Is there a statute of limitations on traffic tickets?

Speaking from first hand experience, no they don't. Way back I was written a seatbelt ticket and apparently forgot about it. In the mean time I had moved out of the area.Fast forward 10 years, I was back in the city where I was written the ticket. I get pulled over for something and the office comes back and says relax for a few minutes. Apparently there's a warrant out for me and what it's for is not in the system, they have to pull the file. He asked me if I had any had idea what it was and I didn't have any idea.About 10 minutes go and he says I hate to arrest you for a seatbelt ticket, but.. The officer was very nice about it and actually told me to empty everything out of my pockets, except for my mobile phone and how I was going to pay for the ticket. He also allowed me to call my ride, to take me back after I pay the fine. He did search me, and I got a ride in his car. When it came to the booking process, I did get my mugshot and fingerprinted, paid my fine and was released. My ride was waiting for me and went back on my way.

Why is it that a boy needs to be older than the girl in an Indian marriage?

I am seven years older than my husband. You can't imagine what a big deal that was.Of course there were other issues like community, but we'll talk only about age here.My husband and I were aware I was much older than he is, and consciously never dated though we really liked each other. But of course destiny had other plans for us.We had to convince our family. I was 31 and he 24, far too young to get married his family thought. My family - a girl matures faster than a guy and hence it's important that the guy is older than the girl.At 24, he isn't financially stable.Since you'll age faster than him, he might leave you for a younger woman. His family - in our culture the bride must be younger than the groom. What will people say?If she isn't married yet, there's obviously something wrong with her character. She's so much older, will she still be fertile when you'll want to have kids? These are actual things said by our families and I'm sure most people have these thoughts.

Got a speeding ticket at 106 in 70 mph zone in CA. What will happen?

Assuming you are an adult, not a juvenile:

You are not charged with simple speeding. You are charged with going over 100 mph. That is a far more serious offense. It is a mandatory court appearance (you cannot take care of it online or through the mail), and traffic school is not available. The scheduled fine is $815. It is two points with DMV, which is not going to help your insurance costs, and the court can suspend your drivers license for up to 30 days. Your only hope is that you can convince somebody to reduce the matter to simple speeding, which is only one point and a lower fine. It would be a miracle if anybody reduced it AND let you go to traffic school.

On the other hand, this is not reckless driving, your license will not be suspended for more than 30 days, and no jail time is possible because it is still an infraction, not a misdemeanor.

You cannot change the county where the offense occured. If you don't want to drive back to the court, you can hire an attorney to appear for you, and an attorney might have a better shot at working the matter out. Given the possible punishments, that might be worth the cost. There are lots of attorneys who specialize in traffic tickets who can be found online.

BTW, the fine for going 26+ over the limit is $435, and for 16-25 it is $321 ($55 is added to every fine in 2009).

What will happen to me if I don't pay this ticket?

I got a $103 ticket for running a stop sign the other day.I did stop at the sign, but not long enough. It was kinda a rolling stop.I just have to pay the ticket,I don't need to appear in court.I don't want to pay the ticket. What happens if I don't?Will they put an arrest warrant out?I live in New Hampshire by the way.If I lose my licence,I will continue to drive,I don't care. The govt has enough of my money,I'm not giving them $103.What's worse,a red light violation is only $75! It's the same damn thing! I know this cause they gave me a list of all the violations and what they cost. There's a lot of violations on there that are more dnagerouss, but less money than running a stop sign. This is ridiculous.

What kind of warrants are extraditable across state lines?

There is a common belief that only felony warrants merit extradition. This is not true.It is possible to extradite someone on any arrest warrant. The biggest deciding factor is whether the agency holding the warrant is willing to go to the expense of bringing you back.Any warrant entered into NCIC has to be extraditable. Otherwise, there is no need to enter the warrant into a national system. Even so, the agency holding the warrant can put limits on how far they will go to extradite. They might say “contiguous states only,” so only those bordering the state where the warrant resides are eligible. They might also say, “northeastern states,” “southwest states,” or “only west of the Mississippi River.” If you’re the subject of the warrant and you’re stopped in a state not covered by the limits, you won’t be arrested on that warrant.I know of a municipal court in Nevada that would extradite from neighboring states on charges of domestic violence and DUI. It was very common for tourists from California to get busted for DUI in Nevada, then head back to California when they bailed out, never to return. The municipal court put those warrants on NCIC for neighboring states, and when an arrest was made, would send a city marshal in a squad car to fetch them back. The defendant would have the costs of his extradition added to any outstanding fine amount.
