Could you give an example of (or link to an example of) what you want? I googled "Windows Movie Maker news room template" (without the quotes) and got 0 results for templates. I've never heard of using templates with any version of Movie Maker so "template" might not be the word that applies to what you're looking for. Here's a news studio background. This program will allow you to put 3rd party themes onto your computer. Why do you have to do this? Well, Microsoft is greedy and doesn't like people to mess around with their stuff, even though it's now your computer. This will stay on you computer for as long as you'd like. There's your answer on which one to use. 4) Patch the system a) All you have to do is click 'Patch'. i) Make sure that you restart the computer before continuing to the next step!!! 5) Extract the .rar file. Then move the files to: a) C:\Windows\Resources\Themes 6) Run the "install sysfiles X'n'" 'n' meaning either 64 or 32 bit. [Note: x84 means 32 bit] 7) Move the file Luna.theme to the root directory of themes. (Basically means to move that file to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes 8) Then move the Luna folder that was in the same place as the last one to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes 9) Double click the chosen theme [Luna.theme] and let the theme come into place. Downloading & installing .theme files from Microsoft will be save. And yes, you just have to double-click the .theme file & it will install alongside your other themes. Search for .theme files. I found the following locations: C:\Windows\Resources\ C:\Windows\Globalization\MCT C:\Windows\winsxs Right-click the desktop & click personalize. You'll see all installed themes. Under 'Basic and High Contrast Themes' you'll find black themes. BTW Your customized theme looks great. Edit: I misunderstood your question, I do apoligize. I did have a look at the instructions on Windows 7 Themes .Net & it seems you will have to replace and/or edit .dll files, or edit the registry. I wanted to download 1 of the themes but it first wanted me to download another file - a 'smart installer' wich is a download helper. I don't trust those 'download helper' files simply because a computer-illitirate person can download a file.
