

Now place the touchpad in a plastic bag with some sort of dessicant. Silica gel work great (those little packets that come in electronics) or you can use uncooked rice. Place the bag in a warm place - over 100F if possible, but under 140F (a heating pad could do a nice job here) and allow the pad to dry for at least 24 hours. Once you are certain that it is completely dry and not a drop of water anywhere inside, reinstall it into the laptop and it may just work like new ...

Toshiba touchpad mouse not working?

Go here. http://windows7themes.net/how-to-disable... . Download the driver program for your operating system. You will have to restart after install. When log back on a box will appear. It is the actual mouse settings dialog box with a new tab on it. Check to see if enable is the active button (meaning the disable button is greyed out). If it is then click enable. That should fix the problem. If disable is the active button then;

at the top of the box click/hardwar(find your touchpad in the list and highlight it)/properties/change settings/update driver/find update on the web. When it is done if it says you have the latest driver the;

click uninstall. You will have to restart your computer for change to take affect. Don't worry, Windows will reinstall the driver by default when you log back on.

One of these steps should surely fix your problem. It's a common issue. Good luck.

How do I disable the pinch-zoom function on an ASUS laptop touchpad in Windows 8?

My screen zooms in and out like crazy because of the idiotic "pinch-zoom" function that is build into the touchpad. I see dozens of people posting complaints about this and advice on how to fix it, BUT NONE OF THE ADVICE APPEARS TO WORK WITH WINDOWS 8. I can find no relevant mouse settings, no touchpad settings, nothing at all that allows you to get rid of the pinch-zoom feature. Please, someone, tell me how I can fix this as it is driving me crazy.
