WATER CRISIS solutions please?

Here is a link to an answer I found from a member named Buddy Sasquach. It talks about Swamps as water recyclers, and placing economic value to them for their service to human needs. This may lead to a true "solution" to regional water stress

Other stuff you could look up is Reverse Osmosis systems. Since they are propriety technology based, rather than design based, that may "tickle" yer teachers fancy a little more, depending on his/her personality.

RO systems can treat water for everything, including viruses, so they can be used to "recycle" water (although this isn't a "solution" to regional water stress).

The simple description of RO is that the holes are small enough for water to go through, but not salts, viruses, etc.... Since the water and salt are "attracted" to each other by positive-negative bonds, you need to apply enough pressure to "push" the water away from the salt, and through the holes. Under this process, salt water is put into tubes made from hundreds of these membrane layers and pure water basically dribbles through them at a steady rate. You're left with pure water (really pure) and really salty (like toxic salty) waste water.

Good Luck!

How would you handle a water crisis?

I would require power plants to use only desalinated water. All the now freshwater should be used for irrigation and other industrial use and not return to ocean.

Water is the most important raw material used in large-scale thermal power production. Production of 1 kilowatt-hour of electricity requires 140 liters of water for fossil fuel plants and 205 liters for nuclear power plants for cooling purposes. Most plants have a closed-loop system, with only a small proportion of the water actually "consumed" (lost through evaporation); most of the water is used over and over again.

FLINT, MICHIGAN WATER CRISIS OPINION QUESTION HELP READ BELOW?

Some politicians and commentators have argued that if this crisis had occurred in some wealthy Detroit suburb, it would have been front page media and there would be a national out-cry to resolve the problem immediately. They believe that the only reason this was allowed to go on as long as it did and poison the children is because they were from low-income/minority neighborhoods. How do you feel about this claim?
